EDITORIAL
Every year, the early fall boat shows
mark the beginning of the new nau-
tical season, almost like football sea-
sons. So, looking back at the recently
ended nautical year, we see that the Fer-
retti Group has designed a busy sche-
dule of original events and initiatives
dedicated to its friends and customers:
they are the evidence of the dynamism
and passion that have always characte-
rized the Group. A case in point is the
recent easea>tour: owners and pro-
spects had the opportunity to “live” the
Group’s fleet and experience firsthand,
through a series of exclusive trials orga-
nized in the most exclusive marinas in
the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Sea, the on-
going search for technological innova-
tion, inimitable quality and elegance of
its models, the strengthening of frien-
dships that go beyond the relationship
between the company and the final
user.
After Cannes and Monte Carlo, the
Genoa boat show, with the presentation
of many previews and the usual readi-
ness of the Ferretti Group’s staff, will be
able, once again, to satisfy those who
want to fulfill their dreams, with beau-
tiful and exclusive yachts and top-qua-
lity services.

GREAT ARTON SHOW
LONDON PAYS HOMAGE TO CANALETTO
AND GAUGUIN, WHILE THE UNITED STA-

ROCKWELL London confirms to be, as
usual, the capital of arts. In fact, the Na-
tional Gallery gives all of its visitors the
opportunity to admire, until January 16,
2011, 200 from amongst the most beauti-
ful paintings dedicated to the town of Ve-
nice, works of painters like Canaletto,
Piero della Francesca, Tiziano, Rem-
brandt, Rubens, Velazquez. 'Venezia: Ca-
naletto e i suoi rivali' is the first
exhibition of this kind ever organized in
United Kingdom. Gathering loans from
important public and private collections
of all Europe and North America, the
show highlights the rich variety of views
of Venice, including quite a number of
Canaletto’s most famous masterpieces
plus other great works, like “La Riva
degli Schiavoni" and "Lo scalpellino".

Again in London and until January 16,
2011, the Tate Modern presents "Gau-
guin: Maker of Myth" with over 100
works, including the sensual and char-
ming paintings of Tahiti. The curators of
the showhave already stated that visitors
will have the opportunity to discover
some of Gauguin’s previously unknown
sides: the master is allegedly a great ma-
nipulator of the truth, a shrewd inventor
of astonishing architectures, besides
being an excellent salesman, just like Jeff
Koons or Damien Hirst, currently the
most popular names in the contemporary
art arena.
In Madrid, instead, the Prado presents,
from October 19, 2010, till February 8,
2011, "Pasión por Renoir", a show of
some 30works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir,
one of the founders of Impressionism and
a master in painting portraits, ladies’ fi-
gures, nudes, landscapes, still lifes, and
flowers. In the same period in Baden
Baden, Germany, the Frieder Burda Mu-
seumpresents “The Colors of Poetry”, an
exhibition of 100 works by Catalan artist
Joan Miró and his art of filling with co-
lors the daily liveliness, reinterpreted
through his dreams and poetry, which in
his paintings becomes almost like a fan-
tastic music score. On the other side of
theAtlantic Ocean, instead, themostmo-
Sempre a Londra e sino
al 16 gennaio 2011 la Tate Modern
ospita "Gauguin: Maker of Myth" con
oltre 100 opere tra cui svettano i sensuali
e affascinanti dipinti di Tahiti. I curatori
della mostra hanno già dichiarato che
sarà possibile scoprire dei lati di Gau-
guin conoscevamo ancora non noti: il
maestro sarebbe stato un grande mani-
polatore della verità, un astuto inventore
di architetture sbalorditive oltre che un
ottimo venditore proprio come sono
adesso Jeff Koons o Damien Hirst, i nomi
temporanea.
A Madrid invece il Prado dal 19 ottobre
all'8 febbraio 2011 ospita "Pasion por
Renoir", una mostra di una trentina di
opere di Pierre-Auguste Renoir, uno dei
padri dell'impressionismo e maestro
nella rappresentazione pittorica di ri-
tratti, figure femminili, nudi, paesaggi,
nature morte e fiori. Nello stesso periodo
a Baden Baden, in Germania, il museo
Frieder Burda dedica a Joan Mirò "I co-
quotidiano, reinterpretata attraverso i
musicale. Oltreoceano, invece, sono gli
artisti piùmoderni a occupare le sale dei
principali musei statunitensi. A Chicago
in ottobre, e a seguire in California,
North Carolina e Texas, Alexander Cal-

dern artists invade the rooms of USmajor
museums. In October, in Chicago, and
later on in California, North Carolina and
Texas, Alexander Calder is the protago-
nist of a traveling exhibition that hi-
ghlights his ingenious invention of great
sculptures of kinetic art, called “mova-
bles”. Until January 16, 2011, instead, the
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
will exhibit some of the best prints by
Paul Klee, the Swiss modernist who has
given a form to his exploration of picto-
rial symbolism through etchings and li-
thographs.
The Museum of Art dedicates a retro-
spective exhibition to great photographer
Henri Cartier-Bressonwith over 250 pho-
tographs, a wonderful mix of iconic and
unknown images that describe theworld
surrounding the French photographer,
who has been considered the father of
modern photojournalism, one of the first
persons who adopted the 35-millimeter
format and the inventor of “street photo-
graphy” or “real-life reportage”, a style
that has influenced generations of photo-
graphers. In the same years, Norman
Rockwell was telling his America with a
collection of magazine covers, which
have showed big and small events in the
history of his country: poverty, fights for
civil rights and also the space conquest
race. Movie directors like Steven Spiel-
berg and George Lucas have offered their
private collections for the “Telling Sto-

seum of Modern Art metterà in mostra
alcune tra le migliori stampe di Paul
Klee, il modernista svizzero che ha dato
forma alla sua esplorazione del simboli-
smo pittorico attraverso acqueforti e lito-
grafie.
I registi

schen "75 Years of DC Comics: The Art of
Modern Mythmaking", un'opera impor-
tante anche nelle dimensioni (35 x 29
centimetri con 1500 illustrazioni e 650
pagine), un vero oggetto per collezionisti
innamorati delle avventure di Batman,
WonderWoman e Superman. Si tratta di
7 chili di emozioni visive che partono
dal 1935 quando il maggiore della caval-
leriaMalcomWheeler Nicholson, fonda-
tore della casa editrice, mise in vendita
"New Fun", il primo comic book della
storia. La sua grande innovazione fu di
pubblicaremateriale inedito. Fino a quel
periodo le riviste a fumetti contenevano
infatti ristampe delle strisce pubblicate
sui quotidiani. Venne poi introdotto il
formato diventato un classico per quel
genere di pubblicazioni, 17 centimetri di
larghezza per 26 di altezza. Sulle pagine
di "Action Comics n.1" (giugno 1938)
venne inoltre creato il primo supereroe
della storia del fumetto: Superman.

TASCHEN PUBLISHES A COLLECTOR’S
BOOK THAT CELEBRATES THE 75TH AN-
NIVERSARY OF THE FAMOUS PUBLI-
SHING HOUSE The 75 years of DC
Comics, the most famous publisher of
comics and the creative group that has
invented this publishing wonder, are the
subject of a beautiful book published by
Taschen: "75 Years of DC Comics: The
Art of Modern Mythmaking", a volume
of a considerable size (35 x 29 centime-
ters with 1500 illustrations and 650
pages), a true collector’s item for fans of
Batman’s, Wonder Woman’s and Super-
man’s adventures. It is a 7 kg-book full of
visual thrills, which started in 1935,
when Major of cavalry Malcolm Whee-
ler Nicholson, the founder of the publi-
shing house, started to sell "New Fun",
the first comic book ever. His great inno-
vation was to publish original materials.
Until then, in fact, comics magazines
were just reprints of comic strips publi-
shed in newspapers. Then, the format
was introduced that would become the
typical size for this kind of publications:
17cmwide by 26cm high. The first issue
of “Action Comics” (June 1938) featured
the first superhero of the comics history,
that is Superman.

