Q Street Bridge Replacement Project Update September 2012 Key Project Elements: Replaces the aging Q Street Bridge. Shortens the bridge by adding a fill section between Edward Babe Gomez Avenue & 27 th Street. Improves the grade between 27 th & 28 th Street. Adds a left turn lane on Q Street each way at 27 th Street. Widens sidewalk on north side of Q Street to accommodate bicycle traffic. Some utility relocations are required. Schedule: Public Open House Meeting o Thursday, October 25 th ,57pm at the Kroc Center A fall 2014 letting is currently planned with work beginning over the 20142015 winter (follows NDOR redecking of L Street Bridge). Anticipated end of construction: November 2015 Impacts: The Q Street Bridge between 26 th & 27 th Streets would be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic during construction for bridge removal and reconstruction. Short term intersection closures at 26 th Street and 27 th Street would be required to rebuild those intersections in phases. Improvements along Q Street would extend to 28 th Street. Key Project Elements: 

Replaces the aging Q Street Bridge. 

Shortens the bridge by adding a fill section between Edward Babe Gomez Avenue & 27th 

Street. 

Improves the grade between 27th & 28th Street. 

Adds a left turn lane on Q Street each way at 27th Street.
