TheEarlyYearsLearningFramework(EYLF),knowledgeofthechild,familyandthecommunityaswellasobservationsoftheindividualandthegroupareusedtoguidetheprogrammingcycle.OurCentreisbasedinasmallruralcommunity.Withamixtureofnewandlongtermstaffmembersourcentrehasagoodbalanceofknowledgeandnewperspectives.Longtermknowledgeoftheindividualchildren,theirfamilies,circumstancesandcommunity.Knowledgeofcommunityevents,issues,protocolsandculture.Theseasonalimpactsandexpectationsofthecommunityanditsfamilies.Andnewperspectivesthatcanchallengeprocessesandthinking.Carryingnopreconceivedideasorexpectationsoffamiliesorindividuals.Bringingabroaderdiverseexperienceandknowledgeofwaysofbeingtoconnectingwithfamiliesandcommunities.Inthiswaywehavethebestofbothworlds;positivecommunityconnectionsandnewperspectives.Educatorsactivelyfollowchildren’sinterestsandideasroutinelythroughouttheday.Reflectiontimeissetasideattheendofthedaytolookattheprogramandwaystoimplementandincludechildren’sinterests,questionsandideas.Learninganddevelopmentisassessedthroughanongoingcycleofplanning,documentingandevaluationwitheachchildhavingalearningplanandreportingtoparentseachterminthe5learningareasofEYLF.