The Bertram 540… a sport-fishing yacht with all of the
design elements of a luxury motor yacht combined
with the power and capabilities of an aggressive sport-fi-
shing vessel. The designers and engineers who collabora-
ted to create this versatile vessel identified the perfect
balance between uncompromising performance and aesthe-
tic appeal to allure to the most avid sport-fishing enthu-
siasts along with the comfort-seeking cruising and
recreational fishing aficionados.
To best meet the requirements of its customers, the Bertram
design team is currently tailoring the fishing features of the
540 for serious tournament anglers. The Bertram 540 will
therefore come in two versions with distinct features. Both
versions of the 540 will be recognized with impeccable
lines and a unique design to distinguish it from the rest of
the yachts in the usually robust sport fishing segment. With
a great amount of visibility and a consumer directed appro-
ach to design, the new 540 breaks the mold of conventional
interiors characterized by competitive sport-fishing yachts
and provides a new, fresh look to the traditional Bertram
build. A prominent forward windshield design distingui-
shes the recreational version from the hard core fishing ver-
sion that comes complete with a fiberglass brow. The
windshield version provides expansive views of the soo-

thing ocean seen from nearly every angle of the interior,
providing almost a 360 degree view of the ocean. The
galley is aft with an optional retractable cockpit window
to open up the salon. As you are enjoying the luxurious
amenities of the galley, you feel like you are right in the
midst of the action of the spacious cockpit. The electro-
nically powered window, separating the galley and the
cockpit, quickly recedes down creating an easy pass-
through for entertaining, a novel feature for the 540. The
interiors are gorgeously crafted with eucalyptus, white
oak or cherry wood options to provide a light and airy al-
lure to the yacht or a classic rich tone. The master state-
room’s large port side window is encased within the
fiberglass structure to add additional strength and exu-
des natural light with a spectacular view of the ocean.
The sport fishing edition with enclosed fiberglass brow
will resemble the more traditional layout with galley for-
ward and additional storage for fishing essentials. Fully
equipped with all of the outstanding fishing features,
Bertram yachts are known for, the 540 offers essential
additional features to make your fishing ex-
perience more pleasurable such as large in
floor cockpit fish boxes, additional freezers
and an underwater exhaust. Optional cockpit
configurations include choices of starboard-
side freezer or tackle drawers all with the
same look from the outside. A sliding salon
door is a new feature that allows for easy
entry and redesigned storage for enhanced
rod and reels on the port side cabin under the
berth in addition to the salon and master stateroom.
The enhanced fishing edition also offers an optional
pressurized fish box with see-through window in the
transom to give longevity for live bait.
Powered with CAT 32 hp engines, riding the 540 at top
speeds is an exhilarating and powerful experience. Its
performance is unparalleled, reaching up to 42 knots.
Built with the Bertram’s legendary hull, this new
model provides an incredibly smooth ride for such a
high-performance vessel.

THE MOST FAMOUS GOLF COURSES
Golf embraces the environmental cause.
The new slogan of Usga, the United Sta-
tes Golf Association, is “Eco-sustainabi-
lity and Entertainment”: reducing
watering in existing courses to waste
less water, building new courses follo-
wing precise rules and directives, ma-
king the game more entertaining for
players and viewers, without looking at
aesthetics only. This subject is deeply
heartfelt also out of America: at Cape
Kidnappers, in New Zealand, at Leo-
pard Creek in South Africa, and at Tur-
nberry in Scotland, that is some of the
most beautiful courses in the world, ini-
tiatives have been taken to make recep-
tion structures, greens and courses fully
eco-compatible, although maintaining
their exclusivity and luxury. One of the

senza guardare solo all'estetica. An-
sentito: a Cape Kidnappers, in Nuova
Zelanda, presso il Leopard Creek in
SudAfrica e a Turnberry in Scozia, ov-
vero alcuni dei percorsi più belli del
mondo, sono state prese iniziative per
rendere le strutture di accoglienza, i
green e i percorsi totalmente eco-com-
patibili, pur mantenendone inalterati
l'esclusività e il lusso. Tra i progetti
più avveniristici in fase di realizza-
zione c'è l'Hersham Club: situato nella
campagna inglese del Surrey sarà il
primo albergo di lusso al mondo co-
struito nel sottosuolo. Il rinomato stu-
dio londinese Reardon Smith Archi-

One of the most popular cruise destina-tions in the Caribbean is the Grenadines, about 125 is-

Sailors choose the time of favorable trade winds, which
gently blow in the Northeast-Southwest direction du-
ring winter in the northern hemisphere and suggest a
southward route. Those who sail on motoryachts, in-
stead, are less affected by this aspect, although it is
much better following the wind direction than going
against it. A new and expanding trend is the mixed
cruise, that is using a yacht to hop from one island to
another and to sleep on land, taking advantage of the
exclusive hotel accommodations that start to be offered
also to elite guests.

WHEN ARCHITECTSDESIGN
RESTAURANTS
GREAT DESIGNERS HAVE TURNED BARS
AND RESTAURANTS INTO TRUE ART
GALLERIES. Lately, design is one of the
key elements that make successful bars
and restaurants. In fact, an increasing
number of famous architects throw
themselves into “creating” culinary mee-
ting places and spaces dedicated to
“chilling”, that is spending time while
talking and sipping cocktails invented
by true artists of Martini or vodka. Whe-
ther it is the roof of a skyscraper in Ban-
gkok or a joint on a Brazilian beach, the
important aspect is that the spot is cool
and trendy: nobody better than archi-
tects is able to interpret the right mix of
design, architecture, food and drinks,
and mix everything in combinations that
range from minimalism to utterly extra-
vagant baroque.
Of course, the archistar par excellence is
Philippe Starck, the ingenious French
designer who, for the S Bar in Los Ange-
les, California, has created a decadent at-
mosphere with a trompe l'oeil painting
on the wall and classic table lamps that
seem to be taken from the scenes of Alice
in Wonderland. On the contrary, the
Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester restau-
rant (two stars in theMichelin guide) has
been designed by French architect Jouin
Manku. In the very heart of London, in
the famous hotel of the same name, this
restaurant mixes the famous chef’s sur-

LERIE D'ARTE Il design ha oggi
conquistato un posto di primissimo
piano nel determinare il successo di bar
e ristoranti.
sign, architettura, cibo e bevande e
glie”. Porta invece la firma dell'archi-
tetto francese Jouin Manku, il ristorante
(due stelle della Guida Michelin) Alain
Ducasse at the Dorchester. Nel cuore di
Londra, situato all’interno del celebre
hotel omonimo, questo ristorante af-
fianca alla sorprendente cucina del ce-
lebre chef una visione estetica originale
senza eccessi, per lasciare che l'atten-
zione si concentri sull'alta cucina ser-

prising cuisine and an original aesthetic
view without extremes, in order to let
guests focus on the refined dishes that
are served. Another Frenchman, Chri-
stian Biecher, has designed the restau-
rants of the Fauchon chain: the one in
Beijing stands out for the metal shades
alternating with soft lines and colors that
make the environment very cozy.
In Asia, Massimiliano and Doriana Fuk-
sas have decorated the space dedicated
to the restaurant in the Armani flagship
store: winding lines and a refined style
that draw from the Italian fashion desi-
gner’s unmistakable luxury minimalism.
Another couple of Chilean architects,
Felipe Assadi and Francisca Pulido,
have created the Bar El Tubo, in Lima: it
is a spot with milky white walls inter-
rupted by colorful portholes and video
projections. Also the modern and te-
chnological Water Bar in Sydney has ra-
pidly become a cult place after being
redesigned by Cate Young with elegant
furnishings: grey velvet associated to
shiny black painted surfaces and pierced
metal screens.
Finally, the Great North. In Göteborg,
Swedish studio Olssonlyckefors Arki-
tekte has designed the Peacock Dinner
Club, full of radical minimalism and
changing lighting that move in the seve-
ral rooms. In Stockholm, instead, the
Electric Dreams group has created the vi-
sionary space of the Pleasant Bar, a kind
of science-fiction trompe l'oeil with gra-
phics on the walls that repeat endlessly
on the shiny surfaces of small tables.
Then, there is a bar-restaurant with an
artistic disposition: the Karriere, in the
heart of Copenhagen, designed by Da-
nish artist Jeppe Hein. It houses, a series
of events dedicated to contemporary arts
and also several permanent installations
designed by the most interesting up-and-
coming Nordic artists.

toni metallici alternati a linee morbide e
colori tenui che rendono l'ambiente
molto accogliente.
In Oriente Massimiliano e Doriana Fuk-
sas hanno decorato lo spazio dedicato al
ristorante all'interno del flagshipstore
Armani: linee sinuose e ricercatezza sti-
listica che riprendono il minimalismo
lussuoso del creatore italiano dal mar-
chio inconfondibile. Un'altra coppia di
architetti, i cileni Felipe Assadi e Fran-
a Lima. Uno spazio con pareti in bianco
latte interrotto da oblò colorati e video-
proiezioni. Moltomoderno e tecnologico
anche il Water Bar di Sydney, diventato
subito un luogo cult ridisegnato da Cate
Young per l'eleganza degli arredi: velluto
grigio associato a superfici laccate nere
lucide e schermi metallici traforati.
Infine il grande Nord. A Goteborg lo stu-
dio svedese Olssonlyckefors Arkitekte ha
siglato il Peacock Dinner Club intriso di
minimalismo radicale e illuminazioni
cangianti e che si muovono nei diversi
ambienti. A Stoccolma invece il gruppo
Electric Dreams ha creato lo spazio vi-
sionario del Pleasant Bar, una specie di
trompe l'oeil fantascientifico con i gio-
chi grafici alle pareti originati dalle su-
perfici lucide dei piccoli tavoli. E poi il
bar-ristorante a vocazione artistica. Il
Karriere, nel cuore di Copenhagen, rea-
lizzato dall'artista danese Jeppe Hein.

cati all'arte contemporanea, numerose
installazioni permanenti firmate dai più
interessanti artisti nordici.

