State:

1. Introduction 1.1. Purpose

This document provides all main information in order to describe the standard PV Box ST features with all electrical equipments inside for the photovoltaic power plants. This PV Box ST has been optimized to meet all IEC standards constraints, the climatic conditions, the photovoltaic power & grid voltage requirements, the sea transportation constraints and the monitoring remote options. It is then compatible with most of the PV plant projects around the world. The solution described below can be adapted to several environmental and electrical conditions and consequently, shall be configured according to project location.

1.2. Advantages of Schneider Electric PV Box ST sol ution

1.2.1. Flexible

• Various packages of external equipment (filtering packs, ventilation system, heating system) to meet a wide

range of environmental conditions

• Various packages of internal equipment to meet any customer preoccupation: Lowest possible CAPEX or

lower OPEX, maximal energy production and long equipment lifespan

• Adaptable to most of the MV grid voltages and codes

• Full grid-interactive functions available with configurable inverters

• Numerous building codes and requirements already integrated in the design

1.2.2. Easy to install

• Compact and lightweight (to minimize civil work costs and unloading costs)

• Easy to transport by standard boat shipping or using standard-sized trucks

• Delivered pre-assembled, configured, and tested to reduce on-site labor and project duration

1.2.3. Easy to service

• Maintenance of every equipments shall be done inside regardless of weather conditions

• May host Schneider Electric Conext Control monitoring & control solution

• Conext Control allows remote fault detection, early failure notifications to alerting of maintenance team and

remote actions to minimize downtime

• All equipment replaceable through the doors

• Separate MV and LV rooms for safe maintenance

• Local Schneider Electric service available in 100+ countries

State:

1.2.4. Designed for reliability

• Tested and qualified in harsh environmental conditions

• Components designed for lifespan of 20+ years in tough conditions

1.2.5. Higher return on investment

• Optimized CAPEX: Feature level matching exactly customer requirements, reduced transportation and

installation costs, no on-site wiring or cabling

• Reduced OPEX: Qualified and reliable design minimizing the risk of failure and the cost of site interventions

• Power management in order to reduce auxiliaries’ consumption

• Maximum production: High efficiency components (inverters, transformers), minimization of downtime with

Conext Control, monitoring and management of auxiliary components.

• Increased lifespan: Components are kept in optimum ambient conditions whatever external conditions

2. PV Box ST in a nutshell 2.1. Mechanical structure

The PV Box ST is made of 1 main parts ensuring the associated functions:

1. Metallic High Cube Container Support the whole system. Allow cables connecting and path. Include an oil retention tank Support equipments. Withstand wind and snow constraints. Insulation made with mineral wool used to insulate the walls and the roof of the PV Box

i. Waterproof ii. Thermal insulation

2.2. Electrical structure

There are 3 electrical compartments:

1. Low Voltage (LV) compartment IP54 rated, containing: 2 inverters 2 DC Box 1 LV Box 1 Monitoring box (optional) 1 auxiliary transformer.

2. Medium Voltage (MV) compartment, IP 54 rated, containing:

 1 Ring Main Unit

3. Transformer compartment, IP 23d rated, containing: 1 Power Transformer

2.3. Environmental mission profile

Mission profiles are defined according to temperature, presence of dust, sand or salt (pollution level).

1. Low Pollution mission profile Air inlets equipped with G4 folded filters. LV room ventilated directly by the inverter fans Transformer air cooling is obtained by natural circulation air flow 2 temperature ranges (Temperate/Tropical, Continental)

2. Moderate Pollution mission profile

2 filtering boxes connected and sealed to the PV Box external LV room door side filtering boxes contain several filtering layers (Inertial filter screen, filter for sand filtration, G4

folded filters, F9 folded filters) LV room ventilation obtained with extra fans ensuring up to 11 200m3/h airflow inside the PV

Box Transformer air cooling is obtained by natural circulation air flow 2 temperature ranges (Temperate/Tropical/Desert, Continental)

3. High Pollution/High Temperature mission profile
