1 During installation, define the “sa” user or master password as: Qmatic123
2 Verify that the database is set up in mixed mode authentication. This means that it can accept Windows logins or SQL user/password logins.
3 Ensure TCP/IP is enabled and port 1433 is enabled for 0 connections MAX.

Troubleshooting Starting Issues
1 Check that port 80 is not is use. If you cannot use it or if Qwin and QSuite are on the same server, set Q-Win to use port 82.
2 Check for power to the interface.
3 Is Java installed? Is it the correct version? If not, uninstall the current version of java and reinstall Q-Win. Q-Win will install a working version of java.
4 Check if an antivirus program is preventing the Q-Win service from starting.
5 Verify that the license matches the interface serial.
6 If getting a “C++” error, turn off DEP for the QWIN.EXE. Go to Control Panel System Advanced Performance Settings Data Execution Prevention. Make QWIN.EXE an exception. This will require a restart.

TESTING
Wire Testing IMPORTANT!! All cables should be securely fastened within 6” of the termination device.
Information Cable
Most units are connected to Qmatic systems with a cable of 4 single core wires (24 AWG) in the mains (should this read “main?”) lead. All units are connected parallel.
Wire No. 1 Power Supply to each unit (+): [solid white/green stripe]
Wire No. 2 Ground (-): [solid green/white stripe]
Wire No. 3 Output Signal: [solid white/orange stripe]
Wire No. 4 Input Signal: [solid orange/white stripe]
Displays are normally connected to the system with modular cables via a Satellite Box.
Voltage Between Wire No. 2(-) and Wire No. 1(+)
• Normal = 27-28 V
• Lowest = 22 V
• Not under (Is this correct terminology? Would “Not to dip below” be acceptable?) = 20 V
Voltage Between Wire No. 2(-) and Wire No. 3 (Output Signal)
This signal pulses between 0 V and the Voltage established at Wire No. 1 (= Terminal Pin No. 1; Power Supply).
Depending on the type of Voltage meter used, the reading can differ slightly, but should still be between 18-24 V.
The voltage should never be under 10 V, which indicates that somewhere in the system, either the polarities have been mixed up, or one or more units have been damaged.
Voltage Between Wire No. 2(-) and Wire No. 4 (Input signal)
This signal pulses between 0 V and the Voltage established at Wire No. 1 (Terminal Pin No. 1; Power Supply).

The Voltage should never be under 10 V, which indicates that somewhere in the system, the polarities have been mixed up or one or more units have been damaged.
Proper wiring ensures that a reliable function of the system is achieved.
Two problems may arise when the number of units increases.
1. The first problem has to do with the total current consumption of the cable. When the current rises as more units are added, and the length of the cable is more than 50 m, the voltage drops in the cable. The voltage should not get below 20 V between Wire No. 1 and Wire No. 2. The failure can be seen as flickering figures, poor key response, etc.
2. The second problem is due to the capacitance (electrical transfer) between the wires in the cable. This problem only occurs when the total length of all cables is more than 1000 m or when a multi-core wire is used.

Each power rail of the Power Connection box can only handle a load of 6 amps MAX. Verify that the combined amperage of the wiring on this rail is 6 Amps or less

The Blue and Brown pairs can be used to provide additional current or they can be used for accessories such as the doorbell, etc.

Keypad Wiring To ID the keypad, first press the “ALT” key while simultaneously plugging in the power. Next, press the “NEXT” key or “CLOSE” key to increase or decrease the ID number. Unit will save setting after a few seconds.
