FLOW CHARTING

What is Flow charting?

It is helpful in defining, analyzing or discussing a process.

Problem:1Transportation

All the buildings are very far apart.Since the counseling process takes place in the

month of June/July, people find it difficult to walk around in the scotching sun.

Limited campus-buses are available.Campus is situated on the outskirts of the

main city, so it takes lot of time to reach there.

Problem:2NRI quota

Branches which have more placements than others are taken up by the students who have NRI quota.

They don’t need to give entrance exam. Many times ,more deserving candidates don’t

get branches of their interest.

Problem:3Disarrangement in staying overnight

At the time of counselling there is no proper arrangement for the guests to stay overnight.

They are not provided with rooms. They are compelled to sleep on the floor or in

corridors.Washrooms are either not available or in a

very miserable condition.

SOLUTIONS

SOLUTION 1:TRANSPORTATION

Number of campus buses must be more for that particular time-period.

All the formalities involved in the admission process must be arranged under the same roof.

Proper directions of all the procedures must be provided beforehand to avoid any sort of inconvenience.

SOLUTION 2:NRI QUOTA

All the students must be admitted only after passing the entrance exam, there should not be partiality among the students.

Percentage of class XII must be taken into consideration.

Every branch must have limited no. of seats only which are reserved.

SOLUTION 3:disarrangement in staying overnight

Washrooms must be cleaned on regular intervals of time.

More hostels must be turned into guesthouses, in order to provide more no. of rooms to the guests.

Only certain lot of students must be called for counseling in a particular interval of time.

There are no chairs in the mess hall, causing inconvenience for the aged people.

Lessons learnt

Our university faces many problems during the counseling time.

It needs to take up steps for the ease of students as well as their guardians.

The NRI quota is a hindrance for the deserving candidates. It must be reconsidered.

There must be proper arrangements as far as transportation is concerned.

Lessons learnt

Proper arrangements for staying overnight at that time must be done.

Chairs must be arranged for the guests in the mess hall.

The admission process takes up a long time to complete. There must be an easier and less tedious procedure.
