OVERVIEW • Proper approach for actuator maintenance

and repair. • Basics include: proper identification,

maintenance areas, quick repairs and upgrades.

Page 3: Providing Sales & Service To The Water-Wastewater, Power

The Beginning

• Valve or Actuator Issue?

• If the Actuator, what

type?

MAINTENANCE IS ALWAYS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN REPAIR!

PREPARATION IS KEY

Retrieve any and all tagging information.

Locate any in house O&M manuals.

Locate and review drawing(s).

Identify critical equipment that is affected by the repair.

Secure parts and tool(s) needed.

Materials of Construction

Eleven models (to 12,000 pound-inches) are pressure die-cast in titanium stabilized zinc-alloy (ZL16)

The remaining five larger models (to

168,000 pound-inches) are cast aluminum that conform with LM-25 and ASTM 356.1 specifications

Shaft assembly is either stainless steel or

zinc plated ductile iron Polyurethane seals with stainless steel

expanders

*Side plate design reduces air consumption