The authorative “New Yorker” has defi-
ned him the “Prince of Solomeo”. As a matter of fact, more
than a prince, Brunello Cucinelli, 57, is a philosopher lent
to industry, in this case to highly refined fashion, which
turns cashmere into a luxury item not to be showed off, yet
to be enjoyed. In addition to the definition of philosopher,
you could also add that of patron of arts, since profit for
him is an opportunity to further enhance the land where
he lives, Umbria, and particularly a village, Solomeo,
which, little by little, has called back his inhabitants who
had abandoned it.
Now, with Cucinelli’s new job prospects and way to inter-
pret the rootedness in the territory, the old concentration of
houses, rich in historical and landscape beauties, has beco-
me crowded again. Today, Solomeo “is” Cucinelli and the
other way around, since the businessman’s love for this ham-
let has pushed him (who was born in nearby Castel Rigone,
in the province of Perugia) to enhance it architecturally and
culturally over 25 years: the successful results include a won-
derful 14th century castle, a church, and a complex called
Foro delle Arti, which expresses friendship, sharing, cultu-
re, desire for good living: an amphitheater, a rich library and
a philosophic garden. And then a plate with Cucinelli’s
thought: “In beloved Solomeo, Brunello Cucinelli wanted to

THE PRINCEOF SOLOMEO
Brunello Cucinelli has laid thefoundations of his leadership in cashmerefocusing on the search for beauty, ethics,
philosophy and love for his territoryreminder - at all times - of the timeless values of beauty and dre-
am”. A philosophic manifesto with the purpose of making ma-
n’s labor more “human”, raising his dignity and also preserving
the assets that are property of the world.
After two years in Perugia, where he initially started his engi-
neering studies, he understood that his future job would be dif-
ferent and moved to the charming hamlet of Solomeo for the sake
of his fiancée (now his wife) Federica, following an outstanding
intuition: creating something that would express beauty, that
would be able to stand time. After buying the first 20 kg bale
of cashmere wool with a loan and producing his first 100 items,
Cucinelli started his handmade operations and, a few years la-
ter, started to export to the USA, the first step towards a growing
commercial success: today, his group employs over 500 people
and his turnover is 160 million euros, of which two thirds are
generated from export sales.
But his success has not changed his ethical-philosophical be-
liefs: “In my job, I have taken inspiration from Renaissance men,
Bavarian princes who thought that you must produce for the pla-
ce where you live, get a fair profit, of which a portion must be

terra in cui vive, l’Umbria, e in particolare quel paesino, So-
l’imprenditore (nato nelle vicinanze, a Castel Rigone, in pro-

sere rigoroso e dolce, esigente maestro,
mondo”).

of managing the company, which now has over 40 flagship
stores in the major world towns, he is helped by his daughter

ple, to follow his Benedictine rule that says: “Try to be strict
and gentle, a demanding teacher, lovely father”, in the end,
always look for an ethical profit, while respecting people and
the environment and always guaranteeing beauty and excel-

ciples: he wakes up before 6 o’clock in the morning, swims
and trains, and at 8 o’clock is already in the factory. He, like
all of his employees, takes a two-hour break (“Here, we al-
ways have lunch at home”), goes back to his office and at 6
p.m. everybody is off to enjoy one’s spare time, to be dedi-

He loves to stay with his family, play fo-

change the world for better”). Always re-

your life, yet at the same time plan as if
you were going to live forever”.

Ferretti Yachts develops its range with a new model that harmoniou-
sly mixes the typical Dna of the boatyard with revolutionary features
of lines and volume design. It is the Ferretti 720 Project, the result of the
collaboration of Studio Zuccon International Project, the Ayt – Advanced
Yacht Technology, the Group’s naval design and research center, and the
team of Centro Stile architects and designers: this newmodel renovates the
balance between the classical-contemporary style of Ferretti Yachts and a
modern taste for interiors joined with an highly impacting exterior design.
All of this without forgetting the traditional values of quality, space fun-
ctionality, comfort and performance, to be supplemented by the care for a
more and more sports and streamlined outline. The new yacht will be
launched in spring 2011 and will be certainly appreciated by owners who
wants to “grow” within the Ferretti Yachts range and new customers from
all over the world.
Its external outline, supervised by Studio Zuccon International Project, is
appealing and sporty, with a new concept roll bar, hard top on request,
and seamless glazing running along the main deck. The large open-view
windows in the hull are complemented by large windows astern, which
provide light to the Vip and guest rooms.
Since the boat is almost six meters wide, spaces are large: the cockpit is a
true outdoor living-room, with a large table seating 8-10 guests. Also the
salon is impressively roomy, and you may think you are on a much lon-

ger yacht than a 70 footer. A vestibule accesses the
spacious galley and the bridge. The control area is
located to port and its visibility is excellent.
Volumes and heights in night area help comfort
and space. The full-beammaster suite is located in
the center of the yacht: it is equipped with a large
bathroom with separate shower and a roomy war-
drobe. Further towards the bow are two comforta-
ble twin-bedded cabins with private head and, in
the bow, the Vip cabin with a large bathroom with
separate shower.
The crew quarters are fully separated from the
owner/guest area and are located astern on the
lower deck. A vestibule destined for the laundry
area directly accesses the engine room, the two ca-
bins and the bathroom.
Ferretti 720 Project is equipped with twoMtu 10V
2000 M 92 engines, which give a total power of
1381 mhp, and an optional set of engines is also
offered, promising both great performance.
simpegno dà accesso all'ampia cucina e alla plan-
cia.
performance.

Top comfort onboard is one of the objectives
sought for and achieved by the new Pershing
92’, which will be world premiered in the Genoa
Boat Show: a streamlined and modern model,
which creates a seamless unity between interiors
and exteriors and incomparable livability of spa-
ces. Designed by Fulvio De Simoni with the sup-
port of Pershing technical staff, in close
collaboration with Norberto Ferretti, the Ayt (Ad-
vanced Yacht Technology) and the Centro Stile of
the Ferretti Group, the 92’ is characterized by a
streamlined and aggressive external outline, with
straight lines that expand interior volumes, parti-
cularly in the salon and the aft cockpit on the
main deck. The Pershing 92’ includes and enhan-
ces all details that have made the models of the
Pershing fleet so easily recognizable: the windows
of the superstructure, the large glazing along the
sides, the large collapsible door that divides the
cockpit from the salon, and, of course, its inimita-
ble performance. A brand new detail, instead, is
the choice of the hull color: white pearl.
The sun deck is even more spacious, while a
large seat with liftable coffee-table is available on
the bow. The careful study of external lines, liva-
bility on board and continuity of spaces are also
present in the interiors and all rooms below deck.
The cockpit is very roomy and its airy space is
one of the most comfortable areas on the yacht.
The salon is accessed from the cockpit through
the distinctive collapsible glass door, designed in
collaboration with Besenzoni, which consists of
two separate, electrical-hydraulic driven sec-
tions, which slide downwards until they fully di-
sappear into the floor.
Also the elegant furniture is the result of a pain-
staking teamwork that enhances the time-tested
partnership with two long-standing made-in-Italy
brands: Poltrona Frau, which has designed and
made the pilot house, all seats and several details
of interior furniture, and ErnestoMeda, which has
manufactured the galley.
The area below deck includes four cabins: the
full-beam master suite in the center of the boat
with charming natural lighting, the Vip front
cabin and two guest cabins with two beds and en-
suite head. Several interior layouts of the master
suite that are available for the customer’s selec-
tion turn this room into a semi-custom project: a
standard one with access to the master cabin with
a large wardrobe in the yacht’s side and a ba-
throom; a second layout with a large access area
to the master cabin and a small studio with walk-
in wardrobe; a third layout with a smaller access
area and a studio. All leather furniture are made
by Poltrona Frau.
The crew areas, connected with the galley, con-
sist of two cabins with relevant heads and are lo-
cated aft. At stern, above the engine room, which
houses two Mtu engines, is a roomy hangar with
collapsing platform, which is large enough to
contain the tender and a jet-ski. In the standard
version, the Pershing 92’, powered by 2 Mtu die-
sel 16 V engines with a capacity of 2638 Hp each,
with surface propellers and Arneson transmis-
sion, reaches the top speed of 42 knots and a
cruise speed of 38 knots.

