•Western focused project to evaluate (a) response capability to pair technical telecom and trained HAZMAT expertise and (b) Bell and TELUS’ C2 capability to remotely manage a Hazmat incident during a major event in BC
Expected results
•Reinforce the need to involve all levels of government, first responders, technical experts regional reps from CI owners in emergency planning for Hazmat events.
•Transition findings to operational communities.
•Carriers’ intent is to bring findings to CTEPA and potentially roll it out nationally.
Deliverables
•Implementation Plan for enabling paired telecom – hazmat response capability
•IC BC Hazmat Incident Response Handbook to ensure business continuity
•Architecture framework to establish enduring relationships between critical emergency planning partners
