Who invented it?

• A Greek man named Pythagoras invented this pythagreom theorem.

• It was invented by the year 530bc. • Pythagoras thought everything could be explained through numbers and

their relationships. Since he was a famous scholar and leader of this group, he demonstrated this theorem and it became popular. Hence, it bears his name.

The back ground of pythagoras

• Very little is known about the early years of him he lived from 569 to 500 B.C.E he was born on Samos island in Greece. He spent majority of his years traveling he spent most of his traveling time learning about mathematics

Page 4: Pythagorean theorem

How it is used?

• Over 2,500 years ago, the Greek mathematician Pythagoras formulated a theory still used today. The Pythagorean Theorm states the sum of the squares in a right triangle equals the square of the hypotenuse, or a2 + b2 = c2.

• This formula can be manipulated through algebra to find the distance of either ofA+B=C

More information!

• There are many applications for the Pythagorean Theorem. For example, it can be used to find the distance between two cities given a reference city, the length of an edge in a right triangle if you are building a house, the magnitude of the velocity of a projectile given its horizontal and vertical speeds, and to find real power versus complex power for electronic utility companies.

•A2+b2=c2 (8)2+b2=13 squared. 64+b2=169 -64-64(on both sides) b2=105 b2= Square root 105 (hit = on calculator) =10.2

Historical note

The actual event of his childhood are unknown. He founded a school in southern Italy after traveling in Egypt and the middle east. He was a philosopher, musician, and astronomer, but he is most remembered as a mathematician. His most famous discovery is what we now call the Pythagorean theorem

Featuring the book whats your angle pythagoras?

• This book was published by Charles

• Bridge at 85 main street water town

• M/A 02472 made in made in 2004

• This book is based on a true story of

• Pythagoras and is very popular and

• Has had many reviews.

The book Pythagoras is about?

• Pythagoras always seems to be in trouble but its only because he is so curious. You will never know where you will find him. He could be up in a tree with the birds spying on workmen or messing about with maps.

• He is deep into his latest adventure and trouble when he discovers a pattern that gets him on everyones good side.

Summary

• So basically this guy is very smart and is very famous for inventing the pythagreom theorem of course his invention was named after him.
