IntroductionBased in Austin, Texas, Michael Wodchis is vice

president of strategic alliances and business development at Windsor Insurance Associates. A lifelong athlete, Michael Wodchis stays in shape as a runner, cyclist, and kayaker. He has qualified for the Boston Marathon several times and last ran the famed race in 2010 in a time of 3 hours, 27 minutes. 

Considered the country’s most prestigious marathon, the Boston Marathon is an annual race held on Patriots’ Day, the third Monday of April. It is also the world’s oldest annual marathon, dating back to 1897, and draws a significant crowd of spectators each year.

Boston MarathonIn addition to its illustrious history, the Boston

Marathon is also known for its qualification requirements. To earn entrance into the race, runners must have completed a qualifying marathon within a set number of months and also achieved a certain time. These times vary based on age range and gender. Currently, for the age group 50-54, men must have completed a certified marathon within three hours and thirty minutes, and women need to have completed within four hours and 0 minutes.
