+Computer spec

OSX v106.8

Processor: 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 8GB 1067MHz DDR3

I used the Imac as the basic foundation of the entire project. Any editing and collaberation of material was done on one of these Computer systems. Without it I would not have been able to use Final Cut or any of the other Apple exclusive software.

+Fujifilm Finepix s8200

I used this camera in the filming of the video itself. All the pictures and videos in the final project were taken on this model of camera. I also used this camera in the making of the digipak and the poster. Using this camera allowed for a better quality image than I could have gotten from the cameras supplied by the school.

+Keyboard + Mouse

The keyboard and mouse were crucial in the construction of the video and digipak. As we did not have any touchscreen computers, we could not have made the video without access to the keyboard and mouse. I used Apples own keyboard and mouse, as they are easier to use with the software I was using.

+Tripod

While filming the video, using a tripod was extremely helpful, though not essential. It allowed for some more stable shots, as I do not have a very steady hand when filming. It also allowed for a wider variety of shots, as it allowed me to extend my arm even further, for some higher, almost aerial shots. Without it, the video would have been blander, with less variety of shots and angles.

+Software Used in video

Final Cut Pro X v10.0.9

- This was the video composition software I used throughout the project. Anything seen in the video, was edited in Final Cut. It’s a software superior to others on the market, such as Windows Movie Maker, which is a temperamental piece of software.

Free Video Converter v2.3

- This was used in downloading the audio for the video. It was a much more cost effective way of acquiring the song. By simply copying and pasting the url of the Youtube video into the software, the song was converted. I then imported it into the Final Cut software, and used it as the audio background.

+ Youtube

- Youtube was a crucial piece of software when it came to the final project. It was the site we used to upload our video to, so that we could embed it in our blogs and use it for audience feedback etc.

- Photoshop

- Photoshop was the main focus of the digipak creation. This was the software I used to create it. Using it allowed for an expansive variety of effects to be used, to make the overall digipak look much more professional than any other software could offer.

+Software used in Evaluation

Quicktime Player v7

- I used this software as an onscreen video catcher for the first evaluation question. It allowed me to use clips from other music videos to back up my points about the forms and conventions of my music video.

PowerPoint

- I used PowerPoint in this question. It allowed me to use a more dynamic presentational way of answering the Evaluation questions.

WordPress

- WordPress was crucial piece of software in both the production of the music video and in the post video evaluation questions. It is the main hub of all the information collated throughout the project, and is the way my work will be handed in.

+ YouTube

- Youtube was a crucial piece of software when it came to the evaluation. Combined with the video capturing software, it allowed me to use and compare my video to other videos on the market.

Google

- Google was essential for the reasearch and development of the digipak especially. It allowed me to see other existing digipaks that could be used as inspiration in my own project.

Prezi

- Prezi was used in the final evaluation questions, to add a variety to the presentation of the answers.

Safari

- Safari was the web browser used in the evaluation. It was crucial when researching videos and digipaks to use. Also, when constructing the digipak at the end of the project, safari was used to look for and research fonts to use, to make the overall package have an overall more professional feel, more than what could be done with any of the preset fonts.
