Introduction

There are three ways to obtain training, each serves a different use case. They are broken down in three different tabs on qualys.com/training

1. Certified Self-Paced Training 2. Video Library 3. Instructor-led Training

Training Descriptions

Self-Paced Training

Self-Paced training is for people who want in-depth coverage of a key Qualys product area. All of the Self-Paced courses include: Videos: These are the “lecture” piece of the training that explain each topic. Slides: These are the PowerPoint slides used in the course which can be used for reference. Hands-on labs: This is made up of lab guide and possibly other course materials (varies per course), along with a 30-day trial account provided for hands-on training. Exam: The exam is meant to be a learning tool, to help users get experience and learn the subject matter. Certification: When you pass the exam you get the certification.

Video Library

Just videos. No exam, no hands-on labs, no certification, no enrollment required. Just click the videos and watch. You can watch the same videos from our courses without having to go through a whole course. You can also share videos by individual video or by series.

Instructor-Led

Occasionally Instructor-Led training may be offered in your area or via online training session. These are given at specific instances in time. These are the same labs, exams, certifications you get with the self-paced training.

To enroll in Certified Self-Paced Training

1. A) Go to the “Certified Courses” tab. B) Locate the class you want to take. There are recommended sequences you can go through for different training silos.

2. When you find the course you want, click the tile. It will open up a page with the agenda for the course and buttons at the bottom you can click for registration.

3. Click the “Self-Paced” button.

You will be redirected to our learning system. The learning system can also be accessed directly at qualys.com/learning.

4. On the learning system you will need to create an account, if you don’t already have one. Your username can be anything but you will need to use your work or .edu email id for your email address. This is required. These credentials will be completely separate than any other Qualys login.

5. Once you’ve created an account (with your work email id or .edu email id), click the “Enroll”

button for the course.

6. Once you’ve enrolled in a course, you can then download your course materials. This is anything

that has an “Open” Button next to it.

7. IMPORTANT: Now that you’ve enrolled, it will take 24 to 48 hours to receive your student trial account. This is a different account than your learner account. Look for an email in your inbox with subject line “Qualys Registration -- Start Now”.

8. Wait until you have both accounts before starting training.

9. When you have received the student trial account, you are ready to "Launch” the training. This

will walk you through the training step by step. It is strongly recommended you watch all videos and perform all labs before attempting the exam. You can change the speed on the videos in the course (faster or slower), and you can watch them as many times as you want.

10. To sum up:

There are two separate accounts you use during the self-paced training.

Learning account - You created the credentials for this account. This account logs you into our learning site at qualys.com/learning (geolearning site) and it is where you watch videos, obtain lab guides, take exams, and download certifications. This account never expires.

Qualys Student trial account - This account logs you into the Qualys Portal at https://qualysguard.qg3.apps.qualys.com. This is where you will get your hands-on experience when working through the labs of self-paced training. This account expires in 30 days. You will get a new account if you register for another course.

To enroll in Instructor-Led Training

1. Go to qualys.com/training and click the tab for “Instructor-Led Training”

2. Find the in-person or online class you’d like, and click “Sign-up”

3. This will redirect you to our learning site. On the learning system site (qualys.com/learning) you will need to create an account, if you don’t already have one. Your username can be anything but you will need to use your work or .edu email id for your email address. This is required. These credentials will be completely separate than any other Qualys login.

4. Click the “Enroll” button. You will receive a confirmation email indicating you’ve enrolled, and a

notification for when the course takes place. You’ll receive further information from the instructor when it comes time for the training event.

5. It is strongly recommended you attend the course and go through all of the labs before attempting the exam.

Training and Certification History

To find your training history, log in at qualys.com/learning and locate right-hand column where you can click to get your full history and download your certifications.
