FLOW RESTRICTORS — All reverse osmosis units use flow restrictors to apply back pressure to the mem-

brane for production of purified water and delivery to the storage tank, and to maintain a desired ratio of drain flow to product flow. The flow restrictor must be sized to fit the RO membrane GPD for correct flow rate. A ratio of drain water to the flow water of the membrane is about 3-4 gals to 1 gal. The ratio can vary as TDS, temperature, pressure and other variables affect the flow rate to drain.
