to be undergirded with pastoral training initiatives, which should really be seen as their apex. Why is this?Initially, entrance into cultures and

peoples may come through compassion initiatives—whether in medicine, education, relief and development, justice or human traffi cking issues.Then, building on these long and

short, big and small, goodwill platforms, evangelization does take place (or else we resemble secular non-governmental organizations). After that, beyond evangelism, comes

church planting. However, after church planting, what follows?Strengthening pastors should stand

at the pinnacle of missions strategy because strategists and practitioners often go through local pastoral leaders for endorsement and counsel about where to dig wells, show movies about Jesus, and plant new churches. In summary, I commend pastoral

training as a necessary complement to, and the highest priority for, implementing all ministry initiatives globally and locally:• It justifi es the cost and preserves the

fruit of the other sacrifi cial and successful ministry efforts. • It protects churches from the spiritual

health disaster that otherwise awaits them. • It depopulates hell from the highest

numbers of people in an earthly situation and facing an eternal destiny without Christ. • It helps correct creedal and cultural

misperceptions of Christianity when local believers permeate their social spheres. • It prevents church growth from being a

mere sociological phenomenon.• It multiplies and sustains the future

leadership of the faith. Often under-served and isolated,

pastors are on-site for the long term; they are the least expensive and most relevant to their contexts. They are thus the key co-laborers who urgently need training, skills and relationships. Therefore, building a global pipeline to deliver such pastoral training as the focus and framework of all ministry efforts signifi cantly accomplishes the fi nal mandates of our Lord Jesus. Enhancing pastoral health everywhere accelerates

church health anywhere and delivers spiritual health worldwide.

Dr. Richard's friend passed the message along, and said, “Be encouraged with me, although not surprised, by the Lord's timing and orchestrated intersection.” Another testimony of the Lord’s timing

and intersection was delivered by a Costa Rica national GPA graduate during a quick visit to RREACH. In addition to pastoring two churches, one of local believers and one of English-speaking ex-pats, Pastor D has begun teaching Dr. Richard’s Preparing Expository Sermons because of the lack of training for pastors in their area. One day Pastor D’s father saw Dr. Richard's book and asked if he might borrow it. Although not a believer, he liked Dr. Richard’s style and thought the book would help develop his

speaking skills. After studying Preparing Expository Sermons and its primary subject matter, the Bible, Pastor D’s dad is now not only a better speaker, he also believes in the Lord Jesus and is telling

There He Goes…Again: Personal ProclamationDr. Richard recently visited a thriving

church in an Asian country where the pastor explained the two syllable biblical word "mercy." “’Mer’ stands for ‘myrrh,’” he said, “and ‘cy’ refers to God’s ‘sea of mercy.’”It’s the need of untrained

pastors like this, who comprise 95 percent of the world’s pastors today, that has spurred Dr. Richard to shift, for a season, his personal proclamation ministry focus to addressing the needs of these untrained pastors, particularly their monumental need for training in “accurately handling the Word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15).He is encouraged in this

endeavor by so many factors, including Dallas Seminary’s affi rming of the GProCongress at their annual faculty retreat and by strong connections made in conjunction with the

Global Leadership Summit in Chicago. In between GProCongress mobilization

meetings, Ramesh set aside time to spend away with family, a much-needed refreshment. Also a RREACH friend took

a couple of friends to hear Dr. Richard at a DFW-area church. One of the guests, a relatively new believer, said the message moved him so much that he would remember it the rest of his life!

Rev. G.E., founder and CEO of Beyond Barriers, a ministry to kids and teens in unreached contexts in India, is excited about the Global Proclamation Congress for Pastoral Trainers. After hearing about the unique event, he immediately began spreading the word. One might wonder why Pastor G.E., whose ministry focus is very different from pastoral training, would be so stirred by the concept of the GProCongress. He explains it best himself in a letter he wrote encouraging contacts to seriously consider the event. We’d like to share portions with you.

Dear Pastor J, Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!I was 21 years old, sitting at a church in northeast India one evening to attend a meeting. I had come into ministry when I was 16 years old, but at that point I was frustrated and ready to quit. I told the Lord, “You need to speak to me clearly this

evening. Or else I quit!” That evening, for the fi rst time, I saw and heard Dr. Ramesh Richard preach. The Lord broke my heart and drew me close to Him. Having grown up as a Compassion-sponsored boy in an alcoholic abusive home, I was touched that evening by a heart that was passionate for the lost. The refl ection of a true Love of God. After that I never looked back.Now, the Lord is doing something very special at a time such as this. Yesterday, I heard Dr. Ramesh Richard speak these words: “The Global Proclamation Congress for Pastoral Trainers is neither speaker-driven nor stage-driven, but is instead vision-driven and issue-driven.” That gripped my heart. To hear someone speak about vision and issues as an emphasis kindled a fi re inside me. The heartbeat that I heard was a true genuine passion to help the church in a deeper way.

Rev. Edmund Chan, a mentor leader for pastors worldwide says, “Today the church has grown a mile wide; but only an inch deep.” The need of the hour is depth. The Global Proclamation Congress for Pastoral Trainers addresses that need.Pray about this. Don’t go alone. Send or go with at least three from your church. The Lord has raised you and me for a time such as this. This is not a time to retire! This is a time to re-“tyre”! This is not a time to recline! This is a time to re-align!
