Celebrating 30 YearsA Message from EGEC Chairman and Managing Director

About forty years ago, a small group of engineering graduate students, pursuing their PhD’s in USA, started dreaming about building an engineering firm. This firm would be a multidisciplinary engineering powerhouse, offering integrated services, from the conception of the project idea to the commissioning of the venture. They pursued this idea with the objective of creating an engineering firm capable of delivering better service to their clients.

A few years later the group had concluded their studies and returned to their home country Egypt with another small group of colleagues who had just completed their doctoral study in Canada.

This is when they began formalizing their idea which culminated in the inception of today’s EGEC in 1986. Since then EGEC has grown and evolved into a bigger and more sophisticated engineering house as it continued to add on more disciplines and expand into new sectors and markets.

Throughout these years, EGEC has had one defining value which continues to guide its progress to this day, and that is partnership. To EGEC, partnership has been and continues to be the force driving the engine. EGEC grew by opening its doors to highly esteemed professionals to join as partners, and by pursuing long term sustainable partnerships with its

key clients. Thirty years later, today, EGEC is a regional engineering firm powered by over 800 highly talented and carefully trained professionals with operations in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Morocco, and Libya.

Looking back at the journey with its ups and downs, challenges and achievements, we can’t help but stop for a moment to honor those who had the most profound impact on this journey.

First, to our highly talented professionals and our entire staff whose motivation and determination to always reach higher and pursue the toughest challenges has fueled and continues to fuel EGEC’s drive for

the illusive notion of perfection. To you, we say thank you.

To our clients who have trusted and continue to trust EGEC with their engineering challenges and needs, without you EGEC wouldn’t be where it is today. To you, we say thank you.

And finally, to our founders, and to our partners who joined EGEC along its journey, the amazing group of professionals who had the vision to pursue what we today call EGEC, without your vision, relentless determination, and intense technical depth, we wouldn’t be here today. To you, we say thank you. It’s been one amazing journey and it has no doubt been an honor to be part of

it. And as we stand today to look back at thirty years of hard work, we must ask ourselves: So now what? Where do we go from here? And the answer is: Up! We go up! EGEC’s vision is to continue to grow and evolve. We see EGEC growing in its markets as it continues to strengthen its partnerships with its long standing clients and pursue new partnerships in the growing markets of the Middle East and Africa.

We see EGEC expanding into the African continent geographically and into new sectors such as the renewable energy sector technically. We see EGEC continuing to contribute to the role of engineering in sustaining the welfare of society through

the planning and engineering of new developments and cities and through providing the deeply needed expertise in developing sustainable communities and facilities.

We see EGEC continuing to do what it does best and that is:Pursuing Partnerships, Transforming Ideas!
