Dear Community,

Welcome to the 9th edition of our quarterly newsletter for Al Muneera Community.

On behalf of Al Muneera Owners’ Union, we extend warm greetings on the upcoming holy occasion of Eid Al Adha to all residents of Al Muneera community.

The Annual General Assembly of Al Muneera Interim Owners’ Union was concluded on 16 April 2018 wherein the new Interim Board members were elected by the owner membership. We would like to welcome the newly elected Interim Board members and thank them in advance for their continued assistance and support to achieve this year’s plans and projects to further improve the living experience at Al Muneera. We also urge all the residents of the Community to extend their understanding and support in achieving this goal.

The Owners’ Union Management understands the importance of the day-to-day effort that is required to keep the community running and in supporting our residents, businesses and visitors and plans to focus on continuous improvements aimed at enhancing the aesthetics, health and safety, security, comfort, and living experience in the community. The team here is determined to hear you, serve you and meet your needs and we request all residents to direct all their concerns, queries and feedback to us through the formal channels of communication established – telephone, email and community portal. Please be reminded that the Management does not consider public platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. as formal channels of communication.

Over the previous months, you may have noticed several enhancements and enjoyed the festivities and events within the Community. (More information on these can be found under the Improvements and Events sections of the newsletter.) We are particularly proud of these milestones that have been achieved through passionate and meaningful community engagement. Be assured that more improvements and enhancements will continue during the year to ensure the community is kept is a pristine condition.

Lastly we would like to take this opportunity to thank our residents for joining us for the concluded Community Events and making them a great success. We would also like to express our gratitude and appreciate the efforts put in by the newly established Al Muneera Events’ Committee along with the Al Muneera Health Club team for conducting our Community Events.

With respect to the recently implemented Pet Registration Policy, Al Muneera Community Management has introduced pet friendly zones for all the pet enthusiasts for their four legged friends. The three (3) pet friendly zones located near Al Rahba 1, Al Rahba 2 and behind Etihad Center are fully equipped with disposal bags and bins along with bollards and appropriate signages.

Community Improvements

Greener Play AreasAs part of our constant efforts to improve the quality of life at Al Muneera, the Community Management has now installed green foliage at Al Maha 1 and Al Maha 2 kids play areas in addition to enhancing the landscape at Al Muneera with luscious green grass.

In addition to the greener play areas, we have installed hedges around the drop off areas at Al Rahba 1 and Al Rahba 2 thus improving the overall look and feel of the area as part of our green initiative.

Remodelled Security Gate Houses

In order to improve the overall ambience of the community, the security gate houses at the beach plaza, Al Nada 1 and Al Nada 2 have been freshly painted giving them a cosmetic lift to match the vibrant mood of the community.

Well-Lit Corridors and Stairways

To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all residents, the corridors and stairways have been brightened up with ample lighting to guide you and your guests in the buildings.

Bright Sparkling Water Features

Al Muneera Community Management is persistently endeavouring to uplift the spirits of all residents and visitors alike by providing a facelift to the community by installing bright sparkly LED lights alongside the water features at central pathway to keep Al Muneera at par with the new and upcoming developments.

Wi-Fi – Now Available At Community Facilities

In our undeviating efforts to deliver a high quality community living experience to all community residents, Al Muneera Community Management has installed complimentary Wi-Fi services at the Quiet Study Room and the Meeting Room located at Al Maha 1. Contact the respective reception concierge for more information.

Community Iftar 2018

To appreciate the community staff’s hard work and commitment, Al Muneera Community Management and Al Muneera Interim Owners’ Union Board jointly invited the residents to provide food packs on 2 days (4 and 7 June 2018) during the Holy Month of Ramadan as a token of gratitude. A total of 35 residents participated and

brought their donations to the Community Management office at Al Sana 1. Al Muneera staff including lifeguards, technicians, housekeeping, security Guards and other service providers (a total of 241) received the donated food packs for Iftar. All staff enjoyed their meal and happily thanked the Management and residents.

Pet Registration Event

As part of the efforts to ensure a balanced community living experience at Al Muneera, we are pleased to announce the launch of pet

registration and the dedicated pet zones at the community. Please be advised that whilst the Pet Management Policy (PMP) for Al Muneera had always been in place but the same was re-established and implemented through the Community Rules with the adoption of the Al Muneera Handbook (v1.0) on 15 March 2018.

In order to provide an opportunity to all the pet owners of the community to learn more about the Community’s PMP and to register their lovely pets under the same policy, a registration event was held on 9 June 2018 at the pet zone, behind Etihad Center.

The activities included pet registration along with allocation of pet tags and the distribution of freebies for the lovely pets. Please be reminded that as per the Pet Management Policy, all pets within the Community should be registered.

Eid Al FitrCommunity Picnic

AL Muneera Community Management in conjunction with the Al Muneera Interim

Owners’ Union Board arranged a community picnic for the residents as part of the Eid Al Fitr celebrations on 16 June 2018 at the beach.

Residents were encouraged to bring out their picnic mats and food to share with other attendees while King Muneera greeted the attendees with “Kanafe”, a traditional middle-eastern dessert along with distributing candies.

Various activities have been introduced during this summer vacation for the kids in the community housing

immense fun and enjoyable recreation like – karate and swimming. In addition to the activities, Playhouse for the little ones has also been initiated to keep them entertained and joyful all through the summer.

Al Muneera Summer Camp

Upcoming EventsEid Al Adha is expected to fall on Wednesday, 22 August 2018 and we wish EID MUBARAK to all residents in advance. Official notifications about office timings and the associated

event to celebrate Eid Al Adha will be circulated in due course.

The upcoming Al Muneera White Party has been planned for the adults at Al Muneera with loads of fun, frolic and excitement.

I was born and raised up in the West Cost of Saudi Arabia, in one of the largest metropolitan

cities in the Middle East - Jeddah. Jeddah is hot, humid and “desert-ish”. It has a lot of similarities in terms of the weather to Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general.

Being from the region, I always wanted to help the community where I live and make it greener. I believe vegetation helps to reduce sand storms and even the extreme weather temperatures we face. It was my dream to see the region greener and I hope it will be achieved one day.

To make our own contribution towards this goal, my wife and I started, what we called, the “Palms Project” by planting palm seeds at home. We planted the first batch of around 20 seeds in 2015 when I first moved to Abu Dhabi. 5 palm stems grew out of that group. One year later we experimented with another

50 seeds, about 15 out of which grew into stems. I have to say that the success rate could have been better but it was our first round of trial and error.

About 3 years after when the stems grew into larger plants, we agreed to contribute the 18 palms to the community of Muneera. It happened during the first week of July. We believe that their growth was limited in our apartment and it was time for those palms to have a new home.

We plan to continue our “Palms Project” and hopefully contribute with even more greenery to our community in the future.

Special thanks to Facility Management teams who helped to facilitate this contribution and found a new home for our palms. We can see them every day now on our way home. I hope that one day the “Palms Project” would expand even more and make Raha Beach one of the greenest areas in Abu Dhabi.

Al Muneera Community Newsletter is issued and circulated on a quarterly basis to update and inform the community owners and occupiers about the completed and planned improvements/enhancements within the community in addition to the services provided by the Al Muneera Community Management. Each issue includes a brief outline of the last quarter upgrades in the community, information on maintenance and repairs and community events news. We encourage all Al Muneera residents to contribute to the community newsletter by sharing their experience, insights and views with the community.
