Term 2 Welcome to Term 2. The calendar is rapidly filling up with lots of different events and activities for our students. Please note that all notes will be sent out on the Skoolbag App with the only the notes which need to be signed and returned being printed and sent home. Keep an eye on the Upcoming Events column in the fortnightly bulletin as well. Welcome Harvey

Mrs Gibbons welcomed a bouncy baby boy on Easter Sunday. She has named him Harvey and both mum and bub are doing well.

Easter Hat Parade What a fabulous way to finish off Term 1. It was so exciting to see so many family members and friends come along to the first school event that has been open to the community in what feels like a really long time! Even a little rain on our parade couldn’t dampen our spirits. The P&C raffle was an enormous success and it was the perfect way to welcome the Easter break. Change of Sporting House Names The responses to last year’s survey in regard to changing the names of our sporting houses were overwhelmingly in favour of going ahead with the change. Out of School Hours Care As you may be aware, OOSHCare have been awarded the contract to provide out of school hours care here at Minmi PS. They are currently taking enrolments and plan to commence operations on Monday, 19th April. There are enrolment packs available at the school office or you can contact them directly on [email protected] or by calling Chris on 0428 380 491. Dance 2bfit All students will be taking part in the Dance 2bfit program as part of school sport this term. The Program is energetic, innovative and a fun way for our students to get fit and learn the latest funky dance styles to popular music tracks. This is a great program to improve the fitness levels of students while they are having a great time

Students will be taught a new dance every lesson over the 10 week program. Each student will also receive a free Dance2bfit Microphone ruler which they will use in one of the song and dance routines.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you would like to have a confidential discussion about financial assistance for this program.

Alison Fittler Principal

Chat with the Chaplain Welcome to Term 2.

This term, Kids at Minmi will be participating in the Dance2BeFit program. However, parents can join in the fun by practising dance moves at home. Dancing can be a good way to improve physical fitness and lift a low mood.

There are many learn-to-dance clips on YouTube, to sharpen those dance skills. Learn a routine with the kids and have a family dance off! To get started, try: ‘Kids Learn a Dance to "Can't Stop the Feeling" by Justin Timberlake!’ (MoveTube Network, 2016) URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sxifR0Ltqk
