A fcw years ago the Schneider Golden Age Club was organized by a

Retirccl Employee Group with Cyril Haycs, Norman Schneider. Jack Stoneanct the Pcrsonnel Office giving leadership. Thc idea was to bring ottr retiredpeople into thc Plant occasionally' to rctain ttlgil interest in the businessivtribtr hacl bencfittecl from their lit'etime work. This has lreen done with theexception of the sunlmer rnonths rvhen nrany are busy with outside work oraway at cottagcs or travellin-e.

In talking to any rnenrber of this club you can be sure of their approvalof the i<tea. fhey mcet their life timc working companions, tell about the bigfish the1, caught, havc a good clinner and an interesting hour hearing a talkand seeing pictures by' any member who has becn travclling. Norm' Longgets a goi:d- chance tcl talk to the group on Insurance or Pension Problemsand whin the ncw ilcpartments or machines are put into operation, they areconducted on a Plant Tour. The avcrage attendance is about thirtl'.

'fhe Management feels that any timc and moncy spent on this Club iswell justified. After so many years of association, we don'[ like to part withour people and we feel that they have an interest and want to know whatgoes-on, l\lost of thc members are shareholders and this monthly visit keepsthem informed on our progress.

We encourage our Pcnsioners to keep going, to keep an interest in lifeand not stagnate. "RF.ST IS RUST," and if you retire and go honre and sitdown, you won't last long. Thc old say.ing "Use it or you lose it" applies toyour body and your brain so keep active and you will have a long and happyretired life.
