Soul ConnectionsOne of the most frequent

situations that I encounter in my work is

people who seemingly get ‘stuck’ at the stage where a soul connection is confirmed.

This often begins with over-whelming emotions, heartbreak, a roller coaster relationship, an immense connection with another person and total confusion as to why this feels as it does and what can be done to ease the pain. It can often be accompanied by signs and indications that this ‘isn’t done’, also known as ‘synchronicity’.

Establishing that someone is experiencing a soul, or karmic con-nection is only the beginning of what can be a very long journey, the duration often depending on ones willingness and ability to embrace the trials and lessons that it brings

and do the work needed to over-come the obstacles.

The problem is that the term ‘soulmate’ is so misused in the media, that when faced with a cli-ent who is distraught and desperate for good news, confirming a soul connection can sometimes do more harm than good.

To a person who doesnt fully understand the dynamics of soul connections, confirmation of such can lead to further heartbreak and sometimes unhealthy obsession. This is where clarity is needed and a willingness to take the good news, (this is a soul connection, you are not going crazy), along with the bad news (this doesnt change until you do and you have MUCH work to do on YOURSELF).

Common problems that arise at this stage:

This is my soulmate, we are des-tined to spend the rest of our lives together and I just have to wait until he / she realises that and comes back to me. In the meantime I will get endless psychic readings to give me the much needed reassurance that he / she IS coming back. All I have to do is sit here and wait. WRONG.

If I get enough psychic readings I will eventually find someone who can tell me WHEN we will reunite, when we will get married and how many children we will have. WRONG.

There is only ONE person in the world that I am destined to spend my life with and there is no one else in the world for me so I have to hold on to this person as they are the only one who can fill my needs, make me feel loved and worthwhile

and bring me happiness. WRONG.Allow me to dispel some of the

myths surrounding soul connec-tions.

A soul mate is anyone whose presence in your life brings growth. Very often they will trigger your deepest issues and insecurities, which can then cause more pain than you ever imagined possible. In many cases, you are unknowingly having the same effect on them, you literally mirror one another.

A common scenario is two peo-ple who meet and feel an immense connection. One of the people has deep insecurities and abandonment issues. They fear rejection and may have experienced it many times in the past. They feel this intense con-nection and they embrace it, but not in a healthy way. Their insecurities mean that they embrace this con-nection in an overpowering, obses-sive, needy way, totally ignoring their own needs, completely lacking personal boundaries and allowing the need to be with this person to overshadow what is actually hap-pening on a day to day basis.

The other person has similar issues, but they manifest in a dif-ferent way. This person is also insecure, fears rejection and abandonment but they dont cling to this connection in the same way. They deal with their deepest fears by running away from anything that has the potential to hurt them. In other words, the moment they feel love, they also feel fear of rejec-tion and to avoid that pain, they seek to escape the situation, often without a word of explanation and frequently just as things appeared to be getting better.

When this happens, it is the worst possible scenario for the per-son who was holding on so tight. All of their fears, insecurities, needs and unresolved issues from the past are immediately brought to the sur-

face and the pain can be immense. EVERYTHING that they feared hits them like a freight train. Everything that they fought so hard to avoid, by holding on to the connection so tightly, hits them all at once.

The thing is that all the time they were acting out their own insecuri-ties and holding on to this person so tightly, they were actually failing to see the other persons fears, in fact they were actively TRIGGERING those fears because the constant giving, lack of healthy boundaries, acceptance of ANY behaviour and clingy neediness was EXACTLY what made this person feel inse-

cure. When

someone associates deeply loving another person with being vulnerable, out of control and at risk of being hurt and aban-doned, then giving love uncon-ditionally is the quickest way to send them reaching for the running shoes.

Both parties in this scenario had deep issues and they were perfectly matched to bring them all to the surface. But this confirmation is just the beginning and very often it is precisely where people get stuck.

First of all we have to get past all the common misconceptions of

what the term ‘soul mate’ actually means. Dating websites often por-tray this encounter as someone very special who is predestined to enter your life and that the two of you will walk off into the sunset hand in hand, and live happily every after. This is further reinforced by fortune tellers who claim they can predict when you will meet this person, what they look like etc. All of them supporting the notion that this will be a perfect trouble free match that will bring you eternal happiness. While a soulmate will often force you to face and address your inner demons, and doing so can bring

you immense growth, it doesnt come gift wrapped with hearts and flowers printed all over it. Change is hard. We are often resistant to it, and if your life is unhappy, then bringing someone new into it, without addressing what made you unhappy in the first place, will often result in two unhappy people. There isnt another person on the planet who can heal what makes you unhappy, but a soul-mate will throw salt in your deep-est wounds and constantly remind you that they are still there and you still need to deal with them.

Too often I find that people just dont want to do the work on them-selves. They hope that things will just change and this person will return and all will be well. Quite often the person DOES indeed return, but guess what? Those issues are still there festering under the sur-face and it wont be long before they explode onto the surface again and everything is right back where it was last time.

Page 10: Psychic Guidepost 2013

How many times do we need to be shown what we need to address before we stop hoping and pretend-ing it isnt there and trying to build what we want without making good the foundations? In an ideal situa-tion we only need to be shown once, but all too often in soul connections we go through endless cycles of pain while we struggle with our own growth.

One of the most common ways I see people getting stuck is when they join forums and chat rooms, buy self help books and seek out people who are experiencing something similar. In the initial stages this can be a com-fort, it can be informative and helpful and ease the pain. But it MUST be balanced with a healthy dose of real-ity.

Misery loves company and sitting in a forum full of lovesick victims over a long period of time is not only unhealthy and depressing, but it can also interrupt personal growth. You know you have a soul connection, you know what you have to do, you know what will happen if you dont do it. Yes others can help and support you and you can offer the same in return but lets keep this in perspec-tive.

