The Noor School s tar ted in September 2008 - a project of
DC Colony, Gujranwala Cantt. Interactive learning approach, meeting demands of modern technological world and making a difference in the education sector are the foundation ideology of The Noor School. We place the highest priority on the safeguarding of children in our care to ensure that we promote the health,well-being and
safety of the children at all times.We have a clear safeguarding and child protection policy in place at The Noor School,of which all staff follows effectively. The guiding principles of the child protection policy are:
- Having zero-tolerance for child abuse and personal assault.
- Protecting children's rights and their best interests.- Parents are encouraged to share minor problems with
their child's teacher or Head of the school. - Students are not allowed to leave the
school until they are collected by the parent/carer name mentioned in the details of the school.
- If any other person comes to pick the child from the school in place of parent/carer, he/she is supposed to bring the ID card or any verification of the parent/carer.
- If the child is injured or showing signs of illness, medical assistance is provided along with the contact to the child's carer.

Preschool is the most crucial phase for learning and development. Kids need meticulous attention at this phase of learning.Our focus is to provide a strong educational base to students at Preschool. Faculty members at Preschool are Montessori trained, highly motivated and well equipped with the knowledge to shape and mould the lives of young kids. The Noor School is providing safe,caring and conducive environment to the students where they grow and learn. We are facilitating students by merging the TNS curriculum with Montessori methods of teaching to ensure maximum independent learning and developing 21st Century skills.

The Junior School comprises of five years of study. After graduating from the Preschool the students enters Grade I at the Junior School and remains here till they passes his grade V to be promoted to Elementary level. Interactive learning approach enables the student to seek answers of the questions with the help of the teacher. We set clear goals, use valid and appropriate activities to shape young minds and conscience. The emphasis is on good quality learning experience rather than memorizing great number of books. We encourage our students to develop in them, reasoning, curiosity, spirit of inquiry, creativity and skill acquisition. Students are also encouraged to be actively involved in finding answers about the world around them.

JUNIOR SCHOOL
Throughout the Junior School students are taught by excellent, highly ski l led and experienced teachers. The role of the class teacher is central to the education of every child and every teacher strives to meet the needs and abilities of all children in their care. The teaching programme is based on the following core subjects:
- Language, Mathematics, Islamiyat, Art, General Knowledge, Physical Education and Computer Studies.
Children are tested in all subjects in October Assessment, December (Mid Year Examinations) and March Assessment, May (End of Year Examinations). Parents receive reports of each term and have an opportunity to meet all teachers on Parent-Teacher-Meeting, which is held once per term. Children are assessed continuously throughout the year by their teachers as appropriate.
This may take the form of formative, diagnostic or summative assessment procedures in order to assess and monitor children's progress and to set learning targets.
TESTING AND ASSESSMENT
Teachers encourage home links and liaise with parents on a regular basis. We wish parents to take an active role in their child's education and work as partners' in the education of their chi ld. Information concerning the curriculum, i.e. topics and themes covered each term in Science and Humanities, is issued to parents at the beginning of each term. The school also encourages children to participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities covering sports, educational games and debates.
During the school year children participate in International and National Days, Book Exhibition, Thematic Monthly Activities, and daily Morning Assemblies.

The Senior School is an advance level of learning.Senior School at The Noor School prepares its students on the course of their careers. The students are guided into selection of the subjects that will determine the future study path towards their higher professional goals. Grades VI, VII, VIII constitute the Elementary section while IX and X form the secondary section of the senior school. At The Noor School we focus to actively engage students in project-based, collaborative learning environments which incorporate and promote the use of higher level thinking, digital technologies, content-driven problem solving skills and alternative assessment in every class.

To provide practical learning experiences, educational visits and Trips are organized whenever possible for students, to support our curriculum and to reinforce classroom based learning. The outdoor classroom can be used to bring learning alive for many children and we aim,where possible to use our spacious grounds and local community resources to inspire and stimulate our children. Each year we plan an Educational visit further afield to a relevant place of interest within reach, this may be a site of historical or scientific interest.
All visits are planned carefully and a risk assessment completed by the class teacher so that they meet our Educational visit policy.

Student life can be rewarding and stimulating but can also have its share of stress. Students who are preoccupied with personal worries may find it hard to concentrate on their studies, they may feel isolated or depressed. Guidance and counselling are important for students, and schools have a huge role in bringing out the best in children. Good conduct is coveted, but sometimes young minds need guidance to polish their personality. Through counselling, students are given advice on how to manage and deal with emotional conflict and personal problems.
The counseling services at The Noor School offer support and constructive help when there are problems. The trained and experienced counseling staff is always ready to help students.
School counselors can give you all sorts of tips and support on solving problems and making good decisions. Chances are that whatever problem you have, your counselor has seen it before — and has lots of good advice on how to help you work through it. Counselors can give you tips on standing up for yourself if you're being bullied, managing stress, talking to your parents, and dealing with anger and other difficult moods.
