Throughout the research and planning stages I used survey monkey in order to find out information about my target audience and what they expect from a product from my chosen genre. This was then followed up by posting the links on social networking sites, Twitter and Facebook, which allowed my to gain an even broader range of answers from members of the target audience.

I also used social media in order to gain feedback on my draft products and finished products, which allowed me to improve based on what I was told from my feedback, and it also showed my that my finished products were conventional and appealing to them, which made the production process a lot easier on the whole, being a great asset throughout the course.

I’ve also used web searching capabilities throughout in order find out information regarding my research into the genre and form, as well as sites such as YouTube in order to watch existing trailers of my genre. Overall this aided my research and allowed me to gain a broader and more in depth understanding of the task, and has allowed me to create a conventional finished product.

Also throughout the planning and production phase I have used both Fireworks and Photoshop in order to develop high quality rough designs and high quality finished designs.

I used Photoshop to edit images that I had taken, by using colour correction and brightness controls, and then I created the designs using Fireworks.

This software has allowed me to develop high quality designs as it is professional image editing software, and is simple to use but more effective than other alternatives.

I have used word processing throughout, in order to type up plans and type up research that I found throughout the research and planning stage. This has allowed me to simply collate my thoughts and plans into an easy to understand document, and the same with my research, and overall has been an essential part of my coursework on the whole.

I have also used presentation software through my coursework as it is a way to visually display important information that is vital to the success of the finished product. This has helped me greatly as it has allowed me to create a summary at the end of each bit of research in the form of a presentation that sums up vital information that I could quickly refer back to when I was creating my products.

When it came to the production of the film trailer, movie poster and magazine front cover, we used a professional DSLR camera, being the Nikon D3200, which enabled us to record our footage in high quality 1080p, making it looks professional and visually pleasing for the target audience.

It also enabled my photographs for the ancillary tasks to be extremely high quality, with a crisp and vibrant look to them, which looked even better after editing.

Overall by having access to high-end equipment, it has improved the overall quality of my finished products.

Also for video editing, I have been using Sony movie studio platinum 12.0, which is mid-range editing software, which was exactly what I needed in order to edit the footage together, as it has the perfect combination of being easy to use, and being packed with advanced features to allow us to improve the product. This allowed me to do simple tasks very quickly and efficiently, and also allowed me to do more advanced features such as using Chroma keyer to add in an overlay for the video camera recordings of the protagonist. This has also enabled me to complete my evaluation by creating review videos of the conventions involved in my finished film trailer, in a more effective way.

Overall this software has allowed me to complete the post-production stage simple and easily, with advanced features as well.

Overall, from the Research stage, right the way through to the evaluation stage, I have been able to use technology throughout in order to improve the overall look and the delivery method of the information and my production.