I lmassimo comfort possibile a bordo èunodegli obiet-tivi cercati e raggiunti dal nuovo Pershing 92’, in an-
L’at-

NOBU AND THECUISINE OFTHE HEART
THE GREAT JAPANESE CHEF PARTLY
OWES HIS COMMERCIAL SUCCESS TO
HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH ROBERT DE-
NIRO The person who has discovered
the greatest artist of Japanese cuisine,
Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa, is actor Ro-
bert DeNiro, who acted in the movie "Ca-
sino" directed by Martin Scorsese. Nobu
was Japanese ambassador Ichikawa, who
– in the movie – lost all of his money on
gaming-tables. The two men started a
close relationship during the shootings
and then decided to open a chain of
sushi restaurants in Los Angeles. It soon
became clear that this type of food and
the “spectacular” offer would be win-
ning and, in fact, the instant success sug-
gested them to open additional Nobu
restaurants: from New York to Bahamas,
from Miami Beach to Aspen and finally
to Moscow, which is located in the very
heart of the town, has an outlook onto
the Kremlin and features a menu mostly
inspired from the Japanese cuisine, al-
though with international influences.
The specialties proposed include, in ad-
dition to traditional sushi and tempura,

IL GRANDE CHEF GIAPPONESE DEVE IL
SUO SUCCESSO COMMERCIALE AN-

NIRO A scoprire il più grande artista
della cucina giapponese, Nobuyuki
“Nobu”Matsuhisa, è stato l'attore Robert
Deniro che assieme allo chef recitava in
“Casinò” sotto la direzione di Martin
Scorsese.
Angeles.
nero dell’Alaska caramellato e grigliato,
la tartare di ricciola con caviale Osetra
imperiale e lo yakitori in salsa peruviana.
Il sessantunenne Nobuyuki, nato a Sai-

tama, in Giappone, deve la sua crescita
professionale alla conoscenza casuale
con un cliente del ristorante di Tokyo
dove aveva appena iniziato a lavorare.
Lima.
comprende aglio cipollino, sesamo, aceto
namento dell’organismo e rappresentare
spera”.
kushiyaki, Argentinian toban, Alaskan
caramelized and grilled black cod,
amber-fish tartare with imperial Osetra
caviar and yakitori in a Peruvian sauce.
Nobuyuki, 61, born in Saitama, Japan,
owes his professional career to the occa-
sional encounter with a customer in the
Tokyo restaurant where he had just star-
ted working. This businessman convin-
ced him to move to Peru, where he
opened the "Matsuei" in Lima. After tea-
ching his art in South America for seve-
ral years, in 1977 Nobu moved to Los
Angeles, where, more specifically in La
Cienega, he opened the "Matsuhisa",
which soon started to be patronized by
many Hollywood stars.
His cuisine is never obvious and has
conquered also Armani, who has opened
a restaurant with him in Milan: not even
traditional sashimi, which he turns into
tuna foils, grilled for just a second and
then laid on ice: everything is served on
a sprout mix, accompanied by the Mat-
suhisa sauce, a Japanese mustard-based
vinaigrette that also includes chimes, se-
same, rice vinegar and soy sauce. His se-
cret: “Mine is the cuisine of the heart: it
must remain close to nature, help the
good functioning of the body and repre-
sent a wish of a long, healthy and pro-
sperous life”.

EVERGREENCOLOGNE
A MYSTERIOUS ORIGIN FOR THE
COLOGNE WATER "INVENTED" BY
GIOVANNI MARIA FARINA The Colo-
gneWater has been used bymillions
of people in the past three centuries,
but its origin is still wrapped in my-
stery. The invention of the most fa-
mous fragrance in the world is
contended between Giovanni Paolo
Feminis di Crana and Giovanni
Maria Farina di Santa Maria Mag-
giore: the former, an Italian distiller
in Cologne, seems to have been its
inventor, while the latter seems to
have spread it all over the world.
Whatever the truth, its formula has
not changed over the years: it inclu-
des some 20 different fragrances, like
oranges, lemons, grapefruits, berga-
mots, citrons, flowers and fine herbs

ORIGINE MISTERIOSA PER L’ACQUA
DI COLONIA “INVENTATA” DA GIO-
VANNI MARIA FARINA Da tre secoli
l'Acqua di Colonia, oltre a essere
utilizzata da milioni di persone, è al
centro di un mistero riguardante la
sua origine. La nascita del profumo
più famoso del mondo è divisa tra
Giovanni Paolo Feminis di Crana e
Giovanni Maria Farina di Santa Ma-
ria Maggiore: il primo, italiano e di-
stillatore di Colonia, l'avrebbe in-
ventata, il secondo divulgata in
tutto il mondo. Quella che non è
cambiata, negli anni, è la formula: è
composta da una ventina di essenze
diverse, come le arance, i limoni, i
pompelmi, i bergamotti, i cedri, i
fiori e le erbe aromatiche che ven-
gono unite a una base alcolica. Si

that are added to an alcohol base. It
differs from the Eau de Toilette and
the Eau de Parfum because of the
presence of a larger proportion of fra-
grance. The Farina Haus, where its
century-old production was started,
is the oldest fragrance factory in the
world - it was established in 1709 -
and today houses a Perfume Mu-
seum, whose visitors can go back
over the history of this fragrance.
The Cologne Water has been the
focus of several events, which today
are rather common andwidespread,
but back then were much talked
about. When lots of companies star-
ted manufacturing the water and
took the "Farina" name off the packa-
ging, a kind of dispute on the copy-
right broke out back in the early 19th
century, long before this term was
coined and would become so popu-
lar. Themost famous version is clas-
sical 4711 and in the early 20th
century some important artists like
Klee and Kandinsky drew special
packagings for the bottles containing
the precious essence: so, they be-
came the first “limited editions” in
the perfume history.
lonia sono legate vicende che, oggi
piuttosto comuni e diffuse, ai tempi
fecero molto parlare di sé. Molte
ditte iniziarono a produrre l'acqua

More than other models, this yacht shows the na-
tural evolution of design from old to modern Riva.
Everything enhances the pleasure of sailing in a
timeless classical craft, providing unique and
unequaled emotions and comfort at the same
time. The model, designed in 2000, was the first
of the Ferretti Group age. Norberto Ferretti had
just taken over the boatyard to give a strong mark
of continuity with the past (mahogany boats) al-
though with modern features (for example, fiber-
glass hull, powerful engines ideal for
waterskiing). The limited edition signed by New-
son respects Officina Italiana Design’s original
project and is characterized by the choice of lines
and materials: a type of fabric laminate (phenolic
composite) that imitates wood has been used for
the deck and the cockpit. This material has been
developed in the early 20th century and is a pre-
cursor of fiberglass; it joins natural look and
strength and a life definitely longer than wood. In
order to give a high-tech touch, although maintai-
ning the classic and elegant Riva tradition, New-
son has chosen an unusual material for yachts:
anodized aluminum instead of steel and chrome-
plated brass.
If you want to buy one of the two units of the
Aquariva by Marc Newson limited edition, you

in the world, the Gagosian Gallery, established in
New York by Larry Gagosian, a US art dealer of

