• National Context: Why now?– Transition in the healthcare systems and funding -
so we have an opportunity to direct and mold a response that works for WLHIV
– Opportunity to influence decision-makers with PWN-USA women on influential national, state and local policy bodies.
– Synergy among PWN-USA policy priorities and among partners and allies to address intersecting and root cause issues.

RegistrationWhat will I receive at registration?
• You will receive the following items upon registration:– Your name tag
– Forms which must be completed, signed or acknowledged as having been received:
• Photo Release Form
• Liability Release Form
• Pre-Summit Survey
Pre-Summit Survey
• You will receive your conference bag (with fun surprises!) after you finish the registration process, including the completion of a pre-Summit survey.
• Surveys are anonymous but help us evaluate how well the Summit is meeting its goals

• There is a local United States Postal Service (USPS) Office in town.– If you seek to ship items
home you will have to either rent a car or take a cab to get to the post office.
– If folks who are driving are willing to do a USPS run before leaving town, please let us know.

Maximizing Your Engagement
Come prepared
• You will experience an action pack two days so
– Expect to be busy
– Bring a notebook
– Dress for comfort
– Wear comfortable shoes
– Get plenty of rest the first night
– Drink plenty of water. The weather will be hot and humid
– Take extra Vitamin C
– Don’t forget your meds
Get the full experience
• If you requested a Summit Sister or volunteered to be a Summit Sister, you will be connected prior to the Summit.
• Split your team to maximally access the information which will be available at the Summit.

• A 90-minute session at which a group of people engage in intensive exploration and activity on a particular subject or project. Generally interactive.

– Affinity: a natural or spontaneous liking for someone or something
– Some affinity sessions are already scheduled
– Participants can also organize affinity sessions• Sign up onsite and

• These are opportunities for attendees to get together in an informal setting to examine issues and exchange ideas relevant to Summit goals and PWN-USA values
• Recommend that each affinity session is convened by at least two leaders

What PWN-USA expects• You to play an active role by fully
participating in Summit activities to the best of your ability
• You to acknowledge the individuals and organizations who supported your participation at the Summit
• You to make a list of at least three other women you will contact within 90 days of the Summit
• You to commit to at least one action within 30 days of the Summit

ExpectationsFor those of you staying for Positive Living Conference
• Positive Living 17 is scheduled immediately after the Summit: September 19-21, 2014 at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort, Fort Walton Beach, FL.
• Submission of application and code of conduct is due Thursday, September 11, 2014.
