We round off the term with this classic comedy of lunacy, love and poetry. Star-crossed lovers, mischievous fairies, thes-pian tradesmen and magical transforma-tions make for a play full of colour, light and underlying shadow.

The Soldier’s Tale
Music-drama by Stravinsky, conducted by Jacob Thorn. Based on a Russian folk tale, the parable of a soldier who sells his fiddle to the Devil in exchange for wealth. Danced, sung and played to Stravinsky’s thrilling 1918 score.
Frantic Assembly Workshop
Full-day (6 hour) Devising and Physicality workshop with renowned theatre company Frantic Assembly. The emphasis is on the expressive use of movement in theatre work. Open to anyone in the school. Numbers limited. Contact Dr Hebron (mdh)

William Shakespeare, Henry VI Parts 1 and 2
SROGUS (Shakespeare Reading Orpheus Glees United Society) will meet this term and next to read Shakespeare’s mighty tetralogy, Henry VI (in three parts) and Richard III. Blackout / DNA
Directors from VI2 present a double bill of pow-erful contemporary drama. Blackout, by Davey Anderson, is the true story of a 15-year-old boy from Glasgow charged with attempted murder, who tries to piece together the events in his life that have bought him into a secure care unit and threaten to keep him there. Directed by Fergus Bentley and Barnabé Colin. DNA, by Dennis Kelly, explores issues of guilt, violence, love and belonging in a story of a practical joke among a group of adolescents which goes tragically wrong.