The streamlined, essential and sports profile ty-

RESTYLING PER UN“CLASSICO" MODERNO
Arrivare a produrre cento unità dello stesso

annunciato un innovativo restyling per il suo

protagonist | STYLE
The pictures taken on board the Pershing 72’
are more than enough to show what style onboard means, but
let us see together what is beautiful and good at sea according
to the classical taste. Everything comes from the Navy, the fi-
shing environment and sports. It quite commonly happens that
something lands from decks and wharves. The first example
in history was given by the Prince of Wales, who would la-
ter become king Edward VII, in 1846, when he was just five
years old. In fact, he appeared on board the royal yacht in the
same apparel as the soldiers on duty. The high military ranks
have also introduced the blazer, a key item in every man’s war-
drobe. Lower ranks are credited for the introduction of the pea
coat, the double-breasted, dark blue wool short jacket with
a double-use large collar. It is a flexible item, which can be
worn with a heavy jumper while at sea and over the jacket
while on land.
The fishing world has introduced the red pants, which were
tailored with used sail. They must be made in canvas (not twill)
and their nature only becomes evident when they are worn out.
The same applies for massaua pants, originally used by doc-
kers and fishermen and then spread in the daily fashion of gen-
tlemen living in sea towns: a very poor fabric, a carded cot-
ton twill that bleeds as easily as denim. Its unmistakable blue
is that of workers’ overalls. Sea pants manufactured by the Mur-
ray’s Toggery Shop of Nantucket are specifically designed for
yachtsmen and reserved for a cultivated and international pu-
blic. A perfect match with the blazer and a plain T-shirt as well,
the nantucket word is commonly used all over the United Sta-
tes to indicate their color between salmon and peach. Another
must-have marine item is the Breton fishermen shirt, made fa-
mous by Picasso and the jeunesse dorée in 1960s’ Saint Tro-
TIMELESSSTYLE
A Pershing 72' is the background ofsome fashion items that mark thehistory of classical taste on board
les, futuro Re Edoardo VII, comparendo a bordo dello yacht
giacca.
Dalmondodella pesca vengono i pantaloni rossi, che venivano ri-
cavati dalle vele usate.

which have resulted in stronger relations. The tour, taken on

French Riviera on August 28th. After the initial stops in Croa-

event is reminiscent of the great closeness and helpfulness to
the customer, which have always been tenets of the Group’s

One ofthe operations that gives us a lot of trouble when
we think of an object, or better still a watch, any one from
amongst the countless models that are manufactured today, is
connecting it with its true creator. This is because there are very
few brands in which the person behind their creation and de-
velopment is still running the business. An extraordinary ex-
ception for watch lovers is Parmigiani Fleurier and its famous
founder, yet also the man that holds its reins still today: Mi-
chel Parmigiani. In 1976, he established a laboratory in Fleu-
rier for the restoration of vintage watches, in which he also star-
ted to develop and manufacture complex models designed from
scratch. In order to market them, Parmigiani Mesure et Art du
Temps was established in 1990. A few years later, one of its
main customers, Fondation de Famille Sandoz, became its ma-
jority shareholder and main supporter: this is the beginning of
Parmigiani Fleurier’s history.
Who is Michel Parmigiani? A true philosopher of time mea-
suring and also a refined expert of the most complex aspects
of mechanics. All of its watches show an aesthetic and formal
balance, based on the strict application of the golden ratio and
arising from Michel’s studies on the Fibonacci number (in

ticolata su 20 collezioni distribuite in 70 Paesi e 250 punti ven-
grosse pietre dalle forme "naturalmente" disordinate): perché
(paolo gobbi)
which each number, except the initial two, are the addition of

of the case and the dial.
In order to keep the entire production under control and to ful-
ly manufacture the products, several manufacturing and habil-
lage factories (Affolter, Atokalpa, Elwin)were taken over in around
2000. This impressive production effort wouldmake it possible
to establish VaucherManufacture Fleurier, specializing in the pro-
duction ofmovements, with a strong shareholding byHermes and
customers like Richard Mille.
Today, Parmigiani Fleurier is a synonym with top quality. It
employs 500 people in its factories: production, articulated in
20 collections distributed to 70 countries and through 250
points of purchase, does not exceed 5,000 pieces per year, a
justly small quantity when you choose to maintain an uncom-
promising quality level. Therefore, it is not by chance that a
partnership with Bugatti has been signed in 2001 and with Per-
shing in February 2008.
if you are looking for Michel Parmigiani, if he is not traveling
around the world, you will surely find him in his Fleurier “fac-
tory, yet only until 6 p.m. At that time, in fact, he walks 200
meters to his house, where he has an original zen garden (made
of gravel and large stones of “naturally” irregular shapes): be-
cause also meditation is important to make unique watches.

Bmw Serie 7 Active Hybrid
You must admit it: hybrid propulsion has given agood shock to the car sector. It has been quite a while since all
four-wheel novelties include, plan or hint there will be a ver-
sion with thermal and “electron”-based engines, which will
add to the first plug-in models, that is with rechargeable batte-
ries that connect with the garage’s main outlet as if it were a
mobile phone. Hybrid cars, the most popular ones, have been
found a niche also in the category of top-of-the-range models:
on the other hand, the latest and most sophisticated technolo-
gies are often used in top-end models and then cascade down
on the rest of the range. Certainly, hybrid propulsion is a kind
of exception, because the Toyota Prius has been the first stan-
dard model and certainly is not a top model or a large Suv, but
currently the Bmw, Lexus andMercedes (the order is strictly al-
phabetical) ranges include an electric version for its top-end
models, all of which are capable to reach 250 kilometers per
hour. German supremacy, you may say, with the Japanese com-
petition, which must be credited with the first model with
Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division. However, the Japanese manu-
facturer will remain alone, because next year an additional Ger-
man carmaker will add to the list: Porsche with its Panamera
Hybrid, a derivation from the Cayenne S Hybrid, with a 2,995
cc gas V6 engine and two electric engines releasing 380 Hp
total power. It is a five-star power, in line with the other top-of-
the-range cars already available: the Bmw Series 7 Active Hy-

250 all’ora.

Potenza a cinque stelle
Qui la tecnologia an-
(Enzo Rizzo)

brid, also available in a 5.21 m extended body version (other-
wise its size is just 5.07 m). While inside it is a Series 7 with all
comfort pluses you expect from a Bmw car, under the hood it
hides a concentrate of technology, with a 4,395 cc gas V8 en-
gine with a double turbo compressor coupled with an electric
engine, which result in 465 Hp combined power and powerful
700 Newton-meter torque (a value that means flexible engine
and quick acceleration when the car is already in motion). Li-
thium ion batteries, currently the most performing and efficient
types, and 8-speed automatic drive are just two significant fea-
tures of this exciting car.
Pioneering Lexus, instead, offers the Ls 600h, which can be or-
dered in the 5.03 m standard version or the 5.15 m long ver-
sion, with a 4,969 cc V8 engine plus an electric engine
featuring 445 Hp combined power. Technology here also inclu-
des full drive, Hybrid Power, a button that, with the same
power, enhances acceleration and enables the engine to run 8
percent faster, and unbelievably quiet run.
Finally, there is the Mercedes S 400 Hybrid, in the 5.10 m short
version and the 5.23 m long version: differently from its com-
petitors, it alternates electric drive (it is the first car that has
used lithium ion batteries for the electric engine) and a 3,498
cc V6 engine with nearly 300 Hp (exactly 299) combined
power, and features rear-wheel drive. (enzo rizzo)

in the early 20th century to catch lobsters: high-performing and safe boats (partly due to the deep

The smallest boat in the range is the Dolphin
44’, a concentrate of elegance and sportiness,
painted in a color reminiscent of the lobsters
caught by New England work-boats, while ele-
gance and luxury are defined by solid woods
and valuable leather in the interiors. People on
board are fully surrounded by nature thanks to
large windows used in all rooms: views of the
sea are breathtaking. Internal layout includes the

master suite in the center of the boat instead of
the more traditional position in the bows, a
choice that guarantees large spaces and particular
comfort and stability.
The “cult” lobster boat, the Dolphin 54’, instead,
is available in two versions, flybridge and sun
top, and is dedicated to people who look for a
more direct and harmonious
contact with nature and are
truly fond of the sea: 16 meters
are enough to enjoy the bri-
ghtness and comfort of a large
yacht, in addition to a conside-
rable care for the environment,
the result of additional reduc-
tion in gas and noise emis-
sions. This model is proposed
in the cream yellow color, as warm as the natural
light that floods the salon and the master suite.
The Dolphin 64’ aquamarine, instead, represents
the perfect balance of elegance, performance, on-
board comfort and freedom of movement with its
large salon, three cabins, three bathrooms and
crew quarters that can accommodate three peo-
ple. The master suite in the center of the boat gua-
rantees great stability and is lit by natural light
thanks to its large side windows. The spacious ba-
throom, about five square meters, is subdivided
into three separate areas. The Dolphin 64’ is avai-
lable in both sun top and flybridge versions.

