GENERALINSTALLATIONDATAThisequipmentisdesignedandsoldforcommercialuseonlybypersonneltrainedandexperiencedinitsoperationandisnotsoldforconsumeruseinandaroundthehomenorforusedirectlybythegeneralpublicinfoodservicelocations.Beforeusingyournewequipment,readandunderstandalltheinstructions&labelsassociatedwiththeunitpriortoputtingitintooperation.Makesureallpeopleassociatedwithitsuseunderstandtheunitsoperation&safetybeforetheyusetheunit.Allshippingcontainersshouldbecheckedforfreightdamagebothvisibleandconcealed.Thisunithasbeentestedandcarefullypackagedtoinsuredeliveryofyourunitinperfectcondition.Ifequipmentisreceivedindamagedcondition,eitherapparentorconcealed,aclaimmustbemadewiththedeliveringcarrier.Concealeddamageorloss-ifdamageorlossisnotapparentuntilafterequipmentisunpacked,arequestforinspectionofconcealeddamagemustbemadewithcarrierwithin15days.Becertaintoretainallcontentsplusexternalandinternalpackagingmaterialsforinspection.Thecarrierwillmakeaninspectionandwillsupplynecessaryclaimforms.
INSPECTION&ASSEMBLYUNCRATINGANDINSPECTINGUnpacktheunitandcomponentsfromtheshippingcontainer.Removeallvisiblepackingmaterialandthosefrominsidethecookingchamber.Ifdamageisdiscovered,fileaclaimimmediatelywiththecarrierthathandledtheshipment.Donotoperatetheunitifitwasdamagedduringshipping.Thefollowingshouldbeincluded:ProveyorMulti-PurposeOven,StainlessSteelLoadUp&UnloadTrays,4StainlessSteelLegs.
REMOVEALLHEATINGELEMENTSHIPPINGSUPPORTSPRIORTOPLACINGYOURUNITINTOOPERATION.
ASSEMBLYANDINSTALLATIONTheunitwasshippedwithcertainassemblyrequired,plugintoastandardoutletspecifiedforitsvoltageandampdraw.Ifimproperelectricalsupplyisdetermined,contactaqualifiedelectricianpriortousingtheunit.Removalandreplacementofthepowercordandplugwillvoidthewarranty.Forassistance,contactyourlocalauthorizedserviceagentforserviceorrequiredmaintenance.Attachthe4legsbyscrewingthemintotheweldnutslocatedonthebottomoftheunit.Whencomplete,usetwopeopletocarefullyturntheunitupright.Levelunitbyadjustingthefeet(approximately1/2"adjustment).Neveroperateunitwithoutproperlegsinplace.Beforeusingtheunitforthefirsttime,wipedowntheexteriorwithadampcloth.
CAUTIONAllowenoughspacearoundtheovenforadequateventilation.Donotoperatetheunitwithoutthecrumbtrayproperlypositioned.Overheatingandpoorbakingmayoccur.Readalllabelsontheunitandfollowtheirinstructions.

ASSEMBLYANDINSTALLATIONcontinuedInstallunitinitsoperatingpositionallowsufficientspaceforoperatingpersonnel.InstalltheLoad,UnloadandCrumbTraysasshown,makingsuretheendsareatleast6"fromanyverticalcombustiblesurfaces.Haveanelectricianconnectinputpowertotheunit(s)inaccordancewithlocalelectricalcodes.Aconnectionterminalblockisinsidetheleftsidecavityformodelsnotprovidedwithacordandplugset.
HEATINGELEMENTSInspectallheatingelementsintheunitforbreakage.Everyunitisproperlytestedpriortoleavingthefactory,butdamagemayofoccurredduringshipping.Ifabrokentubeisfound,donotapplypowertotheunit.Ifeverythingchecksout,TurnonMainPowerSwitch,Turnbothheatcontrolsandconveyorbeltspeedcontroltothemaximumsettingandcheckallheatertubesandconveyorforproperoperation.
COOLINGSYSTEMAftertheunitisinitiallyturnedon,allow5to8minutesforthefancoolingsystemtocomeon.Onceon,checktheairintakearealocatedundertheunitandbesurethatthereisasufficientflowofairintothecontrolbox.Keepareaundertheunitcleanfromobstructionsthatmayresultinrestrictedairflowtothecontrolbox.Restrictingtheairflowwillcausetheunittorunhotterthendesigned,causingtheHi-Limittoturnunitoff.SeetheOvenComponentssectiononpage7forcontrolbox&Hi-LimitResetlocations.
FINALCHECKIfallheatersandconveyorsystemsareoperatingproperly,switchthemasteron/offswitchtotheOFFpositionandallowunittocool,thefanwillcontinuetocirculateair,coolingtheunituntiltheinternaltemperatureshavebeendecreased.Ifaproblemisdiscoveredduringanyofthesestart-upprocedures,immediatelyswitchthemasteron/offswitchtotheOFFpositionandnotifytheStarServiceDepartmentat(314)634-6303.
ELECTRICALCONNECTIONBeforemakinganyelectricalconnectiontothisunit,checkthatthepowersupplyisadequateforthevoltage,amperageandrequirementsstatedontheratingplate.Awiringdiagramisincludedherewith.Disconnecttheunitfromthepowersourcebeforeinstallingorremovinganyparts.Beabsolutelysurethatthegroundconnectionforthereceptacleisproperlywired.Donotconnectequipmenttopowerwithoutpropergroundconnections.Impropergroundingmayresultinpersonalinjuryorfatality.

