We all know that the traditional world of banking in Ireland has irrevocably changed. This is both a challenge and an opportunity. We in the Institute of Banking have responded by developing the Professional Education Framework, a new education initiative, which we believe will make an important contribution to building banking excellence.

Developed in consultation with the banks and UCD, the Professional Education Framework is a professional pathway that provides a new standard of core qualifications for everyone in banking, from foundation to board director level. It is open to everyone, whatever the person’s age, career stage, qualifications, experience, specialism and ambition.

ADVANCiNG PROFESSiONAL EXCELLENCE

For those working in banking, developing transferable skills, increasing career flexibility to avail of new opportunities and sustaining employability have never been more important.

ACADEMiC AND PROFESSiONAL

WHO iS THiS PROGRAMME FOR?

There has been a significant increase in the complexity and volume of regulation underpinning compliance in the area of financial crime prevention. Consequently, practitioners operating in this complex environment have to fulfil their fiduciary responsibilities of ensuring ethical and legal compliance within this regulation while contributing to wider organisational objectives.

One of the biggest risks faced by financial services firms is that their systems or personnel will be used to facilitate financial or white collar crime. This can take many forms including fraud, the laundering of money, facilitating terrorist financing, or the payment of funds to sanctioned countries or entities. The wider damage caused by financial/white collar crime to individuals, communities and the public is immeasurable.

This professional certificate has been designed in consultation with the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation and the Suspicious Transactions Unit in the Office of the Revenue Commissioners.

HOW YOU WiLL BENEFiT

This programme will support your personal and professional development.
