;.2 In you Adoniye, I have taken refuge;

let me never be ashamed, Ever; In yourrighteousness, let me escape.

3 Incline to me your ear, speedily rescue

me, be to me a rock of strength, afortress of defence, to deliver me.

4 For my rock and my fortress are you,and for the sake of Your Name, lead meand guide me.

5 Bring me out of this net which theyhave hidden for me, for You are my

stronghold.

6 Into Your hand, I commit my spirit;

You have liberated me, Adoniye,almighty of truth.

7 I hate those who anticipate [salvationfrom] useless vanities; as for me, inAdoniye do I trust.

8 I will exult and rejoice in Yourkindness, for You have seen myaffliction. You know the troubles of mysoul.

9 And You have not imprisoned me in

the hand of the enemy;[but] stood my

feet in a wide[open] place.

10 Favor me, Adoniye, for I am indistress; dimmed by anger is my eye,

my soul and my stomach [are wastedaway].

11 For my life is spent in sorrow, and

my years in sighing; because of myiniquity

my strength failed, and my bones arewasted away.

12 Because of all my adversaries Ibecame disgraced, and to myneighbours exceedingly; and a dread to

my acquaintance; those who see meoutside flee from me.

13 I am forgotten like a dead man from

the heart, I have become like a lostvessel.

14 For I have heard the whispering of

many, terror all around; when they tookcounsel together against me, they

planned to take my soul[ life].

15 But as for me, in You I have trusted,

Adoniye, I said: "You are my God."

16 In Your hand are my times; rescueme from the hand of my enemies, and

from my pursuers.

17 Shine Your face upon Your servant;

deliver me in Your kindness.

Adoniye, let me not be ashamed forhaving called out to you; let the wicked

[lips] which speak arrogantly against therighteous, with pride and contempt.

20 How abundant is Your goodness

which You have hidden as a treasure forthose who fear You;

which you have for those who take

refuge in You in the presence of thesons of man.

21 Conceal them in the covert of Yourpresence, from bands of the wicked;

hide them in a shelter from the strife oftongues.

22 Blessed is Adoniye for His wondrouskindness He has shown me in a city

besieged.

23 And I said in my haste: "I am cut offfrom before Your eyes,"

but you heard the voice of mysupplications when I cried out to you.

24 Love Adoniye, all His devoted ones;

the faithful, Adoniye preserves. And

He repays with exactness those who acthaughtily.
