In an effort to improve quality of life, improving the quality of human resources is absolutely necessary in the era of progress and development of technology today. It can be achieved through formal and non formal education to obtain knowledge related to their expertise, in order to create a professional human resources and be able to face global competition.

In addition to acquiring a knowledge, the experience in the world of work is also needed in the labor scored a reliable and qualified. That experience can be obtained through a training or internship for students or college students to look directly all of the processes, researching and can apply the knowledge they have learned.

Job Training is one of the requirement to graduate of Bachelor degree at State university of Semarang that aims to provide more knowledge of a production process, equipment process as well as the waste treatment that occurs in industry. The program of job training contribute to increases the ability of prospective engineers for solving problems in the field.

Chemical Engineering Department undergraduate that based on the principle of conservation, produce engineers who are high knowledgeable in the areas of employment especially in industrial fields. However, such knowledge would not be perfect if it is not applied directly to the problem. Therefore, in an effort to increase knowledge and experience, we intend to apply a job training in PT. Asahimas Chemical. We hope that the company would accept our proposal and also this program can provide benefits to various stakeholders, including the industry and students.I.2. Overview

Based on information that we have received, PT. Asahimas Chemical is a multinational ASC was established as a multinational company with its headquarters in Jakarta. In 1989, started operation as its state-of-the-art production complex in Banten province. Over the years, the complex has expanded several times, substantially increasing production capacity. Total investment now stands at USD 545 million. Today, ASC operates the largest chlor alkali-vinyl chloride plant in Southeast Asia. By focusing on chemical and industrial markets, ASC has the capacity to produce Caustic Soda (NaOH), Ethylene Dichloride (EDC), Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Hydrochloric Acid (HCI) and Sodium Hypochlorite (NaCIO). ASC's shareholders are AGC (Asahi Glass Company, Japan), PT Rodamas (Indonesia), Ableman Finance (British, Virgin Islands), and Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan. ASC has three plants built on 91 hectares in Cilegon, Banten in Indonesia. Operated by distributed control system, these plants are not only highly efficient but also with high quality standards. Commited to minimize the operation cost as well as carbon emissions. Constantly develops and seek for improvements by using the latest technology.

I.3. Purpose1. To get the relevant experience of the chemical process in industry

2. To increase the knowledge and insights related to the process that occur in the chemical industry.3. Be able to apply the knowledge that has been gained in chemical engineering for industrial purposes.4. To know what skills are needed in the work environment.

5. To fulfill a requirement to graduate from Bachelor Degre Chemical Engineering Department.CHAPTER IIACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONII. 1. Place of Job Training

Based on the aims and objectives mentioned above, we chose to carry out job training in PT. Asahimas Chemical on the following considerations:a. A multirnational company of chemical with high quality of productsb. The availability of sophisticated equipments that supportc. Care about the environment work, especially the problem of Occupational Health and Safetyd. Good management practices in the industryII. 2. Methods

The method used in the practice of field work is divided into a series of activities:a. OrientationAiming to recognize, know and learn the activities contained in the section or department visited during training.

b. Observation subjectIntended that students can be able to see or find a problem contained in the section or department visited according to the discipline.c. Work on job trainingAreas that become observations in this activity are: Process production Equipment prosses Waste treatmentd. Consultation and discussionThis consultation can be done with the supervisor by the lecturer and the supervisor from industry in the field, while the discussion can be carried out by technicians and fellow participants of job training. This activity is intended to complete and refine of job training report.II. 3. Time of Job Training

Regulation of SK Rector no. 46/O/2004, 127/O/2003, 24/O/2004 and 25/O/2004 about the Ethics Class lectures in environmental UNNES determined that the implementation of job training carried out for 4 sks or minimum 32 workdays.