Spending all your free time going over and over and OVER what some-one else is doing, how they are feel-ing, why they acted as they did, how much it hurt you etc, is NOT address-ing YOUR ISSUES. Getting readings about what they are thinking and feeling, who they are with and what they are doing is NOT living your life for you, and finding your own per-sonal balance and happiness.

Constantly obsessing over synchro-nicity and listing how many times you saw a car the same as his, how many times you saw the number ’11′ today, how much you dream about him, how you feel his energy, how you KNOW its not over, is NOT healthy. I am NOT suggesting that it

isnt REAL. I am not saying ignore it totally and do not even acknowledge it. I am not denying that there are forces and energies at work that we can only FEEL, but I will leave you with these questions and please, be honest with yourself;

Have you become so caught up in the romance and dynamics of soul connections that you invest more energy there than actu-ally addressing the issues that the connec-tion brought YOU?

Do you spend more time and energy thinking about the connection than concern-ing yourself with the most important person in your life – YOU?

Do you read multiple articles on soul connections but only embrace the parts that allow you to romanticise the connection, while ignoring the parts that urge you to make yourself the priority?

Be honest with yourself – are you STUCK?

Healing HorsesSome people think of horses

as big, dumb, lumbering, animals that take us on hay-

rides or around central park, or as set decorations in a Western movie. A friend of mine said, “I don’t trust horses, they’re brainless and all I think of is how they could kick me or crush my foot.” He couldn’t have been more mistaken. Horses have always been one of my favourite art subjects to sculpt or paint and I gravitate to them because not only are they beautiful and graceful, but also soulful, intuitive and healing animals. One of my earliest memories is of beautiful horses stepping through a foggy, snowy-field early in the morning as the rising sun bathed them and the surrounding snow in a pink and orange glow. Living in the Rocky Mountains and

near the plains where people keep cattle, horses, llamas, sheep and other animals, I grew up around horses and equestrians so it was easy to help with hoof care, cleaning and riding. Over the years working with horses in my art career and through friends, I’ve seen some amazing transformations and healing bonds formed between horses and humans and other animals. No wonder horses symbolize our emotional and spiritual selves in legend and art. They represent our untamed hearts, our potential and power.

The power of horses to heal and connect with others is amazing. Equine therapy and the field of “Equine Assisted Activities” is gaining in popularity for at-risk or troubled teens, survivors of traumatic events, and individuals suffering from emotional,

mental or physical challenges and disabilities. Working with horses changes people on an emotional level and allows the participant to reconnect to themselves by learning to integrate emotionally and spiritually as well as finding confidence, self esteem, leadership, and balance. It’s easy to see why; horses are highly attuned to emotions and the feelings of others and can reflect and mirror them in a way that allows for perspective and growth. Horses can also display uncanny awareness and act in just the right way at just the right time with a keen intuitive “knowing” of what’s needed.

One of our dear friends was an elderly woman who was increasingly immobile, depressed, isolated and losing her freedom bit by bit with the ravages of illness. Every now and then

she’d get to visit a friend’s horse stables to be wheeled up to the gate and watch the horses in the field. One seemingly unfriendly stallion, Dan, wouldn’t let humans get close to him if he didn’t know them well. His pair of owners called him “high strung” and “full of personality”, and he certainly didn’t like to take breaks to dally for nose pets or ear skritches and preferred to be in motion out in the field. And yet, even though he didn’t know her, when this little old lady stopped by the fence his ears pricked up, he came up to the fence and not only let her pet him, but reached his mighty head down to her level and held her in a “horse hug” - his eyes calm, his ears relaxed, his whole body morphing from a tightly wound running machine to a soft and pliable cuddle-giver. She petted his big muzzle and held her arms up to him as best she could and the look on her face was one of old age transmuted into childlike joy. He stayed with her for a long time - until she got too cold to be outside. She felt better though, in fact, she felt so good after her visit with her new horse friend that she even felt strong enough to stand up and walk a little. This day so impacted her that for her remaining years, our friend

carried a picture of Dan to remember that day. I truly believe something in him picked up on her needs and wanted to connect to her because after she left he returned to his usual fast trot and active body language. Horses are marvellous beings with big hearts and a keen awareness of the world around them. The next time you see a horse, think bigger than the movies or the carriage ride and appreciate their healing presence.

Most expert tarot readers are well versed in other areas of divination. Many have a strong understanding of horoscopes, the zodiac and can read tarot cards using a horoscope layout of the cards. The reason an

expert Tarot reader can connect with astrological principals and meanings is because Astrology has the same earth elements that are represented in most traditional Tarot cards. Tarot and Astrology use four elements of Water, Fire, Air and Earth.

For example, Gemini represents an air sign, Taurus and earth, Aries fire, Pisces water and so forth. In a Tarot spread air, fire, water and earth elements are represented by Cups = Water, Swords = Air, Pentacles = earth and Wands = Fire. These symbols represent various ways of expressing energy. Through your energy, the reader is able to pick up spiritual clues to what is happening in your life. The cards representing water reflect feelings, emotion, love. Fire symbolizes imagination, creativity, work issues. Air is connected to with intellect, the capacity to think to make choices. Earth cards are associated with bodily needs, money, housing, jobs, etc. Each force of nature is represented in both the horoscope and tarot.

Reading tarot cards and laying them out in a Zodiac spread can be quite useful when looking at all areas of your life. The practitioner or reader uses 12 cards, each representing the 12 houses in the zodiac. Positioning and layout of a tarot spread is extremely important to the whole reading because the position of where a card falls also has meaning and can bring more insights into your particular question or problem.

Every expert has his or her own method of reading cards with Horoscope spreads, most horoscope spreads are made up of 12 cards.

