Getting to know PROSSATeam
• Group of 6 students from Puerto Rico
• Working on NASA Ames Research Center as interns
• Pioneer Program funded by the AGMUS
• 7 week summer program
• Students were selected based on a previous Saturday Academy Research program

PROSSATeam MembersÁngel Andino
•From Carolina, Puerto Rico and he enjoys taking courses in robotics, working with programming, and developing tools in python and java.
•First year as a college student in Computer Science BS at the Universidad Metropolitana, Puerto Rico.
•He has already work in the development of: HTML websites, mobile applications for android (Mind Creeper), and windows phone (Kids Quiz), a platform named Clickers, databases, National Lab Servers and ingesting winter data in python tools.
•Works as a researcher in the PROSSATeam with: communication sensors, web site, data management, and plotting.

•From Arecibo, Puerto Rico and she enjoys to read, play the guitar and to assemble robotic artifacts.
• Will be majoring in Computer Science at the University of Puerto Rico.
•As part of the Arecibo Observatory Academy and the AGMUS pre-college research program, she worked in the Astronomy division and her project was “How to optimize a CubeSat’s Attitude Determination and Control System to study the Lunar Weather” project.
•Works as a researcher in the PROSSATeam with the Software and Electronics of our project.

•From Jayuya, Puerto Rico and enjoys reading, taking pictures, writing and painting, as his hobbies.
• Will be majoring in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras.
•As part of the Arecibo Observatory Academy and the AGMUS pre-college research program, he worked in the Engineering division and his project was “The use of solar energy in the Biodiesel Industry as a sustainable alternative for the glycerin purification process” project.
• Works as a researcher in the PROSSATeam with the hardware designs and mechanical structure of our projects.

•From Hatillo, Puerto Rico and likes to read, write, travel and swim as her hobbies.
•Will be majoring in Biology with Biotechnology at the Catholic University of Puerto Rico.
•As part of the Arecibo Observatory Academy and the AGMUS pre-college research program, she worked in the astronomy division with the a Cubesat educational Video called “Educating the Public”.
• Works as a researcher in the PROSSATeam with the documentation and hardware assembly.

•From Bayamón, Puerto Rico and he enjoys listening to music, playing video games and watching movies.
• Will be majoring in Computer Science at the Metropolitan University, Puerto Rico.
•As part of the Arecibo Observatory Academy and the AGMUS pre-college research program, he worked in the Computer Science division with the “Trigonometry Solver App for Windows Phone 7” project.
• Works as a researcher in the PROSSATeam with the software and electronics parts of our projects.

•Will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez.
• As part of the Arecibo Observatory Academy and the AGMUS pre-college research program, she worked in the Engineering division and her project was “The use of solar energy in the Biodiesel Industry as a sustainable alternative for the glycerin purification process”
• Works as a researcher in the PROSSATeam with the mechanical structure and assembly of our projects, and her role also involves the informative presentations of the team.

Project Assignment• A Greenhouse project was assigned by our mentor, Dr. Sean Casey.
• The tasks were divided between each member of the team.
• New hardware and software was created for the project.

Why a Greenhouse Project?
• A greenhouse can be a food developing alternative.
• Promotes agriculture.
• An educational project for students.
• While growing plants, we can develop a potential space greenhouse system.
• This project could be a food source for the ISS as well as for future space missions (Moon, Mars, etc).
