PRESENTATION I am a current, regular keen contributor to the activities of Communication & Member Support Committee, and have actively taken part for all key decisions/debates in the last 6 years, notably for rejuvenation of the FDI publications and served in the CMSC publication task force.
I have been associated with Dental research and Academia in several capacities. I regularly contribute research, case reports and review manuscripts to several national and international journals of repute. In addition, I hold a key position in the International Association for Dental Research - Indian Division as its Secretary General and the Executive Editor of its open access journal, the Indian Journal of Dental Research. In addition to this, I am one of the few active dental member of the World Association of Medical Editors. For the past two years, I have been associated with the Editor's Forum symposium in IADR meetings.
I play quite a few successful roles as a Key Opinion Leader in Dentistry, Dental Research, Specialist Maxillofacial Surgeon, committed editor, successful author and recipient of several honors at several International dental gatherings. I had been as an invited speaker in FDI forums including previous annual congresses and meets of regional chapters of FDI. Additionally, I have served as an Executive member of the Dental Council of India, the Autonomous body that regulates dentistry in India.
I would represent the much needed voice of the science in developing economies in FDI. My firm belief is when research and innovation ceases, advances in clinical practices too would cease. A healthy relationship between dental academia, industry and practitioner needs to exist, which I believe will make dentistry flourish. Experiences garnered during my previous stint at CMSC, personal networks in academia, NDAs and industry would help me in this endeavor.
My focus, besides would be to promote highest ethical practice in research and all scientific endeavors. I, as a member intend to work for a common platform through which the above are possible within the guidelines provided by the FDI. I would like to effectively contribute to the cause of FDI through the Science committee as its member.