1. Ifacartistobeusedwithunits,placebottomunitoncartandalignlegholesofunitwiththeholesonthecart.Insert3/8"boltsthroughcartandintolegholestosecurebottomunittocartasshownbelow.
2. Placestackingspacerontopofbottomovenwithinternalairductfacingupandtowardstherearoftheoven.
3. Mountexternalairductonstackingspacerasshownbelow.Externalairductmustbeinstalledforcoolingsystemoftopunittofunctionproperly.

DAILYOPERATIONBakingintheseunitsisacombinationofheatandbeltspeed.Somefoodsmayrequiremoretopheatorvisaversa;otherfoodsmayrequirelowtopandbottomheatandslowbeltspeeds.Everyproductshould,therefore,betestedusingtheseparatetop&bottomcontrolsandthevariablespeedcontroltoarriveatthecorrectbalanceofheatandbeltspeed.Whenchangingheatandorbeltspeedsettingallowapprox.5minutesfortheoventostabilizeitselfatthenewsettings.Checkthepowercordtoinsurethatitispluggedintoaproperoutlet.Alwaysallow10to15minutesofpreheattimebeforeloadingtheunitwithproduct.Failuretoallowsufficientpreheattimewillresultinunsatisfactorycookinguntiltheunitreachesoperatingtemperature.

CLEANINGPreventivemaintenanceforyourHolmanOvenconsistsofthefollowingrecommendedcleaningprocedures.Tokeepyouroveninitstopoperatingcondition,thesestepsshouldbeperformedonadaily,weeklyorasindicated.
DISCONNECTUNITFROMPOWERSUPPLYORTURNPOWEROFFATWALLBREAKER.DAILY
1. TurnmainpowerswitchtotheOFFposition.Disconnectunitfrompowersourceand allowtocool.
2. Usingamilddetergent,wipeexteriorsurfaces,cleanwithadampcloth.a.Forlightlysoiledbuild-up,cleanwithadampcloth.b.Forheavilysoiledbuild-up,useansoftdampclothandmilddetergent.DO NOT use caustic cleaners.
3. Removetheload&unloadtraybyliftingthemoutofposition.Cleanusingmilddetergentandwarmwater.
4. Removeeachcrumbtraybyslidingeachofthemoutfromundertheconveyorbelt.Cleancrumbtraysbywipingwithadampclothandmilddetergent.DO NOT use caustic cleaners. Placetraysbackinplacepriortoputtingunitbackintooperation.
5. Reconnectpower.
WEEKLY1. TurnmainPowerswitchtotheOFF
position.Disconnectunitfrompowersourceandallowtocool.
2. Performdailycleaningprocedures.3. Usingadampcloth,wipecleanthefan
guardlocatedonthecontrolboxcoverundertheunit.
CLEANCONVEYORBELT4. Reconnectpowerorturnpowerbackon.5. Switch the ON/OFF switch to the ON
position,andturnConveyorto its fastestsetting.
6. WiththeConveyorturnedonandthecrumbtraysinplace,takeawiregrillbrushordryabrasivepad,cleantheexposedsurfaceofConveyorBeltbypassingthebrushorpad,backandforthacrossthesurfaceoftheConveyorBeltasthebeltmovespast.Continueuntiltheentirebeltisclean.MakesuretheCrumbTrayisinstalled,thiswillminimizetheamountofparticlesthatfallintotheoven.
7. WhentheConveyorBeltisclean,takeadampclothandwipetheconveyor,removing anylooseparticlesonthebeltsurface.TurnConveyorOFF.
8. RemovetheCrumbTraysbyslidingoutfrombeneaththeconveyorbelt.CleantheCrumbTraysbywipingwithadampclothandmilddetergent.DONOTusecausticcleaners.DONOTRUNCONVEYOROVENWITHOUTCRUMBTRAYSINSTALLED.
DONOTIMMERSEORLETTHEUNITSTANDINWATER.