Most experts are familiar with three basic methods. The first is a layout of 12 cards placed in a circle pattern, shaped as a representation of the Zodiac. (see diagram). All 78 cards in the deck are used when shuffling. Cards are usually placed face down until the practitioner is ready to do the reading. After the 12 cards are chosen, the reader begins to place them from her left and goes around counter clockwise. Each position of the card represents a House in the Zodiac and the cards are read according to the astrological “house” position of the card.

The second method is to use only the suit cards. The suit cards are the strongest representation of earth, air, fire and water. Twelve cards are also used and placed in a circle and read with your sun sign in mind and where your “house” positions are at this particular time in your life.

The third method is to use the Major Arcana –( the 22 trump cards in the tarot deck) These cards represent the

“human condition.” Each card represents the joy and sorrow we all experience as human beings. These cards are particularly good to use if you want a specific question answered. A good reader will choose a card from the Major Arcana that represents your particular problem or part of your journey. This card is placed in the center of the zodiac circle of cards.

It’s always good to remember that Tarot, horoscopes and other divinatory tools are just that. Tools. Connecting to your reader and understanding his or her methods to helping you with the problem is the most important thing. The images and clues we get come from spirit come from our connection to you! So keeping an open mind, and asking questions while someone is doing your reading provides a good flow between you and your reader and opens a channel where all mysteries are revealed! ~ Namaste~

Dear Siobhan,I’m in my late 30’s and I find myself drifting from relationship to relationship. Or from person to person could be a better description. My last real or serious relationship was a few years ago. For the last four or five years, I haven’t met anyone to date, I try to, but it never moves beyond a couple of dates. A lot of times, we never get past online chats or some phone calls or texts after first exchanging online messages. What is wrong with me? I am looking for my soul mate and I feel like I will never meet them. Why is it everyone around me can meet someone to be in a long-term relationship with but I can’t? Will I be alone forever?--Lonely

Dear Lonely, Let’s put this notion of a “soul mate” to rest. It’s time this concept was harpooned, burned and its ashes given an unceremonious burial in the depths of the darkest sea. This idea was, no doubt, planted in your head by years of Disney movies and silly movies like “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” that have fostered unhealthy notions of relationship roles. I’ll clue you in: it’s neither to be a rude, chest beating neanderthal nor a self-deprecating door mat. For all I can’t tell you, Lonely, what I can tell you with almost 100% certainty is that one, your approach is wrong and two, your target audience is wrong. Reverse that order because first, your target audience, or demographic, shall we say, is wrong. You don’t go

to a salad bar in search of Wagyu beef do you? Clearly you have been so let’s correct that behavior. First, don’t go searching for a long-term relationship at a bar or on a dating website. Sure, you may find someone to date and it may turn into a long-term, wonderful relationship, but the probability is not in your favor. Next, when you do find someone with potential and you go out on a date, modify your approach. Balance your previous approach, you know the one where you a) either jumped into bed with them 5 minutes after meeting them and/or b) politely sharing all of your most private details, including all of your medical history and then, moving on to how you’ve already picked out the church, wedding dress and ring for your upcoming wedding, which you’ve planned for three months from now.At this juncture, I’m going to derail for a moment and do something dangerous. I’m going to assume the writer of this question is female. I know we are in the age of female empowerment. Regardless of what a woman chooses to do, I personally pass no judgment. I am not saying there is anything wrong with choosing to sleep with someone on the first date. That is perfectly fine. However, do expect that normal stereotypes will follow and that quite often means that a) the guy will not contact you again or b) if and when he does, it will be only for the purpose(s) of getting physical. You may counter “But if I don’t, he may not call at all..” this is true, but he may have only been seeking a

physical encounter to start with. In other words, Lonely, if you want to find someone you can build a long-term relationship with, meet them organically by getting involved in things you enjoy doing. If you don’t have many friends or if friends of your current friends are all attached, meet new friends by getting involved in things you enjoy doing. Join local clubs and activities you like or even think you may like. Don’t join them just to meet people to date, that’s too obvious. Engage people on a natural level in these settings. Then you can get to know people in these new groups who could be dating material and you can meet friends of theirs who could have dating potential. Remember, people were meeting each other long before there was an Internet and dating sites. The world is your oyster, you just have to know which ones have the best pearls.

I’ve always had a fascination for metaphysics; first having a precognitive dream at around

5, and then being introduced to tea leaf reading by my great grandmother at age 10! At 13, I began reading Tarot cards for friends and family. Throughout junior high and high school; I read and attended classes regularly, expanding my talents, developing others, and meeting great mentors along the way.Further into adulthood, I’ve deepened

my metaphysical studies with Reiki, herbalism, aromatherapy, crystals, energy work, astrology, Feri, Angels, Past Lives etc. I’ve personally worked and trained with many psychics, teach-ers, and healers throughout MANY moves cross country, and I know what it means to be a Lightworker on a per-sonal and professional level. Now in my 30s, I still continue my

tion and insight into your ever-chang-ing life, what paths are available and how it will effect others directly. Tarot is based on the principle of synchronic-ity. It’s symbolism will relate to every-day activities within your life. While it does give it’s guidance

and clarification, the Tarot is also extremely enjoyable and entertaining! It is an empowering way of divining your soul’s purpose while navigating through life’s many twists and turns!During a channeling session, guid-

been attuned Reiki I & II by Chrystal Moon in Denver and then with Diane Stein. Reiki is a Japanese healing art developed by Mikao Usui. Reiki can relieve pain, heal energy imbalances, and MUCH more. I’ve been an ordained minister for the

last 10 years. I’ve been concentrating more in this field while counseling others in finding the truth in their beliefs. I was a student of the late Gabriel Carrillo (Caradoc), and also Sara Reeder (Mercuria) when study-ing the Feri path. I’ve studied various rites of passage from many religious systems and adapted celebrations and studies to respect all faiths and belief systems. I believe my faith and beliefs stem from knowing we all are con-nected.I really enjoy using astrology within

