    Welcome to PTU!

    Pokmon Tabletop United is a Roleplaying Game, like Dungeons and Dragons or other

    similar systems. We're going to assume you know what Roleplaying Games are, and are

    familiar with game dice and related jargon.

    PTU takes you to the world of Pokmon, allowing you to create Pokmon Trainers. Your

    GM is responsible for creating an adventure in a Pokmon World whether it's Pokmon

    in Space, Pokmon in the High Seas, or a simple game about Trainers travelling a region

    and collecting badges and aiming to become Pokmon Masters.

    This Document gives you the rules necessary to any and all of these, and much more.

    Unlike in the Video Games, your Trainer contributes significantly to this experience. If

    this is your first time browsing this manual, I recommend skipping to page 52 to the first

    Class, Ace Trainer, and reading all the Class Descriptions to get an idea of what kind of

    game this can be.

    Please read the 'Version Notes' section at the very end of this document for a list of

    changes, notes, warnings, or advice particular to this edition.

    Pokmon Tabletop United and Pokmon Tabletop Adventures:

    Pokmon Tabletop United is a parallel successor to Pokmon Tabletop Adventures. While

    many of the character options are similar, PTU is structurally very different from PTA.

    Trainers and Pokmon both have the same Stats, and can both benefit from Combat

    Stages. DnD Str/Dex/Con etc. Stats are nowhere to be found. And perhaps the biggest

    difference however, is that PTU introduces Skills into setting.

    comments here and there throughout this document, to clarify tricky rules, point out

    certain things, give my advice, or make suggestions to make your life easier.

    Chapter 1: Game Mechanics

    This fabulous Chapter contains every contains the bulk of the mechanical information needed to run a game of PTU. In

    other words, all the extremely necessary but boring stuff!

    You should read "The Very Basics" at the very least before you attempt to create a character; the rest you can

    browse more casually or learn as you play!

    If you're just browsing this PDF for the first time and want to dive into the fun stuff, I recommend jumping ahead to

    page 52 and reading the class descriptions that precede the Feature List for each class.

    Anyway, onto the gritty mechanical stuff. Let's just establish two golden rules;

    #1 Always Round Down. If a calculation results in a decimal, round down to the nearest whole number, even if

    the decimal is at .5 or higher. 3.9999 would round down to 3.

    #2 Specific Beats General. A common standby of just about any tabletop game. You got this. But basically,

    there's a lot of general rules and then a lot of specific uses or exceptions to those rules within certain parameters.
