Being on time is KEY as first impressions always count.
Gates open at 8am and students are expected to be at their tutor room by 8:2am.
In September, we are changing the way you will need to report your child’s absence. For details, seehttps://www.cheney.oxon.sch.uk/attendance-and-punctuality/
As a school we ask students to aim for 100% attendance.95% is the minimum that will give you the best chance of success.

Mrs Fenton - Librarian
• Reading is a huge focus for year 7 through the Accelerated Reader programme.
• Mrs Fenton (and the library!) hosts regular reading lessons for the whole of year 7 and through this she gets to know the whole year group.
• The library is a great place to do your homework or to read a book at lunch and break times.

Year 7 Culture and Ethos
Your Job for the summer• Create an acronym for the 6 letters above, ‘BE KIND’. For
example, what could the B stand for, then what could the E stand for etc.
• The words you create have to be focussed around kindness and respect.
• When you start at Cheney you will show your ideas to your tutor and we will select the best ones.
• Your idea could be the one that we use for our year 7 motto.