many readings and healing therapies. 20 - Winter 2012

AriesMarch 21 - April 20 You’ll be rolling with the big dogs this month, thanks to some powerful planetary lineups affecting both your career and financial sectors. Your ruler (Mars) and Pluto are elevated and moving through your professional sector from the beginning of the month. You may feel like you’re under greater public scrutiny, but you should come out smelling like a rose -- as these planets are both well placed and well aspected for the better part of the month. Mercury, Venus, Saturn and the North Node are all moving through your 8th house – the area related to sex, death, joint resources and personal transformation. You’ll likely have dealings with each of these areas throughout the month, but these are also favorably aspected. This is a better time for saving and investing than it is for spending, even in the midst of the Holiday season. A message from afar comes on the 10th, followed by good news on the 15th. You’re also in line for some recognition in the work-force closer to the 21st. All in all this month should be favorable for you professionally so work on manifesting your career aspirations as you prepare for the year ahead. Moon in Aries: Dec 20, 21, 22

TaurusApril 21 - May 21 You’ll be spending the better part of the month ironing out the kinks in your relationships, even if that means ending some long-standing affiliations. This includes relationships with friends and family members, as the planets moving through your relationship sector now are forcing big changes to all of your social connections. This area relates

December Horoscopes

to “open enemies,” too – so don’t be surprised if conflicts with those on your “frienemy” radar come to a head. Saturn (the lord of karma and the great “task master”) has just entered this sector for the first time in 29 yrs. The Sun, Mercury and North Node are there at the early part of the month but move out – one at a time – by month’s end. This as a time of reaping what you’ve sewn (karmically), but also of forging new connections. On the 15th, Venus (your ruler) changes signs and moves into a hard aspect with Neptune. You’ll be taking off your rose colored glasses and seeing someone’s true colors at this time. Pay attention to the 20th and 22nd too, as a time for resolving old conflicts and salvaging damaged relationships.Moon in Taurus: Dec 22, 23, 24, 25

GeminiMay 22 - June 21 You’ll have your work cut out for you this month – literally – with a preponderance of planets in your work, career and financial sectors. You could be juggling careers, taking night classes or launching one business while punching the clock at another. These transits are powerful: you can get a lot accomplished as long as you stay focused which in and of itself may be a problem. Jupiter is retrograde in your sign right now, meaning that you’re likely to experience some missteps and do-overs. It’s also in direct opposition to the Sun at the beginning of the month. You may be distracted by relationships; in particular those you’re trying to repair. You could be attempting to reignitea faltering relationship around the 10th when your ruler (Mercury) moves into that sector. You could be on the verge

of starting something new on the 13th when the New Moon occurs. Or you could be circling back toward an old flame around the 15th when Venus joins in. You’ll have to decide where you want to focus your energy, as both of these areas figure prominently and both can interfere with the other. Moon in Gemini: Dec 25, 26, 27

CancerJune 22 - July 22 Don’t let your imagination run away with you this month, especially with those you’ve developed close relationships with. A Scorpio stellium in your romance sector and a Mars/Pluto conjunction in your relationship sector can ignite sparks of suspicion, distrust and even outright paranoia. The good news is that your love life is going to be “active” this month. You certainly won’t be bored. But it’s not likely to run smoothly for the first couple weeks, starting on the 1st when the Moon (in your sign) opposes Mars and Pluto, and continuing through to the New Moon on the 13th. Your relationship rulers (Saturn and Pluto) are in favorable aspect and are both in “serious” signs, but it’s not the time to force your partner’s hand. Any sort of pressuring during this time is likely to backfire, so try to sit back and let things unfold naturally. You want to take care of your health between the 17th and 22nd as stress-related problems take root if your immune system is compromised. The Full Moon on the 29th falls in your sign and should see you back on top of the world. Moon in Cancer: Dec 1, 2, 27, 28, 29, 30

LeoJuly 23 - August 23 You may feel yourself pulled in two different directions this month with respect to your relationships. With your ruler (the Sun) in opposition to Jupiter (your romance ruler) at the start of the month, you’re unlikely

to find yourself on the same page (romantically) with another. This is reinforced by the fact that these planets are stretched across your friends and lovers sectors. A friend may express a hidden romantic interest or a lover might decide they’d rather just be friends. Either way you’re not likely to be in sync with those you’re closest to – at least in the early part of the month. A lineup of planets below the horizon may see you running for cover and deciding to stick closer to home until the 10th. At that point Mercury moves into your romance sector, followed by the New Moon on the 13th and Venus on the 15th. You’d do well to hold off on any new romantic conquests until that time. You might start yearning to express yourself creatively, either through art, music or the written word. Rely on your intuition (rather than intellect) for source material. Moon in Leo: Dec 2, 3, 4, 5, 30, 31

VirgoAugust 24 - September 22 You’re doing a lot of social networking this month – whether that relates to online interactions or just bouncing back and forth between all of your ties with friends and family. You may find yourself called upon to pitch in with other people’s projects as you’re going to be seen as a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. The odds of your saying “yes” to everyone and of biting off more than you chew are high, especially between the 3rd and the 12th. If you’re not careful you can wind up getting sick as you’re more apt to push yourself to the limit rather than let anyone down. You’ve got a ton of energy which could be put to use productively if you’re quick enough to funnel into something that grabs your interest. An on-line community, website, or volunteer opportunity are all excellent options. This should be a very intuitive period for you as well:

you’re seeing how symbols that are reflected in the outside world apply directly to your life (synchronistically) now. Pay attention to your dreams and record your interpretations; they could come in handy for problem solving later on. Moon in Virgo: Dec 5, 6, 7

LibraSeptember 23 - October 23 You’re taking a serious look at money this month – as in how you make it, save it, spend it and blow it. As the end of the year creeps up on you, you’re trying to get a handle on things – either out of personal necessity or due to a developing sense of responsibility. You’ve got 4 planets (including your ruler, Venus) moving through your financial sector and your money planet (Pluto) conjunct Mars in Capricorn. As these planets form favorable (sextile) aspects to one another, it’s all about putting a plan into action and sticking to it. You’re looking at your values in general – i.e., what’s important to you beyond material concerns. You may be surprised at the things you learn about yourself this month. What you have to offer others (as in a assistance or charitable donations) are also considered. Starting around the 10th, your personal planets move into your communications sector. This would be a good time for taking a class, learning a new language or submitting your work for publication. You can also use this time to join up with others to develop group goals. Moon in Libra: Dec 7, 8, 9

ScorpioOctober 24 - November 22 You may feel like you’re re-inventing yourself this month, with several planets – including Saturn after

Page 22: Psychic Guidepost 2013

22 - Winter 2012

a 29 year hiatus -- lining up in your sign. At the same time, your co-rulers (Mars and Pluto) join together in your thoughts and ideas sector, heralding a time for deep personal reflection and introspection. The last few weeks have probably not been easy – with Mercury retrograding through your sign as well as an eclipse, but you’re starting to move past all that now. It may feel like a sort of baptism for you as you’ve come through some treacherous waters and are washed clean at the other side. But Pluto and Saturn are in mutual reception now, as are Mercury and Jupiter (as of the 10th) and Mars and Uranus (as of 25th), making for a smoother transition. Others are looking up to you at this time and may ask you to step into a position of authority. With Mercury moving into your money sector on the 10th, you may also be in line for a raise. You should see your earlier efforts start to pay off over the last week of the month. Moon in Scorpio: Dec 9, 10, 11

SagittariusNovember 23 - December 21 “Rise above” should be your mantra this month as you’re going be confronted with situations that you have no control over. Although you’re usually a very hands-on person who will go out of your way to help others, you’re seeing that you can’t always change things and that it’s sometimes best to stand back and let them unfold on their own. Between your retrograde ruling planet and the lineup of planets in your “hidden” (12th) house, you’ll be less visible socially and much more active behind the scenes. There may be conflict in your personal relationships too – again that Jupiter retrograde – and this is a prime example of how “doing nothing” can be the best possible course of action. Mercury (your relationship ruler) moves into your sign – and in mutual reception with Jupiter – on the 10th. The New Moon takes place there on the 13th and Venus joins in on the 15th. You’ll start feeling more sociable and more ready to step back into the limelight

around this time. Even so, these transits have brought you a heightened level of awareness that you’ll be carrying with you in the coming weeks. Moon in Sagittarius: Dec 11, 12, 13

CapricornDecember 22 - January 20 You’re moving people in and out of your life now with break-neck speed. You start the month with a line-up of planets -- Mercury, Venus, Saturn (your ruler) and the North Node – all in your 11th house: the sector related to friends and acquaintances. At the same time, Pluto and Mars are moving through your sign and your “personal identity” sector. The combination of these influences makes for some important decisions regarding where you fit into the world (11th house) and how you see yourself (1st house). Another way of looking at it is drawing a line between where other people end and where you begin. You may have been feeling overburdened with other people’s problems and decide you want to eliminate them from your life. But at the same time, new people are coming in – important connections – who could become life-long friends. You’re fine-tuning your own sense of self right now, and in doing so will align yourself with those who are more in keeping with the new and improved “you.” You’re likely to tie up the month with a whole new set of friends, who will see you into the New Year. Moon in Capricorn: Dec 13, 14, 15

AquariusJanuary 21 - February 18 You’ll be wearing many different hats this month, and most of them somehow related to your professional aspirations. Whether this means working your regular “day job” and doing something on the side; or putting in the extra hours that are needed to jump start your career, you’re likely to be burning the candle at both ends. You may have been standing in the shadows and are surprised to find yourself suddenly whisked into the public arena. Or you may be the benefactor

of someone else’s discerning eye. Either way it’s time to step up and receive the recognition that is your due. If you’ve taken a risk it’s bound to pay off in the form of a promotion or a raise. These transits are favorable for “business” overall, and that includes your finances. The 13th, 15th and 25th are all important dates: the 13th because your ruler (Uranus) turns direct; the 15th because the Moon enters your sign, and the 25th because Mars enters your sign and forms a mutual reception to Uranus. These are all auspicious aspects and should increase your visibility, while at the same time increasing your public stature. Moon in Aquarius: Dec 15, 16, 17

PiscesFebruary 19 - March 20 You’re learning to have a little more faith in yourself, thanks to the faith that others have put in you in recent weeks. Your ruler, at zero degrees now, has just barely stepped into your sign. And after months of moving retrograde, is finally moving forward for you again. You may still feel like a babe in the woods, but thanks to support from several other planets, you realize you’re never alone. Chiron, which is also in your sign, acts as a powerful reminder that you have an impact on those around you and can make things better for them. You may have suffered a recent financial set-back though – thanks to a hard aspect between your financial ruler (Mars) and Uranus in your money sector. But that’s behind you now, although it isn’t a call to start spending frivolously. Business should start picking up for you around the 10th, which means your financial situation should also improve. As Mercury, Venus, the Sun and New Moon (on the 15th) all move into your career sector, opportunities in this area should start opening up for you and rounding out your month. Moon in Pisces: Dec 17, 18, 19, 20

in Al Ra’d 13:11: “For each [person], there are angels in front of him and behind him, who guard him by Allah’s command.”

Praying for PeopleYour guardian angel may be constantly praying for you, asking God to help you even when you’re not aware that an angel is interceding in prayer on your behalf. The Catholic Church’s catechism says of guardian angels: “From infancy to death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession.” Buddhists believe that angelic beings called bodhisattvas who watch over people listen to people’s prayers and join in with the good thoughts that people pray.