flagship of the line, is dedicated to people who
are looking for excellent seaworthiness, comfort
and stylistic elegance. The ideal choice for long

goste pescate dalle work-boat del New England, mentre
L’or-
garantisce spazi generosi e particolare comfort e stabi-
to equilibrio fra eleganza, prestazioni, comfort di bordo
zona giorno dominano i volumi e i grandi spazi, mentre

twin beds; each one includes private bathroom
and a large walk-in closet that replaces the tra-
ditional wardrobe, while the upper deck is re-
served for conversation in its panoramic
saloon. Outdoors, a large dining table will ena-
ble guests to have lunch and dinner overloo-
king the sea or rest in comfortable couches.
The owner, a profound fan of the sea and
yachts, has given his opinion on every detail
and asked for the aft extension of the sun deck,
which now is large enough to house a helicop-
ter pad, the first one to be installed on a 43m
yacht. Again on the sundeck, the customer has
required an about 6 m sailboat: this craft be-
longs to the yacht’s range of water toys, toge-
ther with two jet skis and two canoes. Changes
in this area have also affected the bow area,
which houses a large relax area behind the Ja-
cuzzi tub.
The yacht’s interiors show the owner’s passion
for arts and ancient collectibles. In fact, the
underlying theme of “Eviva” are valuable oil
paintings, all of them strictly with marine sub-
jects. This maxi-yacht has been able to mix be-
auty, elegance and functionality in every
room. The same principle has inspired the in-
stallation, in the lobby, of a glass elevator con-
necting the main deck and the upper deck.
A small balcony overlooking the sea enables
the owner to spend pleasant time in full pri-
vacy, while the desire for relax and wellness
is visible from the creation, aft, of a cedarwood
sauna and a gym equipped with Technogym
tools overlooking the beach platform on the
lower deck. Again on the same deck is the en-
tire area dedicated to the crew, which consists
of a dinette and 4 cabins.

on the upper deck – plus the crew’s quarter, which can
accommodate up to four people.
The salon, divided into the living area and the dining
area, is accessed from the large cockpit on the main
deck. Towards the bow, the large table, which can seat
up to 10 people, is located to starboard. The spacious
galley is fully equipped and includes a dinette for four
people. The crew area, which is designed for up to
four people, is reached from the galley: in addition to
two double cabins with two heads, each one equipped
with foldaway shower, it includes a laundry area. The
staircases leading to the upper deck and lower deck
are located in front of the galley. This layout divides
the life of guests on board and the crew’s activity. The
bright owner’s suite, which includes a working area, a
large wardrobe and a bathroom with separate shower,
is located towards the bow on the main deck, in a great
position that guarantees maximum privacy.
Guest cabins are located on the lower deck: they can
be three or four depending on the layout selected by
the owner. The forward sky lounge has been enlarged
and houses the pilot station and the panoramic salon.
Outside of this area, on the upper deck, a large teak
table can seat up to eight people. The Navetta also of-
fers an additional area to enjoy the sun in full privacy:
a sun deck with sunpads and divan.
Navetta 26 Crescendo is equipped with the new Gi8
control system, by which one
can monitor and operate con-

touch screen easily and quickly.
The craft is equipped with two
Man V8 -900 engines, which
thrust the yacht to a top speed of
14 knots and a cruise speed of 12

V10 -1100 model reaches a top speed of 16 knots,
with a cruise speed of about 13.5 knots. The engine
room is equipped with two Mitsubishi Arg (Anti

e gestire tramite touch screen comandi, utenze, servizi,
allarmi in modo semplice ed immediato. L’imbarca-
13,5 nodi. Nella sala macchine si trovano due stabiliz-
zatori Mitsubishi ARG (Anti Rolling Gyro). Molto buoni

tion, the Ferretti Group has prepa-
red a unique opportunity to meet
with its customers and prospects
in its La Spezia boatyard also this
year. The Group will exhibit a
fleet of yachts near the La Spezia
wharf on the occasion of the se-
cond edition of the easea>trial, an
initiative fully dedicated to custo-
mers and prospects, who will
have over 10 days (from October 1
to 11) to visit the yachts and carry
out sea trials. Dates have been stu-
died with the purpose of facilita-
ting the customers who, after
visiting the Genoa boat show,
which will be held at the same
dates, will be allowed to test first-
hand right away the excellent qua-
lities of the yachts in La Spezia,
taking advantage of a comfortable,
private transfer service.
The Group’s brands will give their
customers and prospects the op-
portunity to leisurely visit the
many boats in a reserved and com-
fortable environment and to carry
out sea trials for the entire dura-
tion of the event. The second edi-
tion of the easea>trial confirms
once again the desire of Ferretti
Group to offer its customers a pri-
vileged experience to get in con-
tact with the sea, continues and
expands the success of the
easea>show, the permanent show
of the fleets of all of the Group’s
brands at Marina di Cattolica, and
renews the excitement of directly
living the sea offered by
easea>tour.

conda edizione di easea>trial,
un‘iniziativa dedicata intera-

BERTRAMGET KIDS
FISHING EVENT
BERTRAM YACHT was the title
sponsor of the Get Kids Fishing
Foundation headed by Chase Ca-
macho an avid sport fishing owner
of a classic Bertram 54. The event,
held on June 25th at the Bimini
Boat Yard, just steps away from the
Allied Marine grand Showroom in
Ft. Lauderdale, was an effort to gar-
ner support for the program desi-
gned to get the new generation of
children fishing. As the title spon-
sor, Bertram Yacht showcased the
new 800 at the center of the event
where over 400 guests were able to
view the boat with sales professio-
nals from Allied Marine and Ber-
tram Yacht to learn about the new
vessel. The Get Kids Fishing foun-
dation is a not for profit organiza-
tion dedicated to being active in
the community by providing kno-
wledge and the tools to enjoy sport
fishing and teaching the new gene-
ration of children to protect and re-
spect the great outdoors.
Renowned marine artist, Carey
Chen, also participated by offering
an exclusive painting for auction to
support the donation cause. Ove-
rall, many sport fishing enthusiasts
attended the evening and conside-
rable funds were raised in an effort
to prepare the next generation for
sport fishing and conserving the
marine environment.
BERTRAM E LAGET KIDS FISHINGFOUNDATION
BERTRAM ha sponsorizzato la Get

duta da Chase Camacho, proprie-
tario di un classico Bertram 540.
L'evento, tenutosi il 25 giugno al
Bimini Boat Yard, a pochi passi
dallo showroom Allied Marine di
Ft. Lauderdale, è servito a racco-
gliere fondi per una fondazione
no-profit che si prefigge lo scopo di
sensibilizzare i bambini sulla co-
noscenza della pesca sportiva,
dando loro gli strumenti culturali
per poter apprezzare nella giusta
maniera la natura marina e i suoi
abitanti. Oltre 400 ospiti hanno
potuto assistere alla presentazione
esclusiva del nuovo Bertram 800.
L'apprezzato pittore Carey Chen
ha voluto personalmente donare
un suo quadro alla fondazione che
è stato poi messo all'asta contri-

