Focus on the Neighborhood Quartier Vert is a sustainable neighborhood. Threaded between a mix of entertainment and commercial uses is a community center that activates residents through its creation of lively public spaces and community-supporting retail.
Leverage Existing Assets Quartier Vert leverages existing developments in the area as assets to the proposal. A significant introduction of jobs and housing in the area is balanced by a regional greenway, allowing green infrastructure to draw connection throughout the site.
Enhance Connections Quartier Vert re-envisions the site’s inherent barriers as key assets for development. Active public spaces define major transition zones under the I-10 freeway and throughout the neighborhood, as landscape and urban design orient users.
Minimize Displacement Quartier Vert is a home. Surrounded on each side by some of New Orleans’ most historical and culturally-rich neighborhoods, Quartier Vert embraces current residents and proposes solutions for keeping them in the area. This is a redevelopment focused on bringing neighbors together.