4. Nowthatthelinkshavebeenun-hooked,theconveyorcannowbecarefullyremovedfromtheoven.Standingatoneendoftheoven.Startingwiththeendonthebottom, rolltheconveyorbeltuntilithasbeentotallyremoved.Takecarefulnoticebeingsurenottodamagetheheatertubes.
5. Cleanconveyorbeltindeepsink,causticcleanersmaybeused.Foraheavysoiledconveyorbelt,soakovernightinhotsoapywater.
NOTE:DONOTATTEMPTTOCLEANTHEHEATERTUBES.6. Take this opportunity to
clean and remove anyloosematerialsinsidetheunit.Usingamildcleanerand damp cloth, carefullywipe the inside surfacesbeing sure NOT to cleantheheatertubes.DAMAGECAN OCCUR TO THEHEATER TUBES FROMIMPROPERCLEANING.
DONOTSPRAYCLEANINGSOLUTIONSINTOOVENCAVITY.
7. Remove the conveyorsupportsystemasshowninFig2.byremovingtheCouplersfromthemountingStuds.Cleanbywarmwaterandabrasivepad.
8. Reinstalltheconveyorsupportsystem.9. Reinstallconveyorbeltbyfirstlayingthebeltalongthebottomoftheovencavitymaking
surethehooksonthesidesarefacingtheinsideandtheendsofthehookswillbe pointingawayformthedirectionofthebeltsonottocatchonanyinternalcomponents onceputbackintooperation.
NOTE:THEDIRECTIONOFTHEBELT.10.Next,pulloneendoftheconveyorbeltoverthetopofthesprockets,(beingsuretolinethelinks

8) Reconnectpowersupplycordtofanmotor. 9) Replacebackpanelandenclosure.Fastenwith
screwsremovedinstep3. 10) Connectunittopowersourceandtestunitforproperoperation.
C. REPLACINGBELTDRIVEMOTOR 1) DISCONNECTPOWERSOURCE. 2) Afterunithascooled,removetheload&unloadtrays,
andturnunitoversothebottomisfacingupward. 3) Removethecontrolboxcoverwhichcontainsthefan
motor,byremovingthe(4)screws. 4) Removethesidepanelthatwillexposethe
drivechainandsprockets. 5) Removesprocketfrommotorshaft,usinganAllen
wrenchandlooseningtheset-screw. 6) Removethewirefromterminalblockconnectingthe
drivemotortotheinternalwiring.Onunitsrated208or240volts,notewhichcolorleadsarebeingusedfortheseconnectionsandwhichleadiscappedwithglasstape.Thenewmotorshouldusethesamear-rangement.
7) Removescrewsholdingmotorinplaceandremovemotorfromunit. 8) Putnewmotorinplaceandattachlooselywithmountingscrews. 9) Replacesprocketonmotorshaft.NOTE: The two sprockets must line up FLUSH with each other, so the chain does not twist any during operation. Also the hub gets installed closets to the motor.

E. CLEANINGAIRINTAKEONCEAWEEK. 1) DISCONNECTUNITFROMPOWERSOURCE. 2) Placeunitonitsbackside. 3) Useavacuumcleanerandoradampclothtocleantheairintake. Thisprocedureshouldbedoneatleastonceaweek.
F. LUBRICATETHECHAIN&SPROCKETSEVERY6MONTHS 1) DISCONNECTUNITFROMPOWERSOURCE. 2) Removethesidepanelswhichexposeschaindrive. 3) Usinganextremepressure,syntheticchainlubricantwithatemperaturerangeupto400°F. Applyliberallyontochainandsprockets. Thisgreaseisavailableseparatelyaspartno.1P-Z8914.Call1-(800)807-9054toorder. 4) Replacesidepanels,Reconnectpowersourceandtestunit.

THOROUGHLY INSPECT YOUR UNIT ON ARRIVALThis unit has been tested for proper operation before leaving our plant to insure delivery of your unit in perfect condition. However, there are instances in which the unit may be damaged in transit. In the event you discover any type of damage to your product upon receipt, you must immediately contact the transportation company who delivered the item to you and initiate your claim with same. If this procedure is not followed, it may affect the warranty status of the unit.
LIMITED EQUIPMENT WARRANTYAll workmanship and material in Star products have a one (1) year limited warranty on parts & labor in the United States and Canada. Such warranty is limited to the original purchaser only and shall be effective from the date the equipment is placed in service. Star's obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair of defects without charge, by the factory authorized service agency or one of its sub-agencies. Models that are considered portable (see below) should be taken to the closest Star service agency, transportation prepaid.
> Star will not assume any responsibility for loss of revenue.
> On all shipments outside the United States and Canada, see International Warranty.
* The warranty period for the JetStar six (6) ounce & Super JetStar eight (8) ounce series popcorn machines is two (2) years.
* ThewarrantyperiodfortheChrome-MaxGriddlesisfive(5)yearsonthegriddlesurface.Seedetailedwarrantyprovidedwithunit.
* ThewarrantyperiodforTeflon/Dura-Teccoatingsisoneyearundernormaluseandreasonablecare.ThiswarrantydoesnotapplyifdamageoccurstoTeflon/Dura-Teccoatingsfromimpropercleaning,maintenance,useofmetallicutensils,orabrasivecleaners,abrasivepads,productidentifiersandpoint-of-sale attachments, or any other non-food object tha comes in continuous contact with the roller coating. This warranty does not apply to the “non-stick” properties of such materials.
> This warranty does not apply to "Special Products" but to regular catalog items only. Star's warranty on "Special Products" is six (6) months on parts and ninety (90) days on labor.

SERVICES NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY
PORTABLE EQUIPMENTStar will not honor service bills that include travel time and mileage charges for servicing any products considered "Portable" including items listed below. These products should be taken to the Service Agency for repair:
