Many of the King’s administrators were jealous of how well Daniel could do his job and wanted him to fall out of favour with King Darius. They persuaded the King to set a law that allowed people to pray only to the King. They were then able to report Daniel for praying to his God three times a day. The punishment was for Daniel to be thrown in the lions’ den.