If you believe in guardian angels, like most Americans do, you probably wonder what kind of divine assignments these hardworking spiritual beings fulfill. People throughout recorded history have presented some fascinating ideas

about what guardian angels are like and what different types of jobs they do.Lifetime Guardians

Guardian angels watch over people during their entire lives on Earth, many different religious traditions say. Ancient Greek philosophy claimed that guardian spirits were assigned to each person for life, and so did Zoroastrianism. Belief in guardian angels who God charges with lifetime care of humans is also a vital part of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Protecting PeopleAs their name implies, guardian angels are often seen as working to guard people from danger. The ancient Mesopotamians looked to guardian spirit beings called the shedu and the lamassu to help protect them from evil. In Matthew 18:10 of the Bible, Jesus mentions that children have guardian angels protecting them. Mystic and writer Amos Komensky, who lived during the 17th century, wrote that God assigns guardian angels to help protect children “against all dangers and snares, pits, ambushes, traps, and temptations.” But adults get the benefit of guardian angels’ protection, too, says the Book of Enoch, which is included in the holy scriptures of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. 1 Enoch 100:5 declares that God will “set a guard of holy angels over all the righteous.” The Qur’an says

Page 25: Psychic Guidepost 2013

Psychic Guidepost- 25

Guiding PeopleGuardian angels may also be guiding your path in life. In Exodus 32:34 of the Torah, God tells Moses as Moses is preparing to lead the Hebrew people to a new place: “my angel will go before you.” Psalm 91:11 of the Bible says of angels: “For he [God] will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” Popular literary works have sometimes portrayed the idea of faithful and fallen angels offering good and bad guidance, respectively. For example, the famous 16th century play The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus featured both a good angel and a bad angel, who offer conflicting advice.

Recording DeedsIslam and Sikhism both say that every person has two guardian angels for his or her earthly lifetime, and those angels record both the good and bad deeds that the person performs.

Do you believe that you have a guardian angel? If so, have you ever met him or her? Visit our forum to discuss guardian angels, or email a brief story about a time when your guardian angel helped you to: [email protected] (please include the story in the email text rather than as an attachment).

Connecting to your angelsAnswer: Asking an Angel for help is one of our most power spiritual practices. We can ask the Angels for immediate help at any time and in any place. A Jewish proverb says that “Every blade of grass has an Angel bending over it saying. ‘Grow, Grow!” Just as every person has one or more Guiding Angels that help and assist them, every human activity – partnerships, businesses, organizations

and relationships - also have one or more Angels that preside over offerings of grace, assistance and blessings for them. Call upon your Angels whenever you are need. Here are some tips that will help you:

Tips For Connecting With Your Angels

Ask for help – Angels offer us help 24/7; the more receptive we are, the more help they can give us. If you diminish your receptivity you limit the Angels ability to help you. Create your own invocations, or prayers, that specifically call for the help you need. Realize that when you call upon an Angel, that what really happens is that you open yourself into greater receptivity to their assistance. (see www.AskAnAngel.org for examples of invocations that begin the Angel Messages there.)

Realize yourself as fully worthy of Angelic assistance. Angels work with everyone regardless of personal histories and beliefs. Angels are infinite and omnipresent – your request does not diminish them in anyway nor does it affect there ability to be with and help everyone else at the same time. They exist beyond our experience of time and space. The respond to everyone with complete unconditional love

Connect with your inner divine child as you call upon the Angels and ask for help. Your inner divine child is whole, innocent and true - and recognizes Angels as true and trustworthy gifts of Creator. This will help create openness, receptivity, excitement, eagerness and wonder as you prepare to receive the gift your Angels have prepared for you.

Hand everything over to the Angels during your time of invocation and prayer. Every issue, problem, worry and fear as well as every good intention and positive outcome you imagine as

the result of your request. Release all expectations of how your request will be answered.

Express Appreciation and Gratitude – Find and express genuine appreciation and gratitude for things exactly as they are. If you are struggling with this, ask the Angels to help you to find the love that is present in whatever difficulty you are facing. Have patience with this and let go of any expectation of how the love may be revealed to you.

Know that it is done – Every prayer is answered and grace is always given. If you fear that your prayer will not be answered, then ask for help in understanding and seeing more clearly. Trust that you will see the love in every answered prayer. You are known completely and loved unconditionally by the Angels and nothing that will serve you is ever withheld from you.

Act quickly on the guidance you receive – accept the opportunity and act upon it immediately. Angelic help is infinite and unlimited – you can not use it up or run out of it. You cannot ask for ‘too much’ and the Angels are joyously happy to give to you without limit. The faster you act, the faster you receive more assistance!

Celebrate yourself exactly as you are in the moment. Leave any critical judgments or negative feelings about yourself, your life, or others in the hands of the Angels for healing. Even if it is just for a few moments, let go of everything that is not of love for yourself and everything around you. In this moment of surrender much more can done for you by the Angels than you can accomplish on your own. Thank yourself and the Angles for deepening and the relationship between you.

True Stories of Reincarnation

Lucy and the tramA little girl, by the name of Lucy Allison lived in a town called Grimsby, located in the north east of England. The child was out with her mother one day shopping in the city center, when she suddenly asked if this was where the trams used to go. There were no tramlines nearby, so her mother asked her why she had said this. To her surprise, Lucy replied, “I used to go this way on the trolley cars with my other mummy.”

When they arrived home from their shopping trip, Mrs. Allison told the story to her own mother, and was surprised to learn that old trams had indeed traveled down that street back in the 1920s.

As time went by, Lucy and her mother both forgot the incident until, many years later, 19-year old Lucy had a strangely vivid dream in which she was arguing with her boyfriend. The dream ended with her storming off in anger, only to feel a sudden and sharp pain in her side.

Lucy thought nothing of the dream, but a few weeks later, it returned. This time, she was dressed in 1920s clothing and was traveling on an old trolley car. She and her boyfriend were arguing with one another and she stormed off and tried to leave the tram before her stop. Her boyfriend called out. She looked back, suddenly everyone on the

tram was shouting. She didn’t realize why until it was too late: the tram from the other direction hit and killed her instantly.