zione ad una velocità massima di
29 nodi. Al Salone di Genova
viene inoltre esposto per la prima
volta ad un salone italiano il Fer-
retti 800, reduce dal grande suc-
cesso appena ottenuto a Cannes,
che coniuga stile ed esplorazione
in ambito di design e progetta-
zione. Il risultato è uno yacht ca-
ratterizzato dalla generosità degli
spazi interni, dal layout tipico di
imbarcazioni di dimensioni supe-
riori, combinate con una linea ac-
cattivante che si completano con
eccellenti prestazioni. (1)
PLENTY OFNOVELTIES IN
GENOA
AT THE 50TH edition of the Genoa
International Boat Show, Ferretti
Yachts premieres the Ferretti 500
and the Ferretti 620, two models
that result from the collaboration
of Studio Zuccon International
Project, the Ayt – Advanced Yacht
Technology, and the Centro Stile
of the Ferretti Group. These two
yachts renew the entry and me-
dium models of the range. The
Ferretti 500 is the restyling of the
Ferretti 470, one of the best sel-
ling models of the Ferretti Yachts
entry range. Outside, it retains the
streamlined and sporty lines of
the previous model, with four ad-
ditional wide windows on the
lower deck. Unique solutions
have been used that further opti-
mize space onboard, like the aft
position of the galley, with the
purpose of increasing livability
and creating a single open space
area that includes cockpit, galley
and living. The rest area includes
three comfortable cabins, two for
guests and one for the owner, in
the bow with a large bathroom,
while the flybridge provides
roomy spaces to enjoy the sun and
outdoor life.
The Ferretti 620, which replaces
and updates the Ferretti 592, is a
yacht with great livability of spa-
ces and characterized by better
comfort on board. The living areas
on the main deck and outside are
quite large, while two roomy
guest cabins and a full-beam ma-
ster suite with large open view
windows, typical of larger yachts,
are located on the lower deck.
Also the crew quarters have been
expanded, while two 900 mhp
Man V 8-900 engines enable the
yacht to achieve a top speed of 29
knots.
After the great successful exhibi-
tion in Cannes, the Genoa Boat
Show is also the first Italian pre-
sentation event of the Ferretti 800,
which mixes style and explora-
tion in design and decoration.
The result is a yacht characterized
by spacious inside rooms, with
the typical layout of larger boats,
and a charming line completed by
excellent performances. (1)
LA GAMMA SOTTOGLI 80' CAMBIANOMEDALL’INIZIO di settembre 2010,
quando come tradizione inizia il
nuovo anno nautico, la gamma
Ferretti Yachts sotto gli 80 piedi
cambia nome, o meglio cambia la
denominazione commerciale ade-
guandosi al sistema maggiormente
utilizzato nell’industria nautica e
già applicato dal brand per le im-
barcazioni di fascia superiore agli
80 piedi. La modifica prende come
riferimento la lunghezza fuori tutto
dello yacht (Loa – Lenght over all)
e la EN ISO 8666 (Lmax.), invece
del precedente dato relativo alla
lunghezza di costruzione EN ISO
8666 (Lh – Lenght of the hull). Que-
sto adeguamento non coinvolge
dunque la gamma Ferretti Yachts
di lunghezza superiore agli 80
piedi per la quale nel nome com-
merciale si faceva già riferimento
alla LOA.
Le nuove denominazioni della
gamma Ferretti Yachts sono dun-
que: Ferretti 500, 530, 570, 620,
660, 700, 720, 750, 800, 830, 881,
881 RPH e Altura 840 per la linea
di motoryacht aft cabin Altura.
NAMECHANGEFOR THE RANGE
BELOW 80'EFFECTIVE from the beginning of
September 2010, when traditio-
nally the new nautical year starts,
the Ferretti Yachts range below 80’
changes its name, or better, chan-
ges its commercial denomination,
following the most commonly used
system in the nautical industry and
already used by the brand for its
yachts over 80 feet. The change
takes the yacht’s Loa (Lenght over
all) as its reference and the EN ISO
8666 (max. length), instead of the
previous number that included the
Manufacturing length EN ISO 8666
(Lh – Lenght of the hull). This ad-
justment, then, does not affect the
Ferretti Yachts range with lengths
exceeding 80 feet, whose commer-
cial name already included the
LOA.
So, the new denominations of the
Ferretti Yachts range are as follows:
Ferretti 500, 530, 570, 620, 660,
700, 720, 750, 800, 830, 881, 881
RPH and Altura 840 for the Altura
aft-cabin motoryacht line.
TANTENOVITÀA GENOVA
AL 50ESIMO Salone di Genova,
Ferretti Yachts presenta in ante-
prima Ferretti 500 e Ferretti 620,
due modelli nati dalla collabora-
zione tra lo Studio Zuccon Inter-
national Project, l’AYT – Advan-
ced Yacht Technology e il Centro
Stile del Gruppo Ferretti. Questi
due yacht rinnovano la fascia d’in-
gresso e intermedia della gamma.
Il Ferretti 500 rappresenta la rivi-
sitazione del Ferretti 470, uno dei
“best seller” della gamma d’in-
gresso di Ferretti Yachts. Esterna-
mente, è stato mantenuto il profilo
filante e sportivo del modello pre-
cedente, a cui sono state aggiunte

STARS PARADE ATPOLTU QUATU
A PERSHING parade has enlivened
the Poltu Qualtu marina for a
three-day event of games and relax
dedicated to its owners. Stardom,
the Pershing exclusive distributor
for Italy, received its customers
from June 25 to 27 with the pur-
pose of having them live the uni-
que experience of the Sardinian
sea. The Pershing Stars Parade was
an exclusive event, full of enter-
tainment and great excitement,
which involved guests in a funny
kermis and tested the sports atti-
tude and power of all models of the
Pershing fleet. The most exciting
moment of the event was the day
when Stardom involved owners in
navigation, water games, fishing
and team competitions. The mor-
ning opened with the “Pershing
Parade”, a true parade that first rea-
ched the island of Caprera, then
the crystal-clear waters of Cala Co-
ticcio, and then sailed for the fasci-
nating Spiaggia dei Sassi. Here, the
owners and their guests spent an
exciting afternoon amongst water-
ski exhibitions, wakeboard trials
and sea doo competitions. The day
then ended with an exclusive gala
dinner in the Grand Hotel Jaspe, to
the music of the Lova Band, during
which the winners of the competi-
tions of the day were awarded their
prizes and a super-prize was also
awarded: a trip for two persons on
the Parmigiani Fleurier Hot-Air
Balloon, the watchmakers that
sponsored the event together with
Audi, Dolcefarniente, Inoxtar,
CMM Yacht Service, Blue Dream,
Orsetto Ristorante. A fund-raising
event was also held during the gala
dinner for the benefit of the Italian
Association for the fight against the
neuroblastoma.
STARS PARADE APOLTU QUATU
flotta Pershing. Momento più entu-
siasmante dell’evento, la giornata
nel corso della quale Stardom ha
impegnato gli armatori tra naviga-
zione, giochi acquatici, pesca e

giani Fleurier, l’azienda orologiera
sponsor della manifestazione as-
sieme ad Audi, Dolcefarniente,

raccolti fondi a favore dell’Asso-
ciazione italiana per la lotta al

BOCCHE DIBONIFACIO GOLFCOMPETITION AT
THE PEVEROTHE CIRCUIT of the Pevero Club, a
charming location studded bet-
ween green vegetation and the
blue sea surrounding Cala di
Volpe, a few minutes from Porto
Cervo, was the venue for the Itama
Golf Cup, a golf competition held
the first week of August. Bocche di
Bonifacio Yachting – the exclusive
Itama dealer in Sardinia, Liguria,
Piedmont and Lombardy – was the
sponsor of this 18-hole circuit,
characterized by very difficult gre-
ens from a technical point of view,
immersed in the beautiful surroun-
ding landscape: rock formations,
natural lakes and Mediterranean
macchia. The exclusive event,
which was followed by the prize-
giving ceremony held in the
square of Porto Rotondo, next to
the latest model of the Itama range
on the berth, the Itama Fifty, and a
nice cocktail party, reconfirms the
proactive attitude of Bocche di Bo-
nifacio Yachting, which identifies
the Itama fleet as the ideal choice
for people whowant to live the sea
to the fullest. Piero Bianco, the
owner of B. B. Yachting, has ope-
ned an office in Santa Margherita
Ligure, in addition to the longtime
headquarters of Porto Rotondo,
three years ago.
“CUBO” BRIONVEGAPER IL FORTY N. 100
IL RESTYLING dell’Itama Forty nu-
mero 100, che riflette la volontà di
ripercorrere l’inizio della storia del
brand, riproponendo peculiarità sti-
listiche tipiche dei primi modelli, è
stato accompagnato dall’importante
partnership con Brionvega, famosa
azienda di produzione di apparec-
chi radiofonici, che vanta la crea-
zione di modelli diventati icona del
design industriale italiano. Per
l’Itama Forty numero 100 (che si ca-
ratterizza per l’interno in laccato
bianco tipico dei primi Itama, che
qui viene ripresentato favorendo un
design degli interni ancora più pu-
lito e luminoso) Itama ha ideato per
i suoi nuovi armatori, insieme con
l’architetto Marco Casali, e in colla-
borazione con Brionvega, che si è
occupata della realizzazione, Radio
Cubo Itama Edition, prodotta in se-
rie limitata per i nuovi armatori.
Questo progetto trae spunto dalla
famosa radio TS502 (comunemente
nota come "Cubo"), con la coppia di
pannelli di comando, in zama pres-
sofusa.
"CUBE" BRIONVEGAFOR FORTY NO 100
THE RESTYLING of the Itama
Forty hull number 100, which
shows the desire to retrace the
beginning of the brand’s history,
proposing again style details ty-
pical of its first models, has been
accompanied by the important
partnership with Brionvega, the
famous manufacturer of radio
equipment, which designed mo-
dels that have become icons of
Italian industrial design. For the
Itama Forty number 100 (charac-
terized by white painted inte-
riors typical of early Itama
yachts, which here result in a
cleaner and brighter interior
look), architect Marco Casali has
designed, in collaboration with
Brionvega, which has supervised
its production, Radio Cubo Itama
Edition, produced in a limited
edition for the new owners. The
cue comes from the famous
TS502 radio set (commonly
known as “Cube”), with twin
control panels, in die-cast
zamak. Designed by Marco Za-
nuso and Richard Sapper in
1963, this radio was the result of
the company’s ongoing research
for new shapes inspired from the
modern contexts of use and has
rapidly became synonym with
portable radio all over the world.
BOCCHE DIBONIFACIOIN BUCAAL PEVERONELLA PRIMA settimana d’agosto il
circuito del Pevero Club, suggestiva
location incastonata tra il verde e
l’azzurro che circonda Cala di
Volpe, a pochi minuti da Porto
Cervo, ha visto Bocche di Bonifacio
Yachting – distributore esclusivo
Itama in Sardegna, Liguria, Pie-
monte e Lombardia – patrocinare
l’Itama Golf Cup, un circuito di 18
buche contraddistinto da green ad
alta difficoltà tecnica, stemperata
dalla suggestione del paesaggio cir-
costante: formazioni rocciose, la-
ghetti naturali e macchia mediter-
ranea. L’esclusivo appuntamento
seguito dalle premiazioni svoltesi
nella piazzetta di Porto Rotondo,
accanto all’ultimo modello della
gamma Itama ormeggiato in ban-

