INTRODUCTION TO BENCHMARKING

FOR BEST PRACTICES

“Benchmarking is the process of comparing one’s business processes and performance

metrics to industry bests and/or best practices from other industries. Dimensions

typically measured are quality, time, and cost. Improvements from learning mean doing

things better, faster, and cheaper.”

What is a Best Practice?

Best practices are “those practices that have been shown to produce superior results;

selected by a systematic process; and judged as exemplary, good, or successfully

demonstrated”, these practices are then adapted to fit a particular organisation.

Benchmarking is a systematic process used for identifying and implementing best or

better practices.

LESSONS LEARNED BY THE TEAM

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”.

- J.F. Kennedy“Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable;

procures success to the weak, and esteem to all.”- George Washington

• Likewise, we inculcated discipline and selflessness as core moral values making us a better human.

• Service before self-We got an insight regarding the way the Indian Army has always

been there for us despite the conditions were extreme.• We show respect and a sense of gratitude for their vigour and

valour.
