PRESIDENTSami S. Zabaneh, MDDepartment of Internal MedicineBefore he joined Christie Clinic in 1995, Dr. Zabaneh served one year as chief medical resident at the University of Illinois College of

Medicine. In the Department of Internal Medicine, Dr. Zabaneh diagnoses and treats non-surgical illnesses in adults.

VICE-PRESIDENTKrishnarao Tangella, MD, MBA, FCAP, CPEDepartment of PathologyDr. Tangella joined Christie Clinic in 2003, following his residency at the University of

Arizona, University Medical Center, Tucson. In the Department of Pathology, Dr. Tangella interprets and diagnoses changes caused by disease in the tissues.

TREASURERStuart C. King, MD, MBADepartment of Spine and Pain ManagementA native of Champaign-Urbana, Dr. Stuart King joined Christie Clinic in 2006. He attended the University of Illinois for

Medical School and Business School. He is an Assistant Dean at the College of Medicine. In the Department of Spine and Pain Management, Dr. King specializes in interventional techniques to treat painful disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Dr. King has successfully implemented lean management techniques and accepts business interns and medical students in his department.

Kathleen Collins, MD, FACPDepartment of Internal MedicineDr. Collins joined the Clinic in 1991. She received her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. Her special interests are geriatrics, palliative

care and women’s health issues.

Fred Haynes, MDDepartment of General SurgeryDr. Haynes joined the Christie Clinic team in 1975. Dr. Haynes is the head of the Department of General Surgery at Christie Clinic. He received his medical degree from the

University of Tennessee in Memphis and completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago, and he completed a fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Eric Helfer, MDDepartment of UrologyIn the Department of Urology, Dr. Helfer treats diseases and malfunctions of the bladder, prostate, and kidneys in adults and children. He has been at Christie Clinic since

2006. He completed medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria and his residency at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Subbiah Rajaguru, MDDepartment of CardiologyDr. Rajaguru first joined Christie Clinic in the Department of Internal Medicine in 1995. In 2002, he pursued fellowship training in cardiology at Michael Reese

Hospital in Chicago and electrophysiology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Rajaguru returned to Christie Clinic in 2006 as a member of the Department of Cardiology. He specializes in the treatment of adult heart disease and electrical rhythm problems.

SECRETARYEX-OFFICIOKenneth BilgerChief Executive OfficerKenny joined Christie Clinic in June 2008. In his role as CEO, he works in concert with

the Board of Directors and leads the Administrative Team to set the strategic vision, implement change initiatives and direct the operations of the Clinic. Prior to assuming the role of CEO in September of 2014, Kenny was the Chief Financial Officer for Christie. Kenny received his MBA from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.

EX-OFFICIOWilliam Pierce, DPM, FACFASChief Medical OfficerDr. Pierce joined Christie Clinic’s Department of Podiatry in 1987. In addition to his practice, he currently serves as the clinic’s Chief Medical

Officer. In this role, Dr. Pierce participates in recruiting and retaining physicians, mentors physicians and non-physicians, and serves as a goodwill ambassador to the community. He also oversees the Christie Clinic quality program and credentialing of medical providers.
