MBR is an indigenous technology developed to meet stringent treated water quality for sewage and industrial wastewater. MBR is an membrane reactor based design for biological treatment of sewage / effluent. It required less footprint area and superior product quality and less operational cost.

“Pressure sand filtration is the flow of water through a bed of granular media, normally following settling basins in conventional water treatment trains. The purpose of this filtration is to remove any particulate matter left over after flocculation and settling. The filter process operates based on two principles, mechanical straining and physical adsorption. Sand filtration is a "physical‐chemical process for separating suspended and colloidal impurities from water by passage through a bed of granular material. Water fills the pores of the filter medium, and the impurities .

DEMINERALISATION PLANT

ULTRAFILTERATION

Ultrafiltration is a separation process using membranes with pore sizes in the range of 0.1 to 0.001 micron. Typically, ultrafiltration will remove high molecular‐weight substances, colloidal materials, and organic and inorganic polymeric molecules. Low molecular‐weight organics and ions such as sodium, calcium, magnesium chloride, and sulfate are not removed.

Demineralized water also known as Deionized water, water that has had its mineral ions removed.Mineral ions such as cations of sodium, calcium, iron, copper, etc and anions such as chloride,sulphate, nitrate, etc are common ions present in water. De‐ionization is a physical process which uses specially‐manufactured ion exchange resins which provides ion exchange site for the replacement of the mineral salts in water with water forming H+ and OH‐ ions.

WATER SOFTENING

Water sofening is the removal of calcium, magnesium, and certain other metal cautions in hard water. The resulting soft water is more compatiblewith soap and extends the lifeetimof plumbing.

How BioFlocs MBR Operate ?BioFlocs operates on the principle of biological/bacterial treatment . Raw untreated wastewater is sent to BioFlocs reactor using a pre filter screen to prevent any larger debris, plastics etc clogging the reactor. BioFlocs module is a bioreactor filled with necessary set of air diffuser and filteration membrane with a pore size ranging from 0.1 micron to 0.01 micron. Residence time of waste water within the reactor is controlled by drawing rate from the membrane module, treated water is drawn from the reactor using suitable pump. As the pore size of the membrane is too small to allow any bacteria or other contaminants to pass through, the treated water at the outlet of the membrane is clean with reduced organic content. This water is thereafter is dosed with chlorine and sent for eventual reuse or discharge .

Why Bioflocs MBR ?In coventional biological treatment process, the bioreactor and gravity clarifier are two separate units limiting the MLSS handled by the process. This limitation leads to higher foot print of the plant and higher sludge volume. In contemporary process though the foot print and sludge is less, the plant are tricky to operate as there needs to be a precise biofilm development on the carrier. This biofilm carrier limits the treatment capacity of the process and also requires more energy compared to activated sludge process.Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) based platform decouples reaction and clarification making operation at higher MLSS possible. Also as majority of bacterial mass is in suspension, the efficiency is also beber than its contemporary. Thus MBR based BioFlocs is a very powerful tool to treat sewage wastewater in most stringent of conditions.
