Q4) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research,

planning and evaluation stages?

ResearchYouTube was one of the video websites that I used to look at

other short films. It was where we could research other student films and we could draw inspiration from it.

‘Google’ was also another website which we used for looking at our research. It was an easy search bar that was

quick to use. It helped us find what we needed quickly.

ConstructionUsing a digital camera was very important to us as a group. We used the camera to take all the shots that we needed. One person took all the photographs on the camera whilst

another person moved the toy dog to create the animation.

We also used an apple mac computer to upload the images onto. It was on here where we could develop

the images and create our stop frame animation.

iPhoto, iMovie, Final Cut pro

These are 3 software applications that are on the apple macs. Each one of them helped us to create our stop frame

animation.

Once we had shot the animation we needed to import the images onto iPhoto from the camera. We gave them their

own album so they would be easy to find.

Once the album had been created we needed to find it in iMovie. In iMovie we could create the stop frame

animation where the pictures would run automatically. We could change how fast we wanted them to be played.

Finally, once the animation was created on iMovie, we opened and saved it using final cut pro.

Once we had created the short film, we had decided to upload some music onto it. To do this we used the software

programme Garageband. It was an easy way to produce some music that would fit in with the rest of the film. We selected a

piece of music with a soft piano feel.

I used Adobe Photoshop when I was editing the images that I used for my double page article and

my movie poster. As I already understood the basics of this software I found it fairly easy when

editing my images.

I used the programme Adobe InDesign when it came to the layout of my article and the

movie poster. As I had already used this software before I found it easy when

selecting the layout for each task. It helped to make my poster and article look much

more professional.

Planning

Over the course of the project I uploaded all of my research and planning onto a blog, using the website ‘blogger’. To create a lot of my research I used applications such as ‘Prezi’, ‘Glogster’ and ‘Slideshare’. Once I had created my research and planning on here I could them share them by

importing the embed code onto a new post on my blog. We learnt about saving them in different formats and how to upload them onto blogger.

EvaluationWe have distributed our work by putting the video onto our blogs and YouTube.

The final stages of our coursework was to create and upload an evaluation. I created an evaluation by using various types of media. I have created videos,

power points and texts. These have then all been uploaded onto my blog.