Lucy was upset with the dream and she discussed it with her mother who suggested they visit a medium. The medium took Lucy back to a past life in which she had been a girl named Anne, who traveled to work on the tram every morning.

The morning she had dreamed of was her birthday. She was planning a party, but her boyfriend had wanted to take her out alone. He said it was important, but she refused and left him, only to be knocked down and killed. They discovered Anne’s boyfriend had wanted to propose to her. At her funeral, the ring he had purchased for her was buried with her.

Lucy was relieved that she knew where the dream had come from. Her mother asked if she wanted to check it out at the record office, but Lucy declined. She now felt at peace with her past self.

The fear of firePhobias can sometimes be traced to trauma in a past life. In another interesting story, Catherine is shocked to discover that her fear of fire is linked to a secret from another time.

As a child, Catherine Dowling was terrified of fire, which her mother put down to the fact that she once burned her hand on the stove. One day when she was walking to a friend’s house through unfamiliar part of town, she felt a sudden shock. She was walking past a number of burned-out houses, homes which had been destroyed by German bombs during the second World War.

As Catherine looked at a smashed window, she suddenly found herself

crying as she remembered a dream she had some years before, she had stolen her brother’s toy clown, but the house started burning, and they both died before she could give it back to him.

She checked at the record office a few days later and discovered that two children had died during bombing in that street in the war. She bought a toy clown and left it in the old house, and her guilt was eased, so Catherine was able to apologize to a brother she had wronged in a previous life.

Civil War taleJeffrey Keane, retired Assistant Fire Chief in Westport, Connecticut, had never read a book or magazine on the American Civil War, yet when visiting a Civil War battlefield, he was struck with an “anxiety reaction.” He could not breathe, started crying, and thought he was having a heart attack. After about half an hour, Jeffrey

made his way back to the car, without telling his wife what had happened, not understanding it himself. About eighteen months later, a psychic he met at a party asked if he believed in reincarnation. She told him he had died at the place he had the anxiety reaction, the location of the Battle of Antietam (also known as the Battle of Sharpsburg).

The next day, Jeffrey began to do research about the Civil War period. He was looking through a book and found a photograph of a Civil War General, by the name of John B. Gordon, whose face was almost identical to Jeffery’s. Upon further examination, Jeffery discovered that he shared similar body “marks.” Jeffery had a “birthmark” in the exact spot on his cheek where Gordon was wounded in the face. He also shared the same cut of ‘beard” and shape of head. Gordon had died at the Battle of Sharpsburg where Jeffery had the anxiety attack.

This is a story that the old ones have been telling to children for hundreds of years. It is a sad tale, but it lives strong in

the memories of the people, and there are many who swear that it is true.Long years ago in a humble little vil-

lage there lived a fine looking girl named Maria Some say she was the most beauti-ful girl in the world! And because she was so beautiful, Maria thought she was better than everyone else.As Maria grew older, her beauty

increased And her pride in her beauty grew too When she was a young woman, she would not even look at the young men from her village. They weren’t good enough for her! “When I marry,” Maria would say, “I will marry the most hand-some man in the world.”And then one day, into Maria’s village

rode a man who seemed to be just the one she had been talking about. He was a dashing young ranchero, the son of a wealthy rancher from the southern plains. He could ride like a Comanche! In fact, if he owned a horse, and it grew tame, he would give it away and go rope a wild horse from the plains. He thought it wasn’t manly to ride a horse if it wasn’t half wild.He was handsome! And he could play

the guitar and sing beautifully. Maria made up her mind-that was, the man for her! She knew just the tricks to win his attention. If the ranchero spoke when they met on

the pathway, she would turn her head away. When he came to her house in the evening to play his guitar and serenade her, she wouldn’t even come to the window. She refused all his costly gifts. The young man fell for her tricks. “That haughty girl, Maria, Maria! “ he said to himself. “I know I can win her heart. I swear I’ll marry that girl.”And so everything turned out as Maria

planned. Before long, she and the ranche-ro became engaged and soon they were

The tale of the weeping womanmarried. At first, things were fine. They had two children and they seemed to be a happy family together. But after a few years, the ranchero went back to the wild life of the prairies. He would leave town and be gone for months at a time. And when he returned home, it was only to visit his children. He seemed to care nothing for the beautiful Maria. He even talked of setting Maria aside and marrying a woman of his own wealthy class. As proud as Maria was, of course she

became very angry with the ranchero. She also began to feel anger toward her children, because he paid attention to them, but just ignored her.One evening, as Maria was strolling

with her two children on the shady pathway near the river, the ranchero came by in a carriage. An elegant lady sat on the seat beside him. He stopped and spoke to his children, but he didn’t even look at Maria. He whipped the horses on up the street. When she saw that, a terrible rage

filled Maria, and it all turned against her children. And although it is sad to tell, the story says that in her anger Maria seized her two children and threw them into the river! But as they disappeared down the stream, she realized what she had done! She ran down the bank of the river, reaching out her arms to them. But they were long gone. The next morning, a traveler brought

word to the villagers that a beautiful woman lay dead on the bank of the river. That is where they found Maria, and they laid her to rest where she had fallen. But the first night Maria was in the

grave, the villagers heard the sound of crying down by the river. It was not the wind, it was La Llorona crying. “Where are my children?” And they saw a woman walking up and down the bank of the river, dressed in a long white robe, the way they had dressed Maria for burial. On many a dark night they saw her walk the river bank and cry

for her children. And so they no longer spoke of her as Maria. They called her La Llorona, the weeping woman. And by that name she is known to this day. Children are warned not to go out in the dark, for, La Llorona might snatch them and never return them.

until chocolate hardens.5. With a small cookie cutter, cut hearts out of chocolate, and place on top of cake. Freeze cake until ready to serve.

