PURPOSE & INTENTIONThe leadership call to action has never been greater—and in our “do more with
less” global landscape, the expectations placed on leaders have never been higher.
Compelled to deliver stronger results each day, it’s no surprise that our attention
is continually fragmented across a myriad of strategic priorities. We are, in short,
inundated with activity and expectations, and racing to keep pace with the next
call to action.
Here’s the irony: above all else, the greatest call to action we will ever have as
leaders is to live out our purpose.
The foundation for GILD—a four-day transformational experience—is Linkage’s
Purposeful Leadership Model™, the result of our research analyzing more
than 30 years of leadership data and 100,000 assessments to uncover what makes
great leaders great.
Purposeful Leaders are able to identify a personal “why”—their motivation that
drives them to push towards a defined objective; and they successfully translate
this ideal into an organizational “what for”—a broader vision and message that
their teams can rally around.
Join us at GILD to discover the leadership commitments that comprise a purposeful leader—and how they’ll impact your personal journey, your team, your organization, and society at large.
RACHAEL MARANGU
Executive Director, Linkage’s Global Institute for Leadership Development©
Our data shows that there are five commitments that the most
effective leaders make to themselves and their organizations:
The GILD experience brings the five Purposeful Leadership
commitments to life through a combination of 360°
assessment, small-group learning sessions, world-class faculty,
one-on-one coaching, and an Individual Development Plan
focused on empowering each leader with the tools to create
lasting impact.
5 COMMITMENTS TO PURPOSEFUL LEADERSHIP
They inspire those around them to join the
pursuit of a common vision
They engage every team member in
meaningful activities
They innovate products or processes
They achieve results by creating appropriate
structure and clarity
They become more self-aware in their ability
to transform, coach and influence people

A LEADER’S JOURNEY AT GILD
1. Take the 360⁰ assessment
Before GILD begins, complete Linkage’s
360° Purposeful Leadership Assessment™,
a multi-dimensional tool that measures
leaders in the five commitments that
differentiate purposeful leaders. This tool is
the culmination of research from more than
100,000 leaders worldwide. It assesses
both the internal development of a leader—
how he or she personally responds to
situations and manages himself or herself—
and his or her impact on the organization
and their team members.
2. Experience One-On-One Coaching
Participants select an individual coach,
with whom they’ll have a dedicated session
during the Institute, followed by two virtual
meetings four to six weeks after GILD. The
coach becomes a trusted partner for helping
participants debrief their assessment
results, craft an Individual Development
Plan, and monitor progress on their goals.
Many participants extend their coaching
relationship to drive lasting impact after
the Institute.
3. Gain Expert Guidance
GILD faculty is a mix of world-renowned
leaders, educators, authors, executives,
entrepreneurs, coaches and team
facilitators who are committed to the
principles of leading purposefully. A
total participant-to-faculty ratio of
4:1 provides an abundance of in-depth
learning opportunities and ongoing
access to the experts throughout the
GILD experience.
4. Interact with Learning Teams
Prior to GILD, each participant is assigned
to a small, facilitator-led team of peers
based on a number of considerations,
including years of experience, level of
responsibility, and learning style. During
the Institute, these learning teams gather
for two hours each day to reflect on the
content shared and draw connections to
their most pressing leadership challenges.
Organizations who bring at least 12
leaders have the ability to build an intact
learning team.
5. Immerse Yourself in Team Excursions
Shared experiences create the opportunity
to inspire and be inspired. Inspired people,
in turn, drive your organization’s success.
Choose from one of our off-site excursions
for a rare opportunity to build rapport
with your learning team, reflect on salient
leadership themes, and create a network
of trusted advisors focused on creating
impact.
6. Take Part in Ongoing Learning
GILD is designed to facilitate ongoing
learning and engagement from our
participants. As part of the GILD tuition,
leaders have access to our Leader for Life™
series, which includes virtual learning
sessions designed to reinforce and expand
on leadership principles taught on site.
This content can be leveraged individually,
or as connection points for teams who
attended together.
