QTimer™ Zaxby’s Leaderboard Upgrade Installation

The installer MUST get certified prior to installation. Please read thoroughly prior to install to determine if there are any questions.

After the installation process, Acrelec support must be called at 866-461-0248 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern Time for final configuration.

You will need specific tools standard to any installation of similar products. The install consists of running cable, mounting monitors, media player (Ark controller) and connecting wires.

Note: The technician installing the QTimer System Upgrade should properly label each end of the cat5 and use Panduit to hide cabling in the drive-thru.

Equipment shipped: Items 1 – 6 are for the timer upgrade.

Items 7-9 will be included as well when doing the full timer upgrade with leaderboard.

Phase 1 - MONITOR INSTALLATION: Get managers approval for dual monitor

location Remove the existing 19” monitor from

the drive-thru area. The kitchen monitor is not going to be affected during this installation

Follow installation instructions inside LCD Swivel Wall Mount box for each 22” LCD Monitor Install the two 22” LCD Monitors side by side in the drive-thru area, where previous monitor was located

Phase 2 - MEDIA PLAYER (ADVANTECH ARK-1123 CONTROLLER) INSTALLATION:NOTE** Do not power on the ARK MEDIA PLAYER until all monitors and detectors are connected and powered on, as this could cause problems with resolution.

ARK Media Player – Install the side braces by removing the screws on either side and mount close to the mounting bracket for the LCD Monitor mounted in the drive-thru service area


P i t t s b u r g h , P A 1 5 2 0 5 Connect the 6’ DVI to HDMI cable included with monitor to

the HDMI port as indicated in Figure 1 Connect the 6’ VGA to HDMI cable to the input on the powered splitter on Figures 1 and 3 Network connection – Run cat5 from the onboard NIC on the side with the power cable to the back office to the

Fortinet/Netsurion router on ports 3-7. Run cat5 from the onboard NIC on the side with the power light to the back office connecting to the D-Link/TPLink router on any available port. Use Panduit to hide wiring. Both ends of the cable will be terminated using a standard T568B termination, Figure 4

Phase 3 - Serial Data Acquisition Cable (S-DAC) and Loop Detector connections - Single Lane – Menu board and Service Window:

Serial Data Acquisition Cable (SDAC) should be connected directly to the COM Port in Figure 2 Refer to the diagrams below for the XT1, G5, and EOS Base stations

Phase 4 - SERVICE WINDOW LOOP DETECTOR CONNECTION: External Loop Detection – Acrelec America typically uses an

Eberle loop detector, see figure 5, with a wiring diagram on the loop detector (if loop is not provided by Acrelec then follow the manufactures instructions). Mount the harness to the wall with the notch facing down, wire the loop and power. Positive to pin 1 and negative to pin 2. The grey SDAC cable goes to pins 5 and 6. The Loop wires go to pins 7 and 8

NOTE: YOU MUST REMOVE THE EXISTING VEHICLE DETECTOR FOR THE WINDOW AND INSTALL THE NEW LMA 1250 DETECTOR INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE.
