HOW DID YOU USE NEW MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?

New media technologies such as social networking, cameras and editing software were all vital in mastering our video and made the research, planning and evaluation stages as effective as possible.

CAMERA

During the construction process of my music video I used a Sony Cannon DSLR. This allowed me to film my music video in high quality and allowed us to take still images of thing such as location shots during the production of our music video.

This camera was very useful as it was hand held but it fitted perfectly onto a tripod and he camera it had a lot of advanced features. We could explore the camera and there were a number of different effects that we used while filming, for example when we zoomed in on the couple holding hands.

IMOVIE

The main software that I used for editing my raw footage was iMovie. This was very sufficient for me and my group as we used the same software as last year and had a lot of experience with it. It was very effective as it has a number of different ways in which you an cut and edit and including transitions that we included. In one of the colour edits we used iMovie so we could change from black and white at the start of the movie to slowly adding colour in nearer the end when the main characters day got better.

YOUTUBE

When presenting our finished product we used the website YouTube. This website allows people to make videos and upload them publically so people can see across the world, and it allowed me to present our final product. YouTube can be accessed on a variety of different devices such as phones, computers and televisions.

GOOGLE

Throughout my research I used was Google, this is a website which has the idea of the 2.0 web. The idea of web 2.0 tells us that the internet is a garden and people can put their own works and let other people view their work, while the other people are allowed to comment on it and give their opinions / feedback.

I mostly used google to research information about the Arctic Monkeys and find out about their target audience.

PREZI AND SLIDESHARE

When trying to present information that I have found and put together I used a website called Prezi, which allowed me to present my findings in a more interactive way and make it easy to read. Slideshare is another website that helped me present my work and was perfect for blogger as it made the work into a type of powerpoint presentation.

BLOGGER

During the Planning process I used blogger which allowed me to post all the way throughout my production of how I was developing my work. This website allowed me to post my works and allow everyone to view it even those who are not may target audience which meant that it has a wide range of availability. When we got things such as audience feedback we could upload this through YouTube onto blogger and the same for voice recordings throigh Soundcloud.