Makes one 9-inch cake, or 10 to 12 servings.

Lavender Cookies1/2 cup unsalted butter1 cup sugar2 eggs1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract1/2 teaspoon dried lavender blossoms, finely chopped1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour2 teaspoons baking powder

Preheat oven to 375F. In a med. bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, vanilla, and lavender: mix well. Combine the flour and baking powder and add to the lavender mixture. Stir until will blended. Drop by teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake eight to 10 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges. Let cookies cool.

Rose Petal, Chamomile, and Lavendar Jelly1 cup tightly pressed rose petals1/8 cup crushed chamomile1/4 cup crushed lavendar1 pack dry pectin3 1/2 cups water4 cups sugar

Hothouse roses are fine for this jelly, but home grown or wild roses are best. I found a wild primrose bush with lovely pink and white petals, growing next to honeysuckle. If you do find wild roses, be aware of what’s growing around it...poison ivy isn’t the best added flavor.Thoroughly clean the petals, making sure all of the little bugs aren’t in your mixture. Mix them with the chamomile and lavendar, then add the boiling water, to cover all of the ingredients.

Cover the pot, let it stand for one hour.

Strain the floral matter from the liquid twice with a cheesecloth, making sure all that you have is pure liquid. The petals, chamomile, and lavendar make an excellant facial poltice for tired eyes and oily skin. Add the pectin to the liquid and bring to a boil, then add all of the sugar at once, stirring carefully but quickly. Bring to a rolling boil for one minute, stirring constantly, then remove from heat. Remove as much foam as you can from the top, otherwise, you have funky white clouds in you jelly. Stir for a few minutes, until the mixture starts to cool, then pour into hot, clean jars for canning. Old jelly jars with their lids work wonderfully for this. Be careful pouring! I missed the jar and slopped near-boiling sugar and pectin all over my thumb, it’s *quite* painful! Let your jelly stand for one hour in the jars, then put them in the fridge to hasten their setting. Depending on the size of your jars, you should have edible jelly one hour after putting them in the fridge. The color of you rose petals determines the color of your jelly. With my pink and white primroses, I got a lovely reddish-golden color, and a delicate taste. This jelly complements jasmine tea, as well as lavendar and chamomile, even plain old Lipton.

Throughout the 20th and into the 21st we have been at the cusp of two astrological eras, the Age of

Pisces and Age of Aquarius. The Age of Pisces brought humanity into a different consciousness. For 2000 years it explained our existence. It was the rise of Christian philosophy (fish representing early Christians). Christianity explained how the world

worked, but religion has lost its ground to secular government as history and society come under the influence of the intellectual Aquarius sign.

Today more than ever we are linked through television, satellite and the Internet. Through this media, we have come to see how we are more similar than different. All the drastic modern

changes in the past 100 years from the mass production of cars to the changing of the social climate reflect the dawn of this age. Women and minorities are gaining power, more than ever before, and the cry today is “inclusion” not exclusion as so many were during the time of strict religious dogma and philosophies.

TRANSITION INTO THE AGE OF AQUARIUS

The economic crisis is just one of many transitions humanity will be experiencing as the “Age of Aquarius” begins.

The main difference of the Age of Aquarius, which should last 2,000 years is that the level of human consciousness will be raised. Destruction of greed and other deadly sins are eliminated during this time, according to prophets like Edgar Cayce and Sai Baba. The economic crisis now is something that has to happen in order to see greed for what it really is and eliminate it. It could be we will suffer through hard times, but it brings us closer to an awakening taking us into a world of peace and harmony. It may not happen in our lifetime, but at least it is a beginning.

According to Dane Rudhyar in his book, ‘Astrological Timing of the Transition to the New Age’, the incoming Age of Aquarius, calculated to be from the year 2060, there will be a return to the principles of the great spiritual teachers. Spiritual teachers for the past 2000 years like, Jesus, Buddha, Pythagoras, Lao Tse and Confucius represent the seed period of the Age of Pisces. These teachings are already starting to take place and many teachers are coming up today to show us the way to enlightment. Among these are: Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Deepak Chopra and many others. They are bringing up the teachings of the old masters, so in a way we are experiencing a renaissance in spiritual philosophy.

Each Age has a seed period – at the turn of the 20th century there appeared Illuminati such as Helena Blavatsky who founded the Theosophical Society, and wrote books under the guidance

of the Masters of Wisdom as did Alice Bailey who established an esoteric school and the International Goodwill Movement. Other great spiritual teachers dedicated to reviving the Ancient Wisdom teachings include the Indian sage, Krishnamurti, Rudolph Steiner who founded the Anthroposophical movement, and Roberto Assagioli who formulated Psychosynthesis, a transpersonal form of psychotherapy with branches worldwide that focuses on aligning the

personality Self with the Higher Self.

The financial and credit crisis of 2008 has reshaped the financial services industry dramatically in the United States and worldwide. The impact of recent events such as the illiquidity in the credit markets, bank failures, central bank and government response to rescue financial institutions will continue to affect these companies and their customers for years to come. For some, there are many business challenges and difficult decisions ahead. For others, there may be opportunities

to expand geographically or into new businesses.

As we enter into this age, we start to see a need for preserving the earth. Attention to old teachings from ancient people like Lao Tse, Jesus and Buddha will come to life and during ‘this” particular age is when we will learn that the only way to live happily is to be of service to one another, which is the total opposite of greed.

Some investment banking industries will diversify and go green, the focus will be to serve others and preserve the planet, rather than focusing on the bottom-line. It’s in this transition that we are learning what is truly important, thus getting closer to God, or to creating a heaven on earth. What we are experiencing now are the growing pains. Our perception of what is going on, our way of looking at money is about to change.

This change is what the New Age is all about.
