The slain youth were laid to rest amid curfew in the area. Soon after the bullet-rid- den bodies were brought to their native localities of Kha- wajapora and Bunpor early Tuesday morning, angry youth hit the streets and raised anti-India and pro- freedom slogans and took the bodies in a procession to Nowgam Chowk. The forces had cordoned off the entire area and didn’t allow people from outside to join the funeral prayers. Soon after the youth were laid to rest, angry protesters again took out a procession towards the Main Nowgam Chowk, but they were pushed back by police and paramilitary forces who were deployed in strength at the entrance of the localities. The forces had sealed all roads, leading to locali- ties from Nowgam-Bypass side on the one hand and Natipora side on other, to prevent any person from moving inside. “They are not allowing mourners to visit the bereaved families,” said Abdur Rehman, a local.
