Great organizations learn earlythat they must communicate the

mission & vision effectively.

Integral to this is to understand the needs to be met and

design programs to meetthose needs.

Designing programs is similar to market research. It begins with

a needs assessment.

WHO is doing what?WHO is affected?

WHY should we care?WHAT is at the root of the problem

or issue? HOW long has this been a problem?

DO best practices exist?

To name a few……

When addressing a social problemloop as many people in to get their

opinions, ideas, concerns.BUILD CONSENSUS.

Conduct this interactionin an orderly way - the AGILE method,

or brainstorming, as it issometimes known.

Frame the IssueExplain the importance

Dialogue and Inquire.

Dream, Negotiate, Deliberate

✤ It is critical for 501 C 3 entities to think about & understand Theory of Change.

✤ Build a Logic Model for your program.

Based on the two steps above, then:

1. Make decisions

2. Create a timeline on steps to move forward

Determine how you will measure impact, or the results of your efforts. You must observe, track and analyze changes to participants in your program.

Implementation - the FUN part!

✤ As you move forward with implementation be disciplined & deliberate to learn, adapt and reflect on what you observe, track and analyze on a monthly basis.

✤ Realize that no matter what journey you are on there will be roadblocks and AHA moments. Celebrate them and adjust your course.

501 C 3 organizations must learn to prove and communicate their social value. This can only be done with clear direction and looking at the data.

Communities all around the world look to your pivotal role to makelife better.