different from the previous models.
Its aggressive character contrasts
with the streamlined and harmo-
nious silhouette. Designed to opti-
mize space on board and guarantee
top comfort, this open features se-
veral innovative solutions. Addi-
tionally, the elegant and

VERTIGO 63’SBARCA IN EGITTO
A FINE giugno un open Vertigo 63’
è stato consegnato ad Alessandria,
in Egitto. La vendita di questo
primo esemplare (il più grande co-

dal dealer esclusivo, Synergy Tra-
ding, dal 2008 unico distributore
in Egitto. Una seconda unità di 63’
Vertigo è in fase di ultimazione
prima della consegna in acque egi-
ziane. Eleganza, armonia, stile
sono le tre qualità che contraddi-
stinguono questa imbarcazione
dallo stile inconfondibile che si pre-
senta innovativa e diversa dai mo-
delli che l’hanno preceduta. Il suo
carattere grintoso fa da contrasto
con il profilo armonioso e slan-

numerose soluzioni innovative.
Inoltre l’hard top, dalla linea ele-

superiore, ideale per vacanze nel

“AZTECA”AMONGST THE TOP100 MAXI-YACHTS
IN THE WORLD
ANOTHER prestigious result has
been achieved by the Ancona-
based boatyard: in fact, the 72 m-
long “Azteca”, hull number 124
launched in September 2009, has
been included in the list of the 100
largest pleasure ships in the world.
A fully custom-made project, so
far “Azteca” is the largest plea-
sure-boats ever built in Ancona
and one of the largest ever manu-
factured in Italy. Its sophisticated
and innovative design is characte-
rized by the streamlined gray di-
splacing hull and the large beach
platform, a new area of over 100
square meters arranged as a true
beach club. The elegant salons and
interior furnishings, enhanced by
the exceptional brightness provi-
ded by the large glazing, underline
its classical and refined taste. (1)
WORK INPROGRESS PERL’AMMIRAGLIA DI80 METRI
CONTINUA l’intenso work in pro-
gress per dare vita alla nuova
grande sfida di CRN: la costruzione
numero 129, in acciaio e alluminio,
di 80 metri, un progetto davvero
unico che punta sull’organizza-
zione degli spazi e privilegia il com-
fort per gli ospiti e l’armatore. Lo
Studio Zuccon International Pro-
ject ne ha curato il layout esterno
mentre gli arredi interni sono stati
realizzati, su richiesta dell’arma-
tore stesso, dall’interior designer
Laura Sessa Romboli. Dodici ospiti,
una suite armatoriale, e ben 30 per-
sone di staff tecnico - compreso il
comandante e 7 addetti del team
personale dell’armatore - andranno
in crociera a bordo dell'imbarca-
zione più grande mai costruita nel
cantiere navale di Ancona. É già
stata completata la compartimenta-
zione interna (cabine, saloni e tutti
gli spazi), mentre sono quasi termi-
nate le fasi di completamento del-
l’impiantistica di bordo e ilmontag-
gio dei diversi portelloni. Sono in
uno stadio avanzato l’allestimento
delle cabine ospiti delmain deck, in
allestimento i saloni e la zona equi-
paggio nel lower deck. I lavori di
pitturazione esterna della nave, ini-
ziati ad agosto, dureranno circa 12
mesi. (2)
WORK INPROGRESS FORTHE 80 METER
FLAGSHIP
THE INTENSE work in progress
continues: Crn’s new great chal-
lenge is building hull number 129,
a steel and aluminum 80 meter
yacht, a truly unique project that
focuses on the space layout and the
comfort of the owner and his
guests. Studio Zuccon Internatio-
nal Project has supervised the ex-
terior layout, while interior
furnishings have been designed, on
the owner’s request, by interior de-
signer Laura Sessa Romboli.
Twelve guests, a owner’s suite and
as many as 30 technical staff – in-
cluding the captain and seven peo-
ple of the owner’s personal team –
will sail on board the largest craft
ever built in the Ancona boatyard.
The interior compartmentalization
(cabins, salons and all rooms) is al-
ready over and onboard systems
and the assembly of the several
hatches are almost finished. The
outfitting of guest rooms on the
main deck is in an advanced stage,
and the salons and crew quarters
on the lower deck are being prepa-
red. Painting works of the exterior
surfaces have started in August
and will last about 12 months. (2)
“AZTECA” TRAI 100 TOPMEGA YACHTAL MONDO
UN ALTRO prestigioso risultato otte-
nuto dal cantiere anconetano: “Az-
teca”, lo scafo numero 124 di 72
metri varato nel settembre 2009, è
stata infatti inserita tra le 100 navi
da diporto più grandi al mondo..
Progetto completamente “custom”,
“Azteca” è ad oggi la nave da di-
porto più grande mai realizzata ad
Ancona e una delle più grandi rea-
lizzate in Italia, dal design sofisti-
cato e innovativo, caratterizzato
dalle forme slanciate del distintivo
scafo grigio dislocante e dalla
grande spiaggetta a pelo d’acqua,
una nuova area allestita come un
vero “beach club” di oltre 100 mq.
L’eleganza dei saloni e degli arredi
interni, valorizzati dalla straordi-
naria luminosità data dalle ampie
finestrature, ne esaltano il gusto
classico e raffinato. (1)

NEW PROJECT:THE 100'
THE result of the collaboration of

chnology, the naval research and

and designer team of the Group’s
Centro Stile, the Ferretti Custom
Line 100’ presents innovative fea-
tures and expands the planing
line as a new addition to the 124’,
112’ Next and 97’ models.
Its geometrical lines make the
profile very sportive, with unin-
terrupted glazing from the stern
on the main deck to the elevated
bridge. In the salon, a glass door
can be installed, on request, on
the starboard side: it opens on a
collapsible balcony for a direct
contact with the sea and to further
enhance brightness. The salon in-
cludes the living and dining
areas. Internal livability is further
improved with the introduction
of the wide body type near the
bow area, where the master cabin
is located, which considerably ex-
pands the space onboard. Volu-
mes are large also on the lower
deck, with four guest cabins fea-
turing en suite bathrooms and a
large open view windows over-
looking the sea. Large space is
also available for outdoor life,
with a flybridge equipped with
large sun pads and an external
lounge on the bow of the main
deck. Two 2639 hp Mtu engines
are expected to push the yacht to
a top speed of 26 knots.

Le sue linee geometriche rendono
il profilo molto sportivo con una
continua vetrata che si estende
dalla poppa del ponte principale
e giunge fino alla plancia rial-
zata. Nel salone, su richiesta, può
essere inserita nella murata di de-
stra una porta vetrata con aper-

per un contatto diretto con il
mare e dando ulteriore lumino-
sità al tutto. Il salone è suddiviso
tra living e zona dining. Miglio-

bilità interna attraverso l'intro-
duzione della tipologia wide body
in prossimità della zona di prua,
dove è situata la cabina armato-

dello spazio a bordo. Anche nel
ponte inferiore i volumi sono im-

ospiti, tutte con sala da bagno en
suite e grande finestra open view
