Proud guesstimator Austin Thompson, a newly registered Pack 446 Wolf Scout, won this contest with his guess of 60 colored Easter eggs in this jar.

A talented veteran of many family campouts, Pack 551 Cubmaster Monica Kruse showed these scouts how to create their very own homemade birdcall using two Popsicle sticks, two rubber bands and a thin piece of paper held taut in the center.

With some help from Kimberly Quintero, Tiger Cameron Sanchez (left) and Wolf Ian Sanchez learned how to make a Daniel Boone coonskin cap neckerchief slide using a one-inch pvc tube, white felt, a black marker and some creative ingenuity.

The Legend of Johnny Appleseed was the theme at this Pack 61 campsite.

“The Three Billy Goats Gruff” (and the Troll) was creatively displayed by Pack 551.

Pack 252 did a tremendous job showcasing Blackbeard the Pirate with this replica ship and wooden placards (inset, right) announcing each pirate’s name. The treasure chest (below) contained a personalized ship’s log and photos along with the valuable “booty.”

Pack 460 Cubmaster Ben Brown certainly looked the part of Paul Bunyan to the delight of scouts Webelos-I Ryan Jeffries and Wolf Mitchell Atkinson.

Pack 334 Cubmaster Doc Henry did a very convincing Casey Jones impersonation.

Many types of “Big Foot” paraphernalia were on display such as “Authentic Sasquatch Bait (trail mix)”, “Sasquatch Skat”, “Sasquatch Sheddings”, “Sasquatch Repellent” “What Would Sasquatch Do?” bumperstickers, Sasquatch beef jerky along with “I Believe” t-shirts, necklaces, and other trinkets.

Tiger Trevor O’Brien checked out the many items in the souvenir store and discovered a book he proudly noted he had already read: “The Boy Who Cried ‘Big Foot’!”.(below)

The campfire crowd listened attentively to the message of these two pirates.

Once a campfire is going, it isn’t long before the marshmallow roasters try their hand.

Kevin Treon hammed it up to warm up the crowd around the Saturday night campfire. At dusk, they were treated to the Disney movie “Daniel Boone” starring Fess Parker.

These Webelos Scouts from Pack 252, assisted by their Den Leader Stacey Dean, conducted the Family Campout closing flag ceremony on Sunday morning.

During the closing awards ceremony, Kevin Treon presented the “Spirit Award” to Pack 446 for their “Big Foot” theme, gateway, souvenir store and overall extra effort. Accepting the award was senior ranking scout, a very proud Webelos II Travis Rose.
