One Race, Two Causes

Firkin 5K Partnership Announced

The Chamber’s annual 5K race will be in conjunction with

Variety-the Children’s Charity of Greater Philadelphia.

Since 1935, Variety has continued its mission to build in-

dependence and self-confidence in children and youth

with physical and developmental disabilities. Variety

offers educational, recreational and social enrichment

activities while connecting families to resources.

The Firkin 5K is being held on

October 15, and includes a one mile

fun walk, sponsor and vendor

opportunities, and more. Beginning

and ending at Whites Road Park,

the race will kick off Lansdale

Oktoberfest. Look for details on running or supporting

I hope you are enjoying the summer and are getting some time away from the office. Our relocation to Upper Gwynedd is now complete and we look forward to welcoming you to our new office during our grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration on August 25th. Planning is underway for fall events. Our golf outing is back this year with a special twist to honor our local law enforcement. We are accepting nominations for our annual awards ceremony in October. This event is dedicated to recognizing those members that have made an impact through economic growth as well as community outreach. Lastly, we are excited to be partnering with Variety –the Children’s Charity for our annual 5k run. The race has moved from December to October 15th and will kick-off Octoberfest, hosted by the Lansdale library. Networking events are also scheduled morning, noon and after hours for your scheduling convenience. If we haven’t seen you for a while, please consider putting a chamber event on your calendar.

Ambiance Design has moved to a their new location in The Shoppes at Village Square and are now a Hunter Douglas Gallery featuring Alustra fabrics. In addition to hard treatments, they are carrying a semi-custom bedding line and select wallpaper.

Baum, Smith & Clemens, LLP , Audit Partner, Rose A Hartle, was a delegate to CPAmerica International’s 2016 Accounting & Auditing Conference held earlier this summer. Hartle returns to the firm with knowledge and best practices to share with clients.

Montgomery County Community College will introduce a new Physical Therapy Assistant program starting summer 2017. The program will integrate classroom and laboratory instruction. Graduates will be prepared to take the Nation Physical Therapy Exam for station certification and licensure

Moyer Indoor| Outdoor held its Annual 5k T-shirt Design Contest and Souderton Area High School Freshman, Renee Rubery was this year’s winner. Her design was printed on over 700 Moyer 5K T-shirts for the event. The Annual 5K Race, Kids’ Run & Fitness is the largest event in the Indian Valley.

North Montco Technical Career Center is proud to announce that Zachary Fuschetto (North Penn) earned the gold medal in the Restaurant Service Competition. The focus of the competition is on guest service and guest relations in the dining room.

QNB Bank sponsored the 6th annual Clean & Green Extra for Lansdale Public Library. This year’s event included a carwash, book sale, document shredding and electronics recycling.

Rubin, Glickman, Sternberg & Gifford, P.C., partner, Attorney Amy R. Stern, was elected co-chair of the Montgomery County Women’s Center Board of Directors. The Women’s Center of Montgomery County is a volunteer, community organization with a primary focus on freedom from domestic violence.
