Quarter 2 Report
Galileo K12 Achievement
• Galileo K12 uses scale scores to estimate probable student performance on the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS)
• Students are given a criterion measure of levels 1-5• Scores of levels 4 (Met Expectations) and 5 (Exceeded
Expectations) are estimated to pass the CMAS tests in April.
• A student is considered meeting grade level expectations if he or she scores at least a 750 on the CMAS
• Results cannot be compared to the state or district CMAS results because they do not represent the entire district. (5 schools take an alternate benchmark assessment)

Galileo K12 Growth
• Galileo K12 measures growth using scale scores
• Scores are compared between two tests
• A student meeting growth expectations has a scale score increase more than the average student in that tested subject and grade.
• A higher scale score generally indicates that students are answering more questions or more difficult questions correctly than on a prior test

Talent
• On-Time Graduation Rate jumped from 66.6% to 72.3% for SY 2018.
• R180 position finally filled to support reading intervention!
• Math team getting support with data dialogues, planning for increased level of rigor (instructionally and with assessments)
• Exploring Innovation Plan with emphasis on developing a Community School
Mitchell HS (Year 3)
50
• Data dialogues are increasing in specificity, alignment to rigor of the standard (and taking advantage of guided data digs with ANET)
• The team is coaching individual teachers (admin, ACT coach, and ANET coach) to improve instruction, increase focus on aggressive monitoring, and planning for rigor
• Writing emphasis for science, including use of common rubric to drive instructional improvements and classroom interventions
• Improvement over last year with ANET Interim Assessments across all grades, for both math and ELA for both A1 and A2 (exception for 7th Grade ELA and 6th Grade Math which both dropped).
Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy (Year 2)
51
• Addressing attendance and discipline with significant decline in OSS rates after Teen Court Implementation
• Initiating Partnership with TDS to enhance use of EWS
Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy (Year 2)
52
• PLCs have been bolstered, with emphasis on instructional planning, use of assessment data; some teams have improved intervention by name and need
• ACT Instructional coach support, more administrative presence in classrooms and at PLCs.
• Taking advantage of guided data digs
• 6th Grade is getting better at identifying gaps and identifying intervention needs; level of rigor needs a significant uplift
• Formative assessments developed for 7th grade math, aligned to ADB needs
Galileo School for Math and Science (Year 2)
53
• Strong start with AVID, preparing for expansion of school wide strategies
• Culture and Vision: Preparing to host 3 rounds of World CAFÉ (students, parents/community, and staff) to help co-create a vision for GMS.
• Attendance: Consistent, weekly, multi-tiered approach to improve attendance, which is getting the attention of our parents. Our attendance process mimics the MTSS process and our role is to identify the support needed for the family. The process has been defined; the building of plans and documenting support is just beginning to kick off.
• Decrease in the number of referrals/consequences to the office in the month of January and February of 2019 compared to the same months the last 2 years we have had a decrease in the number of suspensions.
