Below you will find instructions on how to install your Hybrid Racing Power Steering Kit
for K-swapped Civics and Integras.

PACKAGE CONTENTS: Reservoir, mounting bracket, suction hose, high pressure line, HR power steering fitting, -8orb to -6
adapter, ½” soft return line, power steering cooler, -6AN to 12x1.00 adapter, -6AN to 14x1.5 adapter
PARTS NEEDED: Small hose clamps, Genuine Honda Power Steering Fluid or compatible, RSX-S power steering pump, stock
return hard line connected to rack.
TOOLS NEEDED: Adjustable wrench, 10mm socket, flathead screwdriver, snips or razor blade to cut hose
1. Mounting the reservoir.
a. EG & DC Chassis
i. The reservoir was designed to be mounted on the upper radiator support rail
behind the passenger side headlight using the stock RSX mounting bracket
included. Mounting the reservoir here allows you to use the stock suction hose to
feed the pump. You may mount the reservoir in a different spot if your engine bay
setup does not allow you to mount it there but you will then need to run your own
hose from the bottom of the reservoir to the pump inlet.
b. EK Chassis
i. There is not much room in the passenger side engine bay on an EK chassis so we
chose to mount the reservoir on the driver side of the engine bay. As the included
suction hose will not fit when the reservoir is mounted here, you will need to run
some hose from the reservoir to your pump.
2. Mounting the P.S. Cooler.
a. Where do I mount the cooler?
i. There are cable mounting ties included with the cooler so it can be easily mounted
to your radiator. If you do not have room on your radiator or want to mount the
cooler in a different location, just make sure there will be airflow moving across the
fins while driving.
b. When mounting, which way should the ports be facing?
i. The easiest way to mount the cooler, generally, is with the ports facing the same
direction as your reservoir. For example, if you have en ek chassis with the
reservoir on the driver side, mount the cooler with the ports facing the driver side of
the vehicle. Since the cooler will always be closer to the reservoir, this will help
prevent the hose from becoming kinked as it will most likely be a much shorter
hose.
3. Installation of fittings and lines
a. Hybrid Racing Power Steering Pump Fitting
i. Included in the power steering kits are HR power steering pump fittings which gives
more hood clearance. There will be a -8orb to -6AN adapter attached to this fitting
which is NOT tight. You will need to put a small amount of oil or grease around the
o-ring before tightening to prevent it from tearing.
b. Power Steering Rack Adapters
i. There will be a -6AN to 12x1.00 adapter and -6AN to 14x1.5 adapter included in
the kits. Depending on which year and model Civic or Integra you have, one of
these adapters will be used to attach your feed line to your steering rack.
c. Feed Line
i. The feed line will have a 45 degree -6AN fitting on one end and a straight -6AN
fitting on the other. Attach the end with the 45 degree fitting to your steering rack
using the appropriate included adapter and leave loose so it can twist freely while
routing the other end of the hose through the engine bay. You will then need to
attach the straight end to the pump fitting. The hose should be long enough to
route against the firewall away from the header. The hose should never be close
to or in contact with the header/exhaust manifold. After you have routed and
connected the feed line, you can now tighten both ends of the line. **Note** On an EG
power steering rack, there will be 3 holes, 1 for the feed line and 2 for return. If looking directly
at the 3 holes from the front of the car, the feed line will be the bottom right hole. The main
return line is the top hole, this is the line that must run through your cooler then back to the
reservoir. The secondary return line is the bottom left hole and must be ran directly back to the
reservoir.
d. Suction Line
i. Included in the kit is a stock RSX suction hose which can be used when mounting
the reservoir on the passenger side behind the head light. If you choose to mount
your reservoir in a different location, you will need to route the hose away from
sharp edges and get the correct amount of hose from your local parts store.
e. Return Line
i. Use the ½” rubber hose included and attach one end to the hard return line coming
from the rack. Run the hose to your power steering cooler and cut off any extra
hose . Use the remaining hose to attach the other open port of your cooler to the
return port on the reservoir. Use hose clamps on all hose ends and make sure
they are tight. **Note** On an EG power steering rack, there will be 3 holes, 1 for the feed line
and 2 for return. If looking directly at the 3 holes from the front of the car, the feed line will be
the bottom right hole. The main return line is the top hole, this is the line that must run through
your cooler then back to the reservoir. The secondary return line is the bottom left hole and
must be ran directly back to the reservoir.
4. Cranking the car
a. Once you have completed the installation you can fill your reservoir with Genuine Honda
Power Steering or compatible fluid and make sure there are no leaks. Go ahead and crank
the car. While the car is running and idling, you will need to add more fluid while moving
the steering wheel back and forth until the reservoir is filled. Once the reservoir is filled,
check under the car to make sure there are no leaks. **BE CERTAIN THAT THE FEED
LINE IS TIGHT AS THE PRESSURE CAN REACH OVER 1000PSI.
