Dear Park Place Families and Community, Today marks the mid-way point for the 2015-16 school year. This week has been busy (and perhaps a bit stressful) as students are compleng projects, assignments, and taking semester tests. I hope many of our students will be here on Thursday, February 4th celebrang at our aer school social. Please don’t forget Friday, Feb 5 th there is no school as this is a non student day for the Semester Break. This upcoming Monday, February 8 th , most students will be moving to their new classroom. Cleaning out backpacks, revising the use of the agenda, and seng goals for the rest of the school year can help start the 2 nd semester on a posive note! While we have half of the school year to go, preparaons for the 2016-17 school year have also begun. On Tuesday February 9 th , next year’s 6 th graders are invited to a Park Place Middle School 6 th Grade Info night that starts at 6:30 pm. On Wednesday February 10 th beginning at 6 PM– Monroe High School will be hosng their ‘prospecve’ parent night. It is an opportunity for the class of 2020 to get a glimpse of life at MHS. Registraon for next year for all our students will be happening the following week at PPMS during the school day. Finally, Park Place is proud to announce our district’s 1st registered Green Team (under the supervision of science teachers Maura Hartway and Sco Holland)! This group of students are working to encourage posive environmental changes within our school to acquire cerficaon through Washington Green Schools. Their main focus for first semester was Waste and Recycling. They have analyzed our garbage vs. recycling percentages, looked at areas on campus with high traffic paerns in need of recycling bins, and realized a need for more informaon on what our school can recycle.
