The most common cause is reduced oxygen in the lake water, which in turn

may be due to factors such as algae bloom, over pollution or sustained increase in temperature, Infectious diseases. The sewage water which

contain oils also be the reason for the death of fishes in hussain sagar lake

Death of aquatic animals

BloomingFreshwater algal blooms are the result of an excess of nutrients, particularly some phosphates. The excess of nutrients may originate from fertilizers that are applied to land for agricultural or recreational purposes. They may also originate from household cleaning products containing phosphorus.

DiseasesWe all drink water that come from a source

this may be a lake, local river and ground water. As the increase in pollution in

hussain sagar lake the ground water is also polluted. And if the ground water or

drinking water source is polluted we can easily suffer from the diseases like- cholera and tuberculosis. Every year there are 3-5

million cases of cholera repotted in the world

Air pollutionBy the increase in the pollutant in the

Hussain Sagar lake, the lake becomes so dirty. The fishes are also dying

continuously and sewage waste is also coming to the lake. So by these all

happening in the lake the very bad smell is coming from the Hussain Sagar. This

bad smell is coming from the lake which can pollute the surrounding area's air.

Control on pollutionThe Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and Telangana Pollution Control Board (TPCB) have decided to collaborate and study the ‘nalas’ drains that pollute the Hussain sagar. It is being done as per the orders of Chief Minister K. Chandrasehkar Rao. 30 million litres per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant (STP) has been installed at the Balkapur nala, and a 20 MLD STP for treating waste coming from the Kukatpally and Picket nalas.
