Proverbs 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

Some people are determined to be wrong.

10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless: 11 For their redeemer is mighty; He shall plead their cause with thee.

Some people do move property lines in the attempt to steal some land;

Especially if they are dealing with the weak and helpless -- like orphans.

God will be their Protector.

12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.

Most people don’t really want to learn.

They are content in their ignorance.

But God says we should listen and learn.

The refusal to listen, learn, and walk accordingly, has serious consequences.

It may be the result of simply being hard-headed.

Children learn best from good examples.

1 Peter 5:1-3 (NIV) To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers -- not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
