Why Propane?

• Approved as an Alternative Fuel

• 3rd Most Commonly Used Engine Fuel

• Higher Octane Rating

• 70 – 80% Less Toxins

• 70% Less Carbon Output

Page 4: Propane Autogas Lawn Mowers and Equipment

Propane 90% Domestically Produced

Around 90% of propane autogas is produced here in the U.S., reducing our dependence on foreign oil and increasing American energy security

Lawn Care Pollution

The federal Environmental Protection Agency estimates there are over 90 million pieces of lawn and garden equipment in the United States with engines rated at 25 HP or less.

Garden Equipment engines emit high levels of carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxides, producing up to 10% of the NATION’S air pollution

Page 7: Propane Autogas Lawn Mowers and Equipment

When Compared to Reformulated Gasoline, Propane Produces

• 60 - 80% reduction in toxic emissions

• 60% less smog forming emissions

Page 8: Propane Autogas Lawn Mowers and Equipment

A Typical 3.5 HP Gas Mower

• Can emit the same amount of VOC’s in an hour as a new car driven 340 miles. A recent California Air Resource Board report shows lawn mowers statewide emit 8.28 tons of VOC's per day.

• Lawn equipment users inadvertently add to the problem by spilling 17 MILLION gallons of fuel each year while refilling their equipment -----

MORE THAN SPILLED BY THE EXXON VALDEZ!

Economics of Propane Mowers

• Fuel Savings 15 – 20%

• Less Maintenance 10%

• Fuel Pilferage Savings 10% and spillage

• Total Savings 35 – 40%

Propane Mower Incentives Landscaper

For landscape contractors, fuel costs play a huge role in profitability. With the Propane Mower Incentive Program, we'll give you $1,000 per qualifying new mower purchase or $500 per qualifying mower conversion (up to twenty-five incentives) to help us document the cost savings and benefits that propane-fueled mowers can deliver. In return, you'll provide feedback and performance data for one mowing season.

Consider Before Committing to a Conversion

Is the mower still under warranty, will the propane conversion void manufacturer’s warranty?

Kawasaki endorses and warrants all their engines on propane; however the manufacturer of the mower or product may choose not to support such warranty. All manufacturers and Dealers view propane conversions differently. Heritage does not assume warranties in behalf of manufacturer.

How old is the mower or how many hours are on the engine?

Propane conversions will not resurrect an old wore out engine. When evaluating mowers or engines with over 300 hours, it is advisable to do a leak down test and compression test to insure the engine is still in good condition. Heritage does not assume any warranties on conversions.

Who will be doing the conversions?

Most large landscapers will have mechanics that repair equipment, others use particular Dealers. Safety and Technical Training is required to properly install conversion kits. No training is offered until all proper documentations are signed.

Consider Before Committing to a Conversion

Mounting of Cylinders

• Depending on size and configuration of mower, determination of where best to mount cylinders is essential. If you can’t see mower in person, please ask for at least 4 photos. One from each side and front-back.

• Always consider the balance of the mower is not compromised.

• Brackets will need to be fabricated to mount cylinders too. A metal fabrication shop is best suited for this but will need information about the particular mower being converted.

Responsibility

• All companies are responsible for any requirements in their particular area. No warranties are implied by AmeriGas. Warranties only pertain to manufacturers who offer such. We can not do Diesel or Fuel injected at this time.
